Tranquil and relaxing! This charming Cow Island cottage is the perfect place for a romantic get away, family vacation, or boys weekend and has exceptional southern views of the mountains and Lake Winnipesauke. The yard and dock have sun exposure all day long and are protected from the wind.

The cottage is nestled in a private cover that is great for water skiing, swimming, snorkeling, fishing kayaking, canoeing etc. Nothing beats the amazing views, sunsets, and relaxing on the dock or on the front screened in porch overlooking the lake and fire pit. There is a ton of wildlife and and 3-miles of island to walk and explore.

Note a boat is necessary to access the islands.

About Fred Williams

I purchased the lot and designed the house, cleared the lot and built it the following year. There is about 100' of lake frontage with breath taking views facing south. The lot includes a marsh and a bridge was built so that all the shore line can be walked on and seating varies with access to other side of marsh. I am very proud to take guests out to my place for swimming and cookouts.

It is so private and peaceful with tons of wildlife to observe and you can walk the entire island because the middle is town owned. Any fallen wood can be used for a camp fire in the fire pit.

There are golf corses every where as well as restraunts and Weirs Beach water park,go carts,mountains, biking, skiing, fishing or just relaxing on the hammec and listen to the lake and loons.

Renter Entered the Property after he rented it to us (while we were out at dinner)!!!!

The second day of our stay at Cow Island, Will came out to the property on his boat. We were just leaving on our boat to head to Wolfsboro for dinner. We left the flood lights on in front of the property so we could find our way home in the dark. Will entered the property while we were gone and turned off all the lights - he was worried about electricity use (not to mention that we lost electricity on Cow Island 2 out of the 7 days we were there). This is a huge violation of privacy and the law. This spot was absolutely beautiful, but cleanliness was lacking (owner's dirty towels left hanging in the bathroom) - and the invasion of privacy was very unprofessional.

Owner's Response: In all fairness, I was alerted by a neighbor on the island that several dogs were barking and I did go in and got dog treats and water for the dog chained out side and the dog inside. The renter and I had an agreement of how many people and dogs were able to use the lake house. That agreement was violated by this renter. I never mentioned that the dog dug holes in the front lawn which I had to fix. I am honest with renters and will not tolerate renters taking advantage by doubling the occupancy.

We escaped for an entire month!

We rented Will's house for the entire month of July last summer and it was great. It was a true escape from things. The dock was perfect for my 28' Formula. The water is clear and calm. Orchard Cove is beautiful. The intimacy with the water is excellent - the patio is right on the water and you look out over the water while you're grilling. The screened-in porch is excellent on those rainy evenings, and the fire pit is outstanding.

Things to keep in mind: it's really a 1BR + a loft, the toilet in the bathroom is a composting toilet (but there is an outhouse as well), and the kitchen sink is actually on the back porch. These things were no big deal for a handful of 30-something professionals, but if you have small children, they might add a level of complexity.

In addition, Will is super easy to work with and we stay in touch to this day. I would go back in a heartbeat...and plan on doing so!

Pet Fee $100

Nightly Rate: $300.
Weekly Rate: $1700. plus deposit of $300. and pet fee. for private car parking add $100. for the week. boat trailers are free and I will loan you a pass.

Monthly rates..$6,000.00

A $300. security deposit reserves your vacation and will be returned following the owners inspection of the lake house. There is off season rates and prime time rates. Most of the summer is $1700. And off season prices are a real deal. Well behaved pets are welcome for a small weekly fee. I do not place my pets in kennels and this is way less expensive plus they are part of the adventure.i am willing to negotiate if you reserve early. The best rental times are in the fall when you have the lake to yourself. The lake house is situated in a deep protective cove. I just had a new 40'x6' solid dock installed.The rental needs to be paid in full at least two weeks before rental day.

$300 deposit for one week stay, two weeks prior to arrival date I receive the 1700. the security deposit is refunded upon inspection of property.$100.for each pet also. If the house is left unkempt a cleaning fee will occur.
