Just Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Spent 3 wonderful nights here. What a lovely cabin, pond, and neighborhood! THis cabin is spotlessly clean, nicely appointed and decorated, the beds SO COMFY!. The kitchen has just about everything you need - utensils, pots, pans, and a great coffee maker. :) The decks were great, the little pond and canoe just right, and its a great neighborhood for a run or just a hike. The owner was very responsive and professional. Definitely want to return.

The Lakefront Mountain Cabin was great!

  • 5 of 5

When looking for a cabin in the mountains, I needed something that my elderly father would be able to stay in. This cabin was perfect! It was very neat and clean. We were able to drive right up to the door and everything my father needed was easily accessible. The cabin had everything we needed. I think we probably could have found most anything we may had forgotten, and the Ingles store was not very far.

If you enjoy nature, you could spend your time swinging on the porch that overlooks the lake and marveling at all God's wonderful creation.

The owner was very accommodating. I did not prepare in advance and was concerned that I might not be able to find a good cabin. Because of the owner's continued willingness to work with me , I was able to book this property. I would not have been able to find a more suitable place even if I had gone in person and searched.

The only problem was that it was dark when we arrived so finding the cabin was a little difficult. I would recommend, if possible, that you arrive before dark.

Lovely retreat on a mountain lake

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a mountain lake retreat and we found it with the Lakefront Mountain Cabin. It was well stocked with all the amenities we wanted. A real plus was being able to walk down the stairs to the dock to swim and canoe every day. The house is at the end of the small mirror lake and the water was clear and warm.

The access road to the cabin was flat and easy to navigate. We were also grateful for the easy access from the parking to the front door-what a plus when you are hauling in groceries and luggage. The cabin was close to every thing(the nature trail, the entrance, swimming beach and old swimming hole) while being secluded and peaceful.

We also enjoyed the swimming beach nearby as well as the old swimming hole where our old dog got to frolic off leash with other dogs in the water. That was priceless!

We only had one minor issue with the AC during the brutally hot spell but the property owner was very prompt in replying and it was quickly fixed.

Our only regret was that we didn't book additional days!!!

We would stay here again in a "heartbeat".

Great place

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is exactly how it's described. The cabin is very roomy inside and "stocked" with everything you may need, the bonus is that it overlooks a small lake. My kids especially loved the canoe-and they have everything needed for fishing including fishing rods and life preservers for kids and adults alike. The driveway is easily accessible without having to go down/up a steep driveway, unlike other cabins in the development. Customer service was stellar--the refrigerator actually malfunctioned while we were there and we emailed the owner who responded to the email within 5 minutes. She was able to secure a repairmen within 2-3 days, however, she compensated us for the inconvenience without us even asking. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the area.

perfect getaway for Thanksgiving

  • 5 of 5

Autumn is a fabulous time to visit the Lake Lure area. The mild temperature and trees without leaves make the hiking and vistas magnificent.

We can't say enough good things about the Hernandez cabin. The loft is charming, while the first floor is beautiful and comfortable. We grandparents especially appreciated the jacuzzi after two days of hiking Rumbling Bald and Chimney Rock. We all enjoyed the canoeing on Little Mirror Lake. It was so easy to make ourselves at home in the well-equipped kitchen. The instructions were very complete and clear and we found it just as described. This cabin was a treasure to find, and worked beautifully for our three generation Thanksgiving retreat. We'd love to do it again.

Exactly as advertised

  • 5 of 5

The website, including the photos, give you a good sense of what this place is like. It is a nice, quiet, comfortable house, overlooking a small lake. There are plenty of fun day trips to do -- if you want to -- or you can just hang out on the terrace and relax.
