There is not a single thing to complain about and so many to rave about. We shall return for a longer stay. Thank you for creating such a special spot
The location is great, and the cabin itself is very nice. We traveled with 3 children under 5 and were getting away for the weekend and wanted to take them to Chimney Rock. Here are the pros and cons of our stay. Pros: It is secluded, but still very close to restaurants and activities. It is easy to get to and the cabin has plenty of room. It has a great view of the lake and easy access to it as well. Cons: We did spend the first night cleaning food off the floor, cleaning all of the dishes and utensils (it looked like someone just used them and put them back in drawers/cabinets with food on them,) and trying to get the gas logs working. The gas logs did not work so that was a bit of a bummer. We tried using the x-box for the kids and all of the games were scratched and could not be read. I would suggest adding blinds to the windows in the living room too as it does not feel very private at night. There were also dogs, I assume from one of the cabins down the street, that were running on our porch at about 2:00 AM on our second night that are lucky to be alive. We called the owner and left her a voicemail with some of our frustrations on our second day there and she got back with us promptly. She apologized and said that she was going to reimburse us for half of our stay. We didn't expect that, but felt that it was fair. We understood that a lot of our frustrations had more to do with the cleanup crew and events that were outside of her control.
The cabin is cute and cozy and exceeded our expectations based on the pictures. Felt safe and private even though there are nearby neighbors. We were disappointed the fireplace didn't work, but other than that, we enjoyed our stay.
We rented this property for a quick weekend in the area to look at property. It's not on Lake Lure which is what we wanted but rather on a set of small lakes in a gated community nearby. The property was as advertised, very clean and well-kept. We loved the development and the Broad River and natural areas that are part of the property. Only disappointment was the fireplace wasn't working but this was minor. We'll be back for sure. Owners/managers were easy to work with and very responsive. Paperwork was a bit more than we were used to due to HOA requirements I'm sure but that's what keeps the community lovely and quiet. We travel almost exclusively via VRBO these days. Highly recommended.
Spent 3 wonderful nights here. What a lovely cabin, pond, and neighborhood! THis cabin is spotlessly clean, nicely appointed and decorated, the beds SO COMFY!. The kitchen has just about everything you need - utensils, pots, pans, and a great coffee maker. :) The decks were great, the little pond and canoe just right, and its a great neighborhood for a run or just a hike. The owner was very responsive and professional. Definitely want to return.
When looking for a cabin in the mountains, I needed something that my elderly father would be able to stay in. This cabin was perfect! It was very neat and clean. We were able to drive right up to the door and everything my father needed was easily accessible. The cabin had everything we needed. I think we probably could have found most anything we may had forgotten, and the Ingles store was not very far.
If you enjoy nature, you could spend your time swinging on the porch that overlooks the lake and marveling at all God's wonderful creation.
The owner was very accommodating. I did not prepare in advance and was concerned that I might not be able to find a good cabin. Because of the owner's continued willingness to work with me , I was able to book this property. I would not have been able to find a more suitable place even if I had gone in person and searched.
The only problem was that it was dark when we arrived so finding the cabin was a little difficult. I would recommend, if possible, that you arrive before dark.
We were looking for a mountain lake retreat and we found it with the Lakefront Mountain Cabin. It was well stocked with all the amenities we wanted. A real plus was being able to walk down the stairs to the dock to swim and canoe every day. The house is at the end of the small mirror lake and the water was clear and warm.
The access road to the cabin was flat and easy to navigate. We were also grateful for the easy access from the parking to the front door-what a plus when you are hauling in groceries and luggage. The cabin was close to every thing(the nature trail, the entrance, swimming beach and old swimming hole) while being secluded and peaceful.
We also enjoyed the swimming beach nearby as well as the old swimming hole where our old dog got to frolic off leash with other dogs in the water. That was priceless!
We only had one minor issue with the AC during the brutally hot spell but the property owner was very prompt in replying and it was quickly fixed.
Our only regret was that we didn't book additional days!!!
We would stay here again in a "heartbeat".
