Great stay!!

  • 5 of 5

Great place on the river!! Tubes, kayaks, canoes, fishing poles, games available to use. The house was clean and comfy! Carolyn was very pleasant and quick to respond to any questions. We had difficulties getting a good signal for Internet, but that is expected, come prepared with directions to the house before hand .

Spring house is such a comfortable house with all conveniences needed for an escape from the everyday! Prior to arrival, Ms. Carolyn is quick to answer any questions we had and at check-in she provided a wealth of information. Great trip and would return!

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the Spring House, Carolyn was incredibly responsive and helpful with our booking all the way from Germany.

The house is in a wonderful quiet setting and is equipped with everything you might need for a family getaway.

We were a family of 5 with the youngest being 12 years old and he particularly enjoyed learning how to fish with the rods that were provided at the house. He ended up catching 5 fish that day! Wonderful memories!

The canoes and kayaks were also a lot of fun and we enjoyed making smores in the fire pit.

It is true when Carolyn says: you only need to bring your clothes, everything else is provided.

Extremely pleased with our vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Mrs. Carolyn is an absolute sweetheart and does everything in her power to accommodate anything you may want. My wife and I and another married couple stayed here and had a blast. We played shuffle board, went kayaking, fished and did many other activities this beautiful home has to offer. We also had a fire in the fire pit and made s'mores every night. Every morning we made coffee and sat on the screened in porch over looking the river. We will definitely be back to enjoy it again!! Thank you Mrs. Carolyn for your gracious hospitality!

A great place!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first experience using a vacation house vs staying at a hotel and it could not have been better. Carolyn and Brad are very nice people and good to work with. Our family of four had plenty of space at this wonderful house. There were plenty of games to play at the house and it was a real treat for us "yanks" to use the canoes and kayaks to paddle a river in December in short sleeves and shorts! Stay here, you won't regret it!

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

Had a blast over this past weekend. 6 adults and 3 kids we really filled the place up but everyone had a really great time. Floated for about 2 hours down the Santa Fe back to the house. Did some fishing(although no catching but still very enjoyable. Very quiet and the house had everything you could need already there. Canoes Kayaks w/ paddles/live vests, tubes for floating, a couple fishing poles if needed games, books plenty of patio furniture, tons of towels/linens, you really don't need anything but clothes and food. Owner was very helpful and willing to help in anyway to make our stay comfortable.

The only complaint would be the house next door had some construction going on, which was odd for a Saturday and Sunday, so we received a wake up call at 8:00 a.m. each morning of saws/ weed eaters/ hammering. But I am sure this was a fluke, and the noise was hardly noticeable after we were awake.

The only suggestion would be that the beds be upgraded to a queen size. We are a bit oversized for full sized beds (6'8" bro in law and I am a bit on the fluffy side)

Neither of which would stop me from renting again and plan to do so in the future.

Location

Activity and Interests

The Springhouse is close to Ichetucknee Springs State Park, Oleno State Park (where the Santa Fe goes underground for 3 miles), the River Rise (where it reemerges), Ginnie and Blue Springs, Rum Island park and Sandy Point (where the Santa Fe joins the Suwannee). There are approximately 5 miles of state maintained hiking trails adjacent to the oasis. You will be within viewing and walking distance of the community boat ramp and spring. You can fill the day swimming, fishing, snorkeling, floating, diving, hunting. Antiquing in High Springs and Fort White, and eating in Branford or Bell, there is plenty to look forward to daily.

You may grill on the gas grill or cook over our outdoor firepit and in the evening watch digital satellite TV or play a DVD on the built in player. The house has central heat and air, if nature is not tuned just right. The owners are nearby in case you need directions or assistance of any kind. Smoking is permitted on the deck or outside, but due to the proximity of the river we do not allow pets. We have, also, just installed a floating dock for swimming or docking watercraft.
