Townhome, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, 7 Sleeps

A Vegan Property.

Please send a brief bio of yourself and the people staying here with you before booking. A photo would be nice too.

A beautiful, warm and clean apartment nestled between the Hudson River on the west, historic Harlem, southeast, Sugar Hill, east, Washington Heights, north, and Columbia University, south, in our culturally diverse neighborhood of Hamilton Heights.

The apartment is located on one of the most beautiful blocks in NYC. It is on the street level which makes it easy for people with stair concerns. It is decorated with comfort and style in mind. The bedrooms are super quiet and have the most comfortable beds.

The apartment is a large 2 bedroom/2 bath duplex completely separate with its own private entrance and with access to the serene backyard garden. There are 2 queen beds, 1 full bed, and 2 twin beds, free WiFi, towels, sheets, pillows, iron and board, hairdryer, and bathrobes. One bathroom has a jacuzzi. The bedrooms have an air conditioner and a TV for dvds. (Small library provided). Sorry, no TV service.

The kitchen is fully equipped with good knives, cutting board, pots and pans, toaster, coffee maker, coffee grinder, dishes, glasses, and silverware.

The neighborhood has plenty of restaurants like Dinosaur BBQ, Covo, Harlem Public, Trufa, The Chipped Cup Cafe, and Unione, grocery stores (Fairway), drug stores (Rite Aid), Bikram Yoga (Hot), and shopping. The Riverbank State Park is just around the corner offering 2 swimming pools, a running track, a skating rink, restaurant, concerts, and more.

The 1 train is two blocks away, the A/C/B and D trains only five blocks away. The subway ride to Times Square is about 15 minutes. Street parking is available.

Thank you so much and have a wonderful stay in NYC!

Happy travels,

Karen

Guestbook comments from the owner

A wonderful stay, the house is identical to the photos, it has everything we need (laundry, bathroom, slipper, bathrobe ...). We were greeted by the husband (very nice) and Karen pity we could not meet her.

Karen gave us food for the first breakfast, fruit, milk ... which is nice.

The neighborhood is very friendly and we quickly near the metro L1.

After each day we enjoyed the hot tub ....

If one day we have the opportunity to return to New York we will definitely stay in this accommodation.

By cons not to book shuttle because it does not take you to Harlem (147St) only to the 125 ST. We were able to negotiate with the driver with a few extra dollars to 21.00 because we did not want to venture into the subway with children, luggage and especially fatigue.

thank you Valerie

What a great place! You never know what to expect and this time we were very pleasantly surprised! Norbert and Karen are so nice and have done a great job with this apartment. So very well appointed and comfortable!

A beautiful street and nice, safe neighborhood just enhanced our fun times. We enjoyed sitting on the stoop when we came in late night... The subway is easily accessed and there are good restaurants and pubs nearby. All in all, it was a great place to stay for the week! We highly recommend it!

Awesome Stay in Hamilton Heights

  • 5 of 5

Just spent a wonderful vacation in New York City. Stayed at an awesome place which was so much better than staying at a hotel. Owners were gracious and readily available when needed. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in a home away from home.

Treasure in Hamilton Heights

  • 5 of 5

We've just completed a fabulous stay in this beautiful apartment. It was perfect for 4 people (and could handle more) with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and plenty of room to spread out. The beautiful hardwoods and very comfortable furnishings made us really feel at home. At first a little concerned about how far uptown we were, that proved to be a silly concern since the subway was very close and Uber never took long to get to us. Being in such an interesting neighborhood with beautiful homes and feeling perfectly safe was well worth the very few extra minutes it took to get to the city. The 1 train took us just about everywhere we wanted to go, and we were soooo close to Yankee Stadium. Our hosts greeted us and were always just an email away with a quick response. We would highly recommend this wonderful property!

We had a very pleasant stay at Harlem Gem. We were two couples and the living space was ideal. The property was remarkably clean. Convenient to subway. Uber was never more than three minutes. Recommended.

A true gem

  • 5 of 5

My family had the fortunate opportunity to stay in this brownstone apartment. My husband is a tv fanatic, so I worried about the lack of this amenity. He didn't even miss it!!! Our son (35 years old) enjoyed the historical DVD collection about NYC. He watched every one of them and was able to give us background on areas while touring the city. We had hoped our daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter were not able to make the trip. But, the apartment would have accommodated all of us very well.

The downstairs bedroom was perfect for him to escape for some "me" time after full days of guiding his parents around, while we escape to some of our own private time. The apartment is very comfortably appointed, clean, and secure in a nice neighborhood. This was our first time to NY so we had our apprehensions. All apprehensions proved to be unfounded! The people were friendly. The number 1 subway to town and all the happenings is only a block away. If you want to experience the cultural diversity of NY though, I suggest a walk down the street and catch the number 1 farther down the line.

We walked by the river to a wonderful Italian restaurant, Covo's. The prices were appropriate, food, service, and atmospher were great.

The apartment has a full size refrigerator, stove, and coffee maker. No microwave. But, we managed without the microwave.

Norbert was there to let us drop off our bags for an early arrival. He was friendly and informative. Unfortunately, we never had the opportunity to meet Karen. But, when I emailed her about forgetting to print our passes for the 9/11 Memorial, we arrived back at the apartment after an evening out to find them in an envelope at the door ready for us. Karen was always responsive when I emailed her about any questions prior to our arrival.

Thank you Karen and Norbert for helping to make our first trip to NYC such an awesome experience. Our son says he wants to go back to see more, and when he does he wants to stay at the very same place. No uptown high rises nor stuffy hotel rooms when there is such a fabulous warm and inviting apartment like this to stay at.

Brilliant experience

  • 5 of 5

Everything was perfect, a fantastic stay in the Big Apple, the appartment was a lovely and cosy place, Norbert & Karen were very kind and attentive, the kitchen was just like at home and we feel like real new-yorkers from the first minute.

The location is peaceful, there's plenty of shops in the district for food, everybody speaks spanish and always smile....!!!That's the melting pot of Spanish Harlem. Subway is just 5 minutes-walk, good restaurants all around, just a dream.

When we come back, we go there, no doubt about it and we recommend it to our friends.
