The perfect beach house

  • 5 of 5

This really is the perfect summer beach house. The house is clean, comfortable and perfectly situated between Perkins Cove, the Marginal Way and Main St. A screened in porch with a porch swing, lots of bedrooms, bathrooms and even more character. We loved everything about this house. It's so quiet at night it's hard to believe it's so close to so much of what's going on in Ogunquit. We can't wait to go back!

excellent classic OGT cottage

  • 4 of 5

Our family actually stayed here in 2010 through a different realtor and it was a very clean, comfortable cottage. The owner was very easy to deal with and we had a wonderful stay. This is a classic cottage not a luxury hotel..if you are looking for a quintessential summer cottage experience close to the beach and town, this is a great place to stay!

Owner's Response: Thanks, guys. Since this is our family summer home, it is always nice to hear when other families have enjoyed their stay. At least 6 of these old-style cottages in the surrounding blocks have been demolished in the past few years. Although it has provided more privacy with no close neighbors, we sometimes get a bit nostalgic for the summer of 1976 when we first arrived. Ogunquit remains "Beautiful Place by the Sea".

Activity and Interests

No car is necessary to enjoy a day at Big Beach, and Little Beach and Narrow Cove are even closer to this traditional Maine Summer home.

Walk the Marginal Way footpath with surf to one side and lush gardens to the other.

The Indians named it "Beautiful Place by the Sea" and it is!

Eat the freshest lobster in the world at locally owned Barnacle Billy's Lobster Restaurant in Perkins Cove or gourmet sushi at The Black.

Enjoy the live theatre at the Ogunquit Playhouse and the latest movies at the Leavitt Fine Arts Cinema.

The Barn Gallery and The Ogunquit Art Museum is a must for artists and is also family friendly.

Casual family restaurants as well as fine dining are all located among a variety of unique shops in in the historic downtown. The Village Market offers traditional and gourmet fare for groceries and take-out.

Looking for nightlife? Ogunquit has it all. Try The Front Porch Piano Bar, live music at the Village Inn or hang out at the Gypsy's upstairs where locals gather after hours.

Surfers from New England claim that Ogunquit is the "best on the upper east coast" and kayakers love the tidal river.
