About John Crombie
We are a family of four and we originally bought the place when our two daughters were small and with children in mind.. . Our two daughters are now adults and still join us for trips to Snowmass.
John Crombie purchased this Studio in 2001
Why John Crombie chose Snowmass Ski Area
After years of visiting Snowmass we finally found a property with a nice view, that was Ski in Ski out and worked for us and our two children. We love our wee mountain home and are sure you will too.
What makes this Studio unique
Beside the pool, the restaurant and the direct access to the ski slope, it is a corner loft unit, with an extra window giving it more light, a feeling of space and it has a great view.
Pool / Spa

Excellent location and service from the condominium managers
This small apartment was great for my family, it was big enough for us, to our surprise it include everyday cleaning, and free transportation around snowmass. Also, there is a ski rental in the back of the property as well as heated spas and laundry machines.
My only complain is the main mattress that needs to be changed.
Perfect and cozy location
So easy. Convenient and perfect for a family of four. Ski in ski out! Clean and staff was very helpful at the property as well as the owner.
Great ski in-ski out unit 65 steps from door to Fanny Hill trail.
What a great spot. Unit was clean and nicely decorated. Galley kitchen works. Very comfortable king size bed in the loft. Be advised - for those who have trouble with stairs, the stairs to the loft are doable but quite steep. There is a bunk bed off dining area. Unit has nice views over the building in front of it and through the trees. Very convenient to the slopes with lockable ski racks right off the trail. Communal hot tub and pool are gorgeous. Exercise and Steam room available. Enjoyed walking to Snowmass Village. Timberline provides a local shuttle which we took advantage of. There is also a town wide free shuttle throughout the Snowmass Village and Aspen area. I would happily stay here again.
Thanks Susan: Glad you had a great time.
Very nice & well appointed loft studio, perfect for a couple & small family. Owner is fabulous
Great ski-in, ski-out location & staff at Timberline are wonderful. Great amenities. Highly recommend!
We loved Timberline. The condo was just right for us and our 2 granddaughters. The pool and hot tubs were a perfect way to end a great day of skiing. I can’t say enough about the staff at Timberline. They took care of everything we needed with a smile.
Glad You enjoyed our wee mountain home... I'll pass on your compliments to the staff of The Timberline.
Perfect 10d REAL ski-in/ski-out.
Location: Top of the Village with direct ski access to the slope taking you to the Village Express Chair. You can leave your skis on the upper deck above the pool/jacuzzi (get a lock from front desk). Less than 15 steps walking in your boots to get to that deck through the south door. The apartment faces North with no vis-a-vis, and you can see the slope from the balcony. This apartment is in the main building of the Timberline Condos and is the most practical.
Amenities: 2 jacuzzis, one pool, one steam room (even a gym, if you feel like you did not do enough on the slopes). Very helpful reception/concierge. Courtesy van readily available to drop or pick you anywhere in Snowmass and from/to the airport. Daily maid service. You can order your ski-lift tickets online and have them delivered to Timberline. Restaurant in the main building (The Edge) obviously convenient and reasonable in quality/price.
Wi-Fi was sketchy at times but overall worked.
Owner: John C. is very friendly and responsive to any question.
Overall: the convenience of the location and quality of amenities make this apartment great. I hope to come back.
The four mountains that make up the Aspen/Snowmass Ski area and are covered by both the Ski pass and the free bus service; ... Aspen Mountain (AKA Ajax), Aspen Highlands (The locals favorite), Buttermilk (Home of the "X" Games) and mighty Snowmass. These four mountains offer a variety of ski-ing that will meet the needs of ski-ers be they 1st timers, extreme cliff jumpers, young children or old timers... It just does not get any better. Snowmobiling and dogsledding are also available if you wish a day off and shopping in Aspen does not grab your fancy. Weekly fireworks display that you can watch from your balcony.
In Summer, it is even better... Rent a bike in the village.. ride it down to Aspen, grab an ice cream then follow the Roaring Fork river down valley to the Woody Creek Tavern for lunch where you could well be sitting beside a celebrity... After lunch it is a short pedal on the bike to the bus stop... Put your bike on the free bus and ride it back up the hill to home, biking was never before this great! Don't fancy bicycling how about golf, hot air ballooning or a sail plane ride. The white water rafting is awesome, the Hiking spectacular, a picnic at the Grotto's recommended. Do not miss the free weekly concert just outside your door on the slopes beside The Timberline that others come from all over to enjoy ....or the weekly rodeo and BBQ held at the lower Village lot.
Down valley there is the hot springs and therapeutic caves of Glenwood Springs and if you are into Fishing!!! The Frying Pan river is world famous for its monster trout.
In 2010 there was a discovery of a "Monster" cache of prehistoric beasts at the bottom of Snowmass Lake.. Jesse Steele, while working his bulldozer to expand Ziegler Reservoir uncovered the bones of a juvenile Columbian mammoth!! The community of Snowmass Village quickly developed “mammoth” fever. after the Denver Museum of Nature and Science (DMNS) scientists & their team of experts descended upon Snowmass and discovered not only more more mammoths, but mastodons, a Jefferson ground sloth, gigantic ice age bisons, a small deer and a salamander along with well-preserved plant matter, ancient insects and invertebrates, in fact an entire exceptionally preserved Ice Age ecosystem. Apparently the cold and low oxygen content at the bottom of the lake preserved the animals in a mommy like condition. The museum in the village created to exhibit these finds is for sure yet another sight seeing spot in the area.
