Guestbook comments from the manager

Stayed first week of September, 2009 and absolutely loved this place! Pictures do not do it justice. Literally everything you need from home Gail has in her chalet. It's a warm, comfortable and very enviting place. Very kid friendly, or even perfect for a romantic get-away. Centrally located in Eidelweiss which is 15 min. from Conway Village and restaurants, outlets, attractions and awesome swimming holes! Beautiful deck with sliding doors from the living room and a nice sized yard and private driveway. You feel very peaceful and can really unwind here. Beds are very comfy also. We can't wait to return to Gail's cottage - she's super friendly and will help you in any way she can. Thanks for a super vacation, Gail!

Clean and well maintained!

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful house for a quick getaway to the mountains. It is exceptionally clean and cozy and the country decor is so welcoming. I really loved the bright kitchen and dining area and I imagine that the deck must be delightful in the spring and summer. The shopping and restaurants are fantastic and only a short drive away. The only problem for me was that my stay wasn't long enough!

I would not hesitate to rent again and I would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We do our best to keep our home clean, cozy and comfortable whether it's a quick get away or a week's vacation in the White Mountains. Recent updates to our kitchen keep it looking bright and modern but still cozy. There is plenty to do in the area and never enough time. You are welcome back at any time. Hope to see you again soon!!

Clean, comfortable stay in a great community

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the chalet! It was the perfect base camp for us. The home was very clean (yay!), great space for socializing with the open concept. The firepit was fun to gather around at night while we discussed our adventures. Opening and closing procedures are easy. The house is stocked with everything you need to make meals if you wish to do so. We enjoyed a drive up Mt. Washington, kayaking on the saco river and lots of other spots like Diana's Baths and the silly things like Pirates Cove. We dined out many places, our favorite being Moat Brewery. We would certainly stay again and recommend it. Gail was very easy to get in touch with about the home but instructions were so clear that we didn't have a need to contact through our time there. Thank you for sharing your home!

Relaxing and eventful weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

Extremely cozy and clean chalet located minutes from many popular North Conway attractions(shopping, skiing and dining). This is a great place to stay for a relaxing weekend getaway with family and friends or an adventure packed weekend. The house was immaculate upon arrival and had everything we needed. We've rented before and will definitely be renting again. The owners provided great customer service and are very responsive with any questions. Highly recommend this property.

Great ski weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Rented this chalet for the weekend for a ski trip. House had everything we needed for the trip and was very clean. Perfect location...15 minutes from King Pine Mountain and 15 minutes from downtown Conway. Looking to rent again next year.

A lovely little chalet that feels like it's in the woods

  • 4 of 5

We were 6 adults and 2 kids staying here for a long weekend in February, in order to do some skiing nearby (it's a 15 min drive from King Pine ski area, and several more serious hills are also in the area). The chalet is comfortable and very clean, and the living room, with wood stove and lots of windows, is a nice space to relax in. The owner, Gail, was nice and helpful.

The only negatives were a couple of related peeves. First, linens and towels are not provided; you have to bring your own. That didn't bug us until we got there and realized that there weren't even any hand towels in the bathrooms (I was wiping my hands on my shirt all weekend) or a dish towel in the kitchen. For the price, and given the good quality of the place otherwise, we felt those basic amenities should have been provided. Second, you have to take your own garbage to the dump (if it happens to be open when you plan to leave, which it wasn't in our case) or pack your garbage back home with you, and you have to empty the dishwasher and put all the clean dishes away before you leave (meaning you have to wait for the dishwasher cycle to finish). All this self-cleaning (sheets, towels, dishes, garbage, even making the beds) might have seemed natural if there weren't a $60 cleaning fee on top of the daily rental rate. In our case, the only cleaning left to do when we left was 15 minutes' work wiping down the bathrooms.

But those little peeves aside, it was a great weekend and I would recommend it.

Owner's Response: I'm glad when guests enjoy their stay at our chalet and find it clean and comfortable, since that is what we strive to provide. We are close to many ski areas, outlet shopping and North Conway. In fairness, it is clearly stated in the description of our chalet on the website that linens are not provided. We also provide our guests with information on how to open and close the chalet, dates of operation of the Transfer Station, and what is expected upon departure. All this is known to guests before they finalize their stay. Housekeeping does all vacuuming of entire home, making sure bedrooms are neatly put together, washing all floors and bathrooms, cleaning refrigerator, and wiping down cabinets and kitchen before arrival of our next guests, especially during busy vacation times when turn around time is short. We take pride in providing a clean, comfortable and reasonably priced home for a vacation. We ask our guests to contact us with any questions on the information provided before their stay. If the Transfer Station is closed upon a guests' departure and it is brought to our attention, we will ask housekeeping to take care of it at our expense. We feel our rates are very reasonable for rental of a clean, comfortable and cheery home to enjoy a vacation in the White Mountains.
