A friend and I stayed in David's cabin on our first hiking trip in Oregon, and we couldn't have found a more perfect place. The location is ideal - a quiet wooded area close to some of the best hiking trails around Mount Hood - and the cabin itself is comfortable, very inviting and excellently equipped with all modern appliances. I can recommend it wholeheartedly! (And I'm definitely going back there again for my next trip to Oregon).

I booked this cabin for a weekend getaway with my young daughter. David responded right away to my booking request, answered any questions promptly, and provided a helpful packet of information on the cabin and the area prior to our arrival. The cabin is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The beds and linens were top notch and very comfortable, providing a couple of the best nights of sleep I've had in a long time. The bedrooms were also fully appointed with cozy chairs, reading lamps and television. The cabin was easy to find, but tucked far enough away from major roads that it felt completely remote and quiet. There are a few other houses nearby but I hardly noticed, you could hear a pin drop in the woods at night. There are restaurants, groceries, coffee (and a liquor store) just a short drive away on Hwy 26. Wifi worked perfectly. It rained most of the weekend of our visit so we cozied up next to the fire, took advantage of the big claw foot tub, watched movies, cooked and relaxed. It was a perfect place for rest and rejuvenation.
Great Cabin in the Mount Hood National Forrest
We spent labor day weekend at this property and we had a blast. The cabin is close to numerous hiking trails (we did a large section of the timberline trail, and the Bald Mountain Trail from Lolo pass). Everything was as described as in the listing and the property was very clean and well maintained. Our only complaint was the bathtub, it is very hard to shower with the current set up (the shower head does not mount to a wall and you are forced to either sit while you shower yourself, or make a big mess in the bathroom if you chose to stand, or take a bath which is not ideal during a hiking trip!) We utilized the amazing kitchen that the property is equipped with and had lunch at the whistle stop down hwy 26. Overall it was a great time in the woods
Great Little Cabin in the Woods
I just stayed here in Mid-July and thought this was a great little cabin to stay in. It's across 26 from some excellent places to eat and has an outstanding kitchen if you want to cook. (The gas stove took us a while to figure out, but it works well - yes, we are used to gas stoves).
There was some construction going on up on the way to Govt. Camp, but the cabin was located well away from any traffic issues that might have raised.
One thing to note is that there is only a handheld shower sprayer in the bathroom tub, or just the bathtub itself. The view around the cabin is gorgeous in the woods and the road is great getting to it.
The nearest foodstore (Tradeway?) is a great place to stock up on any needed produce or foodstuffs. The mart in Rhododendren was less of a grocery store, more of a corner mart in its quality of wares.
One other thing of note was we couldn't figure out how to open the windows at one point as it got a little warm from cooking and the AC didn't seem to be changing at all - but this is a minor complaint.
All in all a wonderful area, and a great cabin to discover it in while remaining close to many of the great local establishments!
perfect luxury escape!
Everything about this place down to every detail was amazing. The neighbors are far enough away to feel like you're completely private in the cabin. The fire is perfect, even for being gas. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom has a beautiful bath tub. The property is a beautiful forest and it was great to walk around. My fiance and I felt like we stole away on an early honeymoon, it couldn't have been a better time!
Most amazing cabin ever!!
WE could not have asked for a better place to spend our vacation, tucked away just off a creek is this charming lil log cabin that is decorated in a designer quality all the way down to the sheets!
My daughter and I took a tub in the claw foot tub, cooked in the amazing gourmet kitchen and shared stories by the fire...
I hope to be back soon, I can't thank you enough for letting us share your home.

Luxurious Mountain Getaway
My husband and I had the opportunity to stay at this incredible cabin for 5 remarkable days. It is by far the nicest vacation rentals I have ever stayed at. I am fortunate enough that I typically stay in the Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton and other luxury hotels for business travel, so am usually disappointed when I stay at rental properties on holidays, because they just don't meet my expectations.
The interior of the cabin is absolutely stunning and the furniture and décor is something similar to what you would see in an Homes and Gardens or Architectural Digest. You know the magazines that you look at and only wish your home furnishings were that nice? Well..this is one of those places! My husband also is an experimental chef and fell in love with the layout of the kitchen and the exceptional stove that has French Chateau design.
The property is well situated so that you are only minutes away from some of the best hiking and snow shoe trails as well as downhill and cross country skiing. This makes it an ideal getaway for either summer or winter. Although if outdoor adventures are not really your style the cabin is so cozy it is hard to pull yourself away from reading a good book by the fireplace, brushing up on your piano, watching movies, or just playing games.
This is the second time we have visited this property and we definitely plan to stay again soon!!
