About Valnora Leister and Mark Frazier
We live now in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley and have owned the beach house for more than 30 years. Our family has wonderful memories of summer vacations filled with beach-combing, swimming, bicycling, and fishing. We hope you'll enjoy a vacation there too!
Valnora Leister and Mark Frazier purchased this House in 1983
Why Valnora Leister and Mark Frazier chose Heathsville
The quality of the beach and the tranquil setting were what first drew us to Ophelia. The area has a wealth of history and opportunities for day trips on charter boats, ferries to nearby islands, and outings to memorable restaurants, museums and shops in Reedville, Kilmarnock, and Heathsville. Over the years, we've been able to add an upstairs deck, rooms, and amenities to the beach house. It is a place for fun and rest – and hard to leave!
What makes this House unique
Some of our favorite activities are relaxing on the upstairs deck and watching the osprey, bald eagles, pelicans, and dolphins go by. Views of sunrises over the Bay and sunsets on the Potomac are gorgeous. The salt water pool is easy on the eyes and a great way to cool off after hikes or long walks on the beach. An outdoor barbecue as picnic table sits between house and pool. Inside, we have comfortable and well air-conditioned spaces for meals and gatherings of friends and family.

Once again we loved our stay. Looking forward to next year!
Great house. The multiple different floor levels were difficult for some of our older guests but everything else was wonderful.
Perfect home for a vacation!
We had an absolutely wonderful time! The house was perfect for our family. The home was so comfortable, relaxing and well taken care of. Everything we needed was provided. We enjoyed everyday in the pool and the walks along the beach. This is our second year at this home and we hope to return year after year.
Quiet and perfect for relaxation
The house was much nicer than the pictures made it look. Could use some updates but for what we needed it was perfect. With smaller children it was awesome having the beach and the pool to switch between and having the house right there was even better. If your looking for a place to just relax and get away from the chaos that is the place. If you are looking for a place to go and go out on the town at night not the right place. Thank you for an amazing vacation house.
Proximity of the pool and beach are fantastic!
Each day we'd spend time at the beach and then jump in the pool both in the morning and the afternoon. We even had a few evening swims in the pool which were lovely! The house is fine, but lacks a big family room to hang out in and play games comfortably. Also no good place for a group to watch movies. The two year old twins luckily didn't get hurt but we had to watch them carefully running over the different floor levels, managing the wooden steps and not bumping into the fireplace. Unfortunately, there was no propane in the grill so we didn't get to use it. Constant bug bites were annoying - but that's to be expected! The grass was finally cut on the 5th day of our stay. Be careful of the small hole in the yard between the house and the pool - we kept a lawn chair over it for safety. Overall - we had a great time because it was mostly about hanging out with family. If you're looking for a very remote get-away for relaxing - this is perfect!
I have stayed at this house before never disappointed it has everything that I needed would definately recommend to anyone who likes the quiet but you have the beach and a pool we also fished played games in the yard we love it
