Good Time... Great Vacation Rental for 2

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation in St. Augustine this past September and staying in this beachfront rental made all the difference. Being able to walk right onto the beach from the rental was fantastic.

The rental itself was in great condition upon arrival. We had one small problem with an outside door handle that was handled within 24 hours of calling Sally. Although we weren't able to meet Sally face-to-face, she was very personable over the phone and was very concerned that our stay was as perfect as could be.

The sad part of this review is that, at the time of this review, hurricane Matthew is bearing down on the Florida coastline with St. Augustine in it's sight. We hope that Sally's property survives the storm as we would most definitely consider renting from her again.

Sally, you are in our prayers and please keep us informed after Matthew passes.

Owner's Response: Thank you and so many others for your concerns and prayers. We were so blessed because we were spared (so many were not). No damage to the building. Considerable damage to fence and walkover. We are on the mend and the dock (walkover) has already been replaced and half of the fence. Mathew visited us on Friday and I had a container sitting in the driveway on Monday because I had expected a lot of damage to the building. I called for the container Wed. before Mathew's visit on Friday. The waterline on the building was about one foot but only about an inch got into the building. We had the oceanside doors replaced (new seals) before the storm and also put up plywood at all oceanfront doors and windows. My husband had planted the century plants on the dunes and that stopped some of the storm surge, sand and debris. Thank you again and we hope that you will visit us again in the future and I shall get to meet you the next time. Sally

Perfect location for convenience to the beach

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it a night. We will definitely be returning. The beach is wonderful and just steps away. We had dinner on the deck listening to the waves and also walked to Beaches Restaurant twice. The booking team and owner were very friendly and accommodating as well. It is a $10 cab ride to St. Augustine which was very fun too!

Cute, Cozy, and Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

My husband, my two children aged 9 and 10, and I, spent a wonderful week at Surfside Retreat Unit B. It was clean, well appointed with wonderful cookware, and comfortable appointments. It had a wonderful direct walkway to the beach, which was one of the nicest stretches on Vilano Beach. Sally was a wonderful hostess, who called to make sure we were comfortable and who is extremely nice and hospitable. The deck is so convenient, and private even though the house has 3 units. The washer and dryer in the building outback are very convenient and nice. I would highly recommend renting this property for a terrific summer vacation.

Owner's Response: I am thankful and blessed to have had some wonderful vacationer's stay in my units over the past eighteen years. They have taken care of the units like they were their own homes. It's a perfect place to bring children because the beach is so convenient. There is only a walkover separating your door from the beach.

Great beach location and wonderful accomodations.

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place for a beach retreat! As soon as you walk in the door you feel like you're at home. The apartment is beautifully decorated and equipped with all the supplies (kitchen utensils, towels, dish soap, appliances, etc.) that you may need. The owner takes great pride in her properties and it shows. If something is missing, she gets it right away. My family and I spent the days in St. Augustine but enjoyed the beach settings in the evenings. The location is great, near the historic district, grocery store and restaurants. I highly recommend Surfside Retreat for stays in St Augustine.

Surfside Retreat-Unit B

  • 5 of 5

We visited this rental for a quick little getaway during our busy summer schedule. It was everything and more we were hoping for. Sally was a pleasure to work with and makes sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay! The beach is just over the little walkway deck so it was beyond perfect for us to walk back and forth when we needed to. We have a one and a half year old daughter so going to the room from the beach when she needed a nap was not difficult at all. There's your own side yard that is fenced in which was perfect for us to let our dog out in from time to time. She loved the beach as well. The beach is dog-friendly and we met several other pups during our stay. There will probably be neighbors in the same house, in Units A and C. We spoke to ours several times during our stay and they were the nicest people ever. We can't wait to book this rental again! We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to St. Augustine on Vilano Beach.

Owner's Response: Surfside Retreat is so connected to the beach and that is what makes it perfect for people with children of all ages. Their are shells on the beach which keeps them interested for a while and adults as well. Sally
