Guestbook comments from the manager

Thanks for the wonderful week at your mountain home. We made a lot of family& friend memories to cherish forever, late night lounging on the deck and in the hot tub. The kids enjoyed the game room, everything was perfect. Thank you for one of our best vacations...so relaxing...we loved it.

Perfect Trip!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was a great experience. We had ample room for all 9 of us to spread out. Enjoyed how equipped it was for fun as well as the kitchen. Visitors don't need to bring a thing besides the foods they eat and drink. The furnishings were very lovely and made the place so homey. The steep spiral staircase was very "cool" leading down into the game room and didn't cause us problems with the little one - just know it's there. It is gated as well as the main staircase. We saw deer and elk up close. Decks allowed us to enjoy the peacefulness and gorgeous views. The pictures on the website don't do it justice. It has much more to offer than what you see online. Highly recommend it to others that have a large group wanting to spend fun times with each other.

Thank you for allowing us into your lovely home. You should be so proud to have such a great place.

Owner's Response: Thanks for finding us. We always know it's hard for families to wade through the over 200 listings for Ruidoso cabin listings. Finding the perfect place can be a gamble. From our own travels we understand pretty photos and glorified descriptions can be deceiving. It's the unfiltered reviews from our past guests that mean the most to us. Thanks for staying at our place this Winter. Hope to see you again. Hint: Plan a Summer vacation. Our cool mountain air is particularly great with global warming in the lowlands. LOL. Jim & Dinah

Great Holiday

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time that we have stayed at Casa Buena Vista during the Christmas holiday. The house is very cozy and offers enough space for our family. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Ruidoso.

6 out of 5 stars! Best vacation rental home ever!

  • 5 of 5

We were more than pleased with our stay at this lovely home. It has everything you could imagine and more. Tons of space, thousands of feet of deck which overlook beautiful scenery, there was deer corn on site to feed the deer every evening and every morning. The deer are there like clockwork. This house has three levels, and on the bottom level there are tons of activities from boardgames, foosball, pool, television, bar, darts and more! And don't forget the amazing hot tub which is right outside of all of these activities. All of the bedrooms were comfortable and everybody in our group was extremely pleased. Everything was clean, and the place has a very unique lodge feel with unique decor as well as three fireplaces. You can tell this couple put a lot of time effort and love into this home. It was also nice to be so far up in the mountains yet only about 10 miles from town and the casino. Once you are back at the house, you would never know you were that close to the city. We also saw elk on the golf course. Just an amazing place overall, and you can't beat the price. The photos do not do it justice, I would encourage anybody to rent this vacation home. I know we will be back for sure!

Thank you so much!

Wonderful Family Place

  • 5 of 5

This was a very welcoming and homey place to spend time with our family. Lots of room and things to do. We were there for the Cowboy Symposium, but in retrospect we all wish we had spent most of our time there and less at the Symposium. It was just very relaxing.

Owner's Response: Thanks for staying at CasaBuenaVista. Yes, we have had many guests who find our mountain home as quiet, cozy and inviting, something for everyone with no reasons to leave. Some families report not seeing their kids for hours as our game room has everything to keep them endlessly occupied. Come again. Jim & Dinah

Needs some work

I want to commend the owners of this property for their customer service because while our stay wasn't as good as it could have been the owners of this property made every effort to compensate us for our problems we encountered at their home. Our problems were taken care of quickly and the owners were friendly and timely under difficult circumstances. In all fairness I couldn't write a good or a bad report without giving the owners a fair chance to fix the issues we encountered at their property. I can only say that the owners are good people and they tried to do the right thing for us, their customer.

Owner's Response: Thanks to our Georgia guests for their many calls and emails during the stay. We apologize for the series of events that led to these remarks and poor review. We make no excuses, but wish to clarify that Ruidoso has hard water which leaves stains on the cleanest dishes and utensils, and that the thin air at our 7500 feet elevation sometimes requires our clothes dryer two cycles to completely dry loads. We had our septic system serviced in February, the first time necessary in four years, and were surprised that you encountered odors outside. We called for service the minute you contacted us and were told the tank was re-serviced within a couple of hours. We just returned from a week at our cabin and made sure the dusty upstairs bathroom window screen was cleaned, and have asked our caretakers to not use a fragrant solutions in the bathrooms and kitchen. Had we known of your sensitivity we would have asked our caretakers to use an odor-free cleaner. We are openly embarrassed that you had to contact us, the first guests in over five years to do so. It is obvious your expectations were not met. We hope our reponses were expedient and satisfactory. Thanks, Jim & Dinah.
