About Deborah O'Brien
Our family has enjoyed this spot in Narragansett right on the ocean for 20 years. From the time our kids were 5 years old, we rented next door for 10 years and then bought this house 11 years ago that is larger with more bedrooms and sitting rooms upstairs and down. Our kids have enjoyed spending time here throughout their summers and off season as well. They rollerbladed on the street, walked to the beach, had great scenery for breakfast and dinner, and just hanging out on the decks, and had wonderful family time by the side of the ocean!
Deborah O'Brien purchased this House in 2004
Why Deborah O'Brien chose Point Judith
This is a unique piece of coastline, as you can enjoy watching all the boats that come and go from Newport to Block Island and elsewhere. You can catch a weekend sailing race from Newport, or the Queen Elizabeth II sailing by, or just watching the waves come in, it's always entertaining. There's nothing like having the ocean 10ft in front of you. Our house is for families who love the ocean as much as we do!
What makes this House unique
We have plenty of windows looking out to the ocean, which is just 10 feet behind us. Watch the waves from almost every room in the house. There is nothing like being right on the ocean!

Wonderful place to stay!
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this house on the water. The sunsets and sunrises were spectacular. It is close to so many restaurants and things to do. One week was not enough time to enjoy it all. The house had plenty of room for our family of 6 adults with the occasional overnight visitor having room to stay as well. Deb was easy to work with and very responsive. I would highly recommend this beach house to anyone who is looking for beautiful water views and a clean and comfortable place to stay.
Patricia, so glad all of you enjoyed your week by the sea!
We LOVED this house! It was the perfect place for our mini family reunion. At our max, we had 7 adults and one baby and were very comfortable!! The location was great - close to beach and a few restaurants. Plus, we were able to get some good daily walks and runs in along Ocean Drive and through the surrounding neighborhoods. Deborah was a dream to work with prior to and during our trip; she was communicative and informative. My only two wishes are: 1. that the two lower level bedrooms had been a bit larger and 2. that there had been AC. It got a little humid towards the end of our stay, but for the majority of the time, the breeze off the ocean was enough to keep us cool. This is a fantastic place and we would seriously consider staying here again next summer. Thank you, Deborah, for providing a place where we could make many great memories!
Can't beat the view!
We rented the house over 4th of July week and couldn't be happier with our choice! It was a family trip that brought together my wife and two young boys (age 4 & 2) with my sisters family. Since traveling with toddlers can be tough, we had a good amount of questions for the owner, Deborah, and found her to be incredibly helpful and responsive. They even had a pack and play! I originally had some reservations about whether or not the house was appropriate for young kids, seeing how the backyard is right on the ocean and there is a drop-off before you get to the water below, but the expansive deck with baby gates, provided by the owner, made for a safe environment. We even set up a small kiddie pool on the deck so the kids could play, while the adults enjoyed the view.
The house matched the pictures - no surprises. It was fully stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, and garbage bags, as well as a good amount of condiments. Seems like it would be standard, but after renting a ton of houses over the years, it is not always guaranteed.
Quiet and peaceful location. You can hear the waves crashing against the shoreline from every room in the house. Close to beaches, grocery stores, a liquor store, and some nice restaurants. They even have a small beach/rocky shore about 100 yards away that we took the kids to find shells and skip rocks. I'd just watch out for the poison ivy along the 15 year path to the beach.
The fireworks were amazing, and went off all week along the shore line. A great experience that I'd certainly recommend for families, or just a couple friends looking to get away. You won't be disappointing.
Thanks so much Rob for the great review. We are so happy that your family enjoyed your stay during Fourth of July week! I love the photo you sent me of your two little boys looking out at the ocean from the deck-adorable!
Wonderful vacation home with great views
We loved our stay here. We did Block island, Newport mansions. Sunrise was amazing, none of us have ever seen views like that. Deborah is a great host, she clearly briefed things to do before our trip. We would highly recommend this house. Would love to stay here again!!
So glad you had a great time!
Very nice home very well located
...and the hosts are very helpful !
So glad that you and you family enjoyed your stay by the ocean!
Loved the location
I was in town for my daughter's wedding and the house couldn't have worked out any better. The house had everything we needed and the neighborhood was quiet and close to the beach and restaurants. Any down time I had was spent on the deck enjoying a sunrise or listening to the surf. Deborah was very accommodating.
