About Bruce Guyette

I grew up in nearby Carthage, NY and now live outside Middletown in Orange County, NY. I am a high school Math teacher and coach.

My mailing address is 118 Millsburg Rd, Middletown, NY 10940

Bruce Guyette purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Bruce Guyette chose Adirondacks

My grandfather built our first cottage in the 1940's and I have been enjoying Lake Bonaparte my entire life. I owned the original cottage from 1992 to 2010 and eventually sold it to my siblings and built a new cottage next door. My brother also owns the cottage between us. It is a wonderful family atmosphere.

Great Property and will return

  • 5 of 5

We LOVE the house! It was at a great location, on the lake. There were 6 of us that went. My Husband and I had the master bedroom, queen bed and spacious room. My older friend had the other room with a full bed. 3 other friends were able to fit in the Loft area with twin beds. We were warned that it might be tight, but the space worked out perfectly! Supper comfortable. There was plenty of space, and we could have also used a air mattress in the basement but was not necessary. The house was fully equipped with what we needed to cook all our meals, breakfast and dinners. It was so nice to have coffee on the deck with the sun coming up and to relax in the evenings on the floating dock or on the variety of boats and floats. As a suggestion, if you want to sleep in, bring a eye mask. The curtains are white and early morning light will come in. We would definitely love to go back.

This is a beautiful home on a quiet bay.

  • 5 of 5

While our vacation was short we enjoyed every minute in this home, even in the rain. Our four year old son refused to leave. He swam, kayaked and even fished right off the dock. He was entertained by the movies and the video games when we were stuck inside during the rain. We are hoping to come back for a longer vacation next year.

Beautiful place

  • 4 of 5

It was a beautiful place. I do wish it had air conditioning. Most of the week it was in the high 80 if not 90 but overall a great week

Owner's Response: Sorry you had such an unusually warm week. With typical summer evening temperatures in the 50's and 60's the need for air conditioning at the Lake is rare. We also have four ceiling fans to help keep the main floor comfortable.

Adorable Cottage

  • 4 of 5

The description was very accurate. We would definitely recommend it! The owner was pleasant, concerned, and helpful. The property was clean and very up to date. Our 10 year old fished for hours!!! The kayaks were great to have and the ducks are adorable. We loved it! The only things that could be an issue for some is the low ceilings in the loft, the neighbors smoking, and the large number of steps from the car might be tough for some. Also, hot humid weather made the house pretty warm at times. Great spot:)

All this within a 2 hour drive of your cabin or right at the lake. There is a public marinas, a state boat launch, a public swimming area, and a restaurant on the lake.

Lake Bonaparte is rich with deep water Brown Lake Trout, Large Mouth Bass, Great Northern Pike, Perch, Blue Gills, and Bull Heads.
