About Richard F Trubia
I was born in Queens, New York and grew up and lived on Long Island for most of my life. I am a retired high school history teacher, and moved to Leland, NC after my retirement in 2009. I am the original owner of this condo, and have served as the president of the HOA at Coral Surf for over 26 years.
Richard F Trubia purchased this Condo in 1985
Why Richard F Trubia chose Carolina Beach
I started looking for a vacation property on the ocean in 1985, and stumbled upon Carolina Beach. I looked at many condos here, and fell in love with Coral Surf. It is a very well built complex and has fared well over the years through many hurricanes. Coral Surf's location, just an eight minute walk south of the boardwalk is the best part of the beach.
What makes this Condo unique
Coral Surf has it's own private gated walkway to the beach with outdoor showers. This complex also provides covered and reserved parking for most of the units.

Great location on beach, short walk to activities and a few restaurants.
We really enjoyed our stay at Richard's property. We especially enjoyed the beach, it wasn't crowded at all. The view and sounds of the ocean was so relaxing sitting on the patio. This was our first visit to that area and found it to be very relaxing and family friendly environment and just a short trip away to Wilmington. It is definitely an older beach town not many restaurants to choose, but the food was good when we did find one.
Clean and quiet.
I would recommend that younger, rowdier crowds or those with ill mannered children check elsewhere. We enjoyed our stay as the place was clean, well stocked, and Richard was easy to get ahold of- although we did not need to reach him during our stay he was able to reach us. I would more likely recommend this as a 50 and older type condo. Also- something I had never encountered before and what will deter me from renting this property in the future is it is a non smoking COMPLEX IN ITS ENTIRETY. It is advertised as a “ non smoking condo” which is normal. I’ve never stayed at a condo you could smoke in. I was very disappointed that I had to stand in the street away from the property to smoke. I would have loved my morning coffee on the beautiful balcony with my morning cigarette. 😂🤷🏻♀️ but that’s just me.
If you like a clean place to stay this is it. Steps from a private beach not over crowded. Smaller pool great for kids.
Enjoyed my stay. Would come back
Property was an older ocean front property, but the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms were very clean. The balcony had sand on the floor and furniture, but after all it is the beach and the winds blows.
Enjoyable stay and would come back
The condo has a great location and the beach is not as populated as it is closer to the boardwalk which was great! The condo was perfect for our stay and Richard was a great host!
