Cozy Cabin Overlooking Beautiful Lake Cuyamaca

Come enjoy some of San Diego's forgotten beauty in this gorgeous, secluded Piute Trail mountain cabin overlooking Lake Cuyamaca and just minutes from the quaint little town of Julian. During your stay, you'll have a chance to see wild deer grazing in the nearby pastures below, wild turkey foraging up and down the hillside (sometimes they even visit the deck!), raccoon's getting into their usual mischief, bald eagles soaring above or swooping in for a quick meal, owls, orioles, blue-jays, migratory ducks & geese, woodpeckers... and the list goes on! If you're into bird watching and/or photography, this is a great place for both! Using the cabin as a base camp, you'll be able to explore Cuyamaca Rancho State Park and Cleveland National Forest ,Anza-Borrego State Park with their many trails and viewpoints; fish for Florida bass, smallmouth bass, trout, crappie, bluegill, channel catfish, and even white sturgeon (Yes, our lake has sturgeon!); picnic on Fletcher Island; go boating; or just take in the peaceful surroundings and vast views from the comfort of the cozy cabin! Open year-round, including the snowy winter months when you can take advantage of the local sledding and snowboarding terrain. Available by reservation only, so plan early! Guestbook comments from the owner

John,

Just wanted to say thanks for our time at the cabin. It was a great experience! Definitely cool and quiet at night which was a welcome change. The kids enjoyed being able to see all of the stars from the deck. The grill worked quite well for hot dogs and corn on the cob. I appreciate your son coming by to make sure all was well. We were blessed in being able to stay there. All the best to you and your family! - Brian & Ericka

Very comfy and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Home has everything you need. Sitting on the front porch and enjoying the view was great. We saw deer and turkeys and even a coyote! Only thing that could be better is the internet service. I had to get some work done and had problems sending emails. I️ recommend this place for a lake view getaway.

What an awesome little cabin for a vacation! Absolutely loved it!! Was pleasantly surprised at how nice it is on the inside. And the deck is the best place for coffee in the morning and a great place to just enjoy the view any time of the day! Had the best weekend and cannot wait to go back!! Thanks, John & Maria...your cabin is amazing!!! Whatever we forgot, you had there for us! Better than any hotel in my opinion!!

Love the location and the value

Second time here, will come again, made upgrades to furniture. Love the cozy home. Expressed to owner the wifi/router was unreliable, hopefully will replace, keeping it 5 stars. Shouldn't need it if you want to enjoy the mountains and the space :)

Abundance of Tranquility.........

  • 5 of 5

Love Julian and absolutely loved staying at this charming and pleasant cabin. The view of the shimmering lake, stately trees and rolling hills from the huge livingroom window is just jawdropping. There was plenty of wood for the fireplace, the beds were incredibly comfortable and grilling steaks on the expansive deck was loads of fun! Saw a couple of magnificent Bald Eagles, wild turkeys leisurely promenaded around the front of the cabin and deer strolled thru the grassy meadow........we definitely felt the nurturing aspects of nature. Julian - we will be back!

Very inviting upon walking through the front door!

  • 5 of 5

Ginny and I really enjoyed the homey rustic feel. Fully equipped with all kitchen utensils, bath towels, phenomenal view of Lake Cuyamaca from the front room and front deck. Will sleep eight, perfect for four, ideal for two! Gas BBQ and dining on the deck.

Ginny and I will be back possibly in the spring!

Great place for a staycation!
