Just wanted to say thanks for our time at the cabin. It was a great experience! Definitely cool and quiet at night which was a welcome change. The kids enjoyed being able to see all of the stars from the deck. The grill worked quite well for hot dogs and corn on the cob. I appreciate your son coming by to make sure all was well. We were blessed in being able to stay there. All the best to you and your family! - Brian & Ericka

We spent the weekend after our wedding at the Piute cabin. One of biggest concerns was having privacy for a nice romantic weekend. I was a bit worried when we pulled up and saw neighbors so close but it turned out to be fine. The living area has a beautiful big window over looking the deck and lake. The fireplace is beautiful and had plenty of firewood. All we wanted to do was curl up on the couch in front of the fire and look out over that view. Unfortunately the couch and loveseat are awful. Old and uncomfortable. Literally my only complaint though. The cabin is clean and cozy. Plenty of blankets, linen, dishes, etc. Only salt and pepper so if you are cooking keep that in mind. We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin and love the friendly people of Julian. We look forward to another stay soon!
We had a such a wonderful time!
This adorable cabin is so close to Lake Cuyamaca. We enjoyed our coffee on the patio every morning (very bundled up, but breathe taking), then enjoyed a walk around the lake. It is so close to the town of Julian for some fresh pie and great eateries. There are tons of linens and pillows. They are just short on wine glasses, so I recommend you bring your own if you enjoy that sort of thing. All over, I great trip and we will be coming back every few months for a little mountain get away.
We are from the OC and we wanted to get away to relax and be around nature and this place was perfect. The views are spectacular, from sunrise to sunset, and stargazing at night. The cabin had everything we needed and the fire place was fully stocked. We couldn't ask for a better location, only a few minutes to the lake and to the main town. I would totally stay here again!
Perfect for a relaxing weekend
I rented this cabin for two couples over a weekend and we loved our stay. Even on an extremely hot weekend, the cabin was cool and comfortable. I was so pleased to find a fully stocked kitchen - plenty of pots and pans, plenty of dishes, everything you need to cook comfortably. The bedrooms were comfortable and cool in the evenings. The best part is the deck - breezy, shaded and with a lovely view of the lake. The owners are pleasant and considerate (they had even opened the windows before we arrived so the cabin was already cool). The location is within a short drive of tons of great hikes, and of course the lake is a very short walk away. I will definitely be back!
My wife and I recently spent our anniversary weekend here and enjoyed ourselves immensely! Beautiful and quiet surroundings. Even in the middle of summer we could not resist building a fire. We hope to stay there again very soon!
I'm a simple guy, WOW this was great!!!
Upon our arrival we were welcomed by some wild turkey . You will not be disappointed, this home was amazing. The view it has is second to none and John was fantastic. Have Fun!!
