A very quiet and relaxing spot for a family vacation.
We love the sound of loons on the lake and the tranquility of it all.
Great time! Swimming, Kayaks, tubes. We had a wonderful visit. Would come back again!
We loved staying in the bunk house for our vacation, but calling this a bunk house does not do it justice. It's really an entire camp with a private porch, driveway, and access to the lake. Mainer call this a camp, but if you're from another state you would call it a cottage or a cabin. It's a lovely place to stay on Sebec Lake. It's close to Sebec Village, Dover-Foxcroft, and Milo. This part of the lake is so peaceful and secluded - a great place to get away from the city. Having lived in the area, it was very convenient for us to visit with family. There is all you need there to cook and eat at the camp, but we didn't cook much during our stay because we went to eat at all my favorite restaurants in the area in between family gatherings. There is a warm gas fired fireplace that really heats up nice on a chilly morning and there are windows and fans all around for ventilation on warmer days. The beds were comfortable and clean. There were dishes and cooking pans, a huge fridge, a good bathroom, a TV with a DVD collection, books to read...everything you'd need. In all this was the ideal place to stay for our trip - I'd say a better place to stay than any hotel within 50 miles or more.

The Yarington's are wonderful, kind hosts and provide a beautiful camp environment and swimming area with a float. It's perfect for families with two beautiful bedrooms, one a bunk room w/ four beds and a large master bedroom with a king size bed. The camp has a nice pine smell and the beautiful deck has a tree-house feel to it, as it is two stories up and looks out onto the lake and woodland (with cute ducks everywhere). We had a wonderful memorable week.
We had a wonderful time at the Yarington Bunkhouse. We accommodated 4 adults and 1 child comfortably but could have had a few more. The views of the lake from the front porch were great, sitting reading a book with the breeze from the lake and the sound of loons was so incredibly relaxing.
Kathadin Mountain is a short drive away and we spent the day hiking and saw a moose! Another short drive to Bangor offers shopping and a movie theater for a rainy day (although we didn't have any!). Dover-Foxcroft a few miles away is a quaint town with antique shops and Wills shop and save that cooks your lobsters for free if you call ahead and give them an hour.
There is so much to do right outside the door, swimming from the dock or out to the raft, kayaking or just lazying by the fire pit making s'mores. Very cozy sitting by the fireplace indoors on chilly evenings. The Bunkhouse has all the accommodations (pots/pans etc.) you need and if that weren't enough Mrs. Yarington brought over homemade ginger cookies!
Then there is the price, you can't beat it and we have been coming to Maine for 20 years.
Worth every penny, would definitely come back to the Yarington Bunkhouse.
The bunkhouse was a great deal for a week on a lake. One bedroom had a king bed, the other has 2 bunk beds...sleeps four kids. Kitchen has everything but an oven. It was very clean and the beds were made. They have 2 kayaks and a canoe and several innertubes for use in the water. They also let us use their grill a couple nights. They even gave us a plate of cookies for the ride to the airport when we left! There was restaurant and laundromat information posted in the kitchen. Great place for a family!
