Honu Hale I - 3BR, 2 Bathroom, sleeps 8 Vacation Rental Mokuleia, Hawaii USA

Why stay in a rental when you can vacation like an owner in this authentic Hawaiian cottage with model furnishings? Experience all the tropical wonders of the North Shore; swim with the turtles, fish, snorkel, kayak, and surf. And if you are brave enough, skydive in your backyard!

Fall asleep to the soothing sound of the waves. Melt into world-class beds and comfortable amenities.

Honu Hale is an authentic Hawaiian beach/oceanfront single story vacation home on the North Shore of Oahu, next to the waters edge.

If you are looking to spend your Hawaiian vacation in a small picturesque town in a secluded area, only 35 minutes from Honolulu, this is the place for you! It has a variety of excellent restaurants and it is a great place for all water-sports, including snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, windsurfing, and kayaking.

Other favorite activities include walking on the beach, fishing, skydiving, horseback riding, tennis, golfing, biking, and hiking the nearby end of the North Shore Road.

Honu Hale is named after the numerous sea turtles that play in our waters. You can enjoy your dinner in the large backyard as the sunsets dazzle you and the cool ocean breezes gently caress you. Isn't this what a tropical paradise is supposed to be?

Honu Hale is situated on the ocean, with unobstructed ocean views and an unbeatably quiet and private location.

Come stay where the people of Oahu come to get away from the crowds. Mokuleia is on Oahu's North Shore, but is a secret to most. It is just 35 minutes from Honolulu, seven minutes from the town of Haleiwa, and 15 minutes from Hawaii's famous Waimea Bay and Pipeline.

There are no hotels in Mokuleia, and we have empty white sand beaches for miles and miles. This is the Hawaii you dreamed of and thought you could only find on the Outer Islands.

A great horseback riding and equestrian center is just across the street.

Enjoy the sunset every day in your backyard from the bubbling Jacuzzi or on the rooftop deck.

Our backyard is your beach - an amazingly beautiful and peaceful setting of nearly private uncrowded beaches. Mokule`ia provides some of Oahu's best and least crowded surfing. Most of our guests enjoy staying close to home and enjoying the ultimate Hawaiian Paradise. Within a 10 minute drive are fine restaurants, quaint shops, a marina for fishing and sightseeing, and North Shore's world famous surfing.

Just a short drive from the nearly private beaches and sets of both popular TV series Lost and Baywatch (Haleiwa). Honu Hale’s location is also a great home base if you are interested in sightseeing. Conveniently located 10 minutes from the H2 Hwy, you can get across the island within 20 minutes.

No events, parties, or weddings allowed.

Guestbook comments from the manager

I have lived in Hawaii for five years now, but this has definitely been one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve had on the island.

The house is a little out of the way from the busy surf scene in Haleiwa, adding to its appeal for me. I live in downtown Honolulu, so getting a reprieve from the city traffic was greatly appreciated. I never get tired of looking out to the ocean and seeing so many stars. I loved unwinding in the hot tub and basking in the stars and full moon.

I definitely recommend any local cuisine. The shrimp trucks are great and there’s a ton of delicious hole-in-the-wall spots in Haleiwa.

For a great time, I highly recommend visiting Pearl Harbor around noon/lunchtime for a minimal wait time. The Polynesian Cultural Center is an excellent way to spend a day. It’s interactive and fun, teaching you a ton about Polynesian Islands. Plus if you do the luau, you won’t be disappointed. They’ve got firedancers, lots of hula, and the food is FANTASTIC! It’s one of the best local food luau’s on the island. Diamond Head and La’ie are great places to hike. Take lots of water and wear good shoes.

Most of all I encourage you to enjoy the house itself. A huge part of Hawaiian lifestyle is just hanging loose and relaxing. This house is your opportunity to get away from things for a while… enjoy it. Don’t underestimate hanging out at the house, soaking up some sun, and taking a dip in the ocean.

PS. Say hello to the turtles for us! Watching the whales was awesome!

Mahalo!

  • 5 of 5

Aloha! Our trip here was wonderful! Your hospitality was so over the top! Your house became our house! Mahalo! Mahalo! Mahalo!

We enjoyed diving with sharks (!!) swimming with the dolphins, snorkeling at Turtle Bay, and Teddie’s Best Burgers (awesome place, really friendly), and shaved ice was everywhere!

“Ha – the Breath of Life” at the Polynesian Cultural Center was really good, as well as Cholo’s Mexican food. We shopped a lot as well, and will definitely be back soon. Mahalo!

Location was perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Spent the last couple days of our vacation just hanging out with each other at the beaches. We had one last night out in Haleiwa, good sushi and Mai Tais. This place was great for a reunion with our son who’s in the military. We will never forget our time here in Hawaii and we loved the house. I’ll bet nobody will ever cook more food than we did!! Aloha and Mahalo.

Great vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful week stay at Honu Hale I. The moment we walked in the front door we fell in love with this place. It is so comfy and beautifully decorated with lots of attention to details. We cooked every day, so really appreciated the fully stocked kitchen! There were even fresh basil leaves in the kitchen to cook with!

Every day the seven of us sat around the big table and shared a meal. We had Yahtzee games and lots of Uno with our 8 year old. Every day he fished from the wall, with no luck, but he still had such a great time!! We saw turtles most days, and couldn’t get enough of watching them. Such magnificent ancient creatures.

We had 6 adults and 1 child in our group and we all did great in this house. Very comfortable time.

The paradise home

  • 5 of 5

Aloha,it was filled with the spirit of aloha.Honu hale1 was a great home than we imagined.

It was clean and decorated with hawaian furniture.Every morning we waked up with the sound of sea,

then at night we looked up shining sky with stars.

It had a lot of things to play marine sports, life jackets, shoes and many beach towels.

It was located near Haleiwa where we enjoyed various foods sold byfood wagons.

It left nothing to be desired!

This home is absolutely amazing!! The ocean views are amazing, close to Haleiwa, where you can shop local, lots of food trucks and shaved ice!! The accommodations were over the top, home was super clean and yard was well manicured. We had everything we could possibly need and morethat...beach towels, snorkel gear, fishing gear, games for the kids, washer/dryer, and a jacuzzi on back porch to enjoy the amazing view of the ocean!! The management company was an absolute pleasure to work with. In addition we had the pleasure of meeting with the caretaker of the property, she was an absolute doll...she gave us lots of tips along and a warm welcome!! We honestly cannot wait to go back!! tbis is a warm and cozy home!!

Highly Recommend!

  • 5 of 5

I traveled with a group of 9 people ranging in age from 17 to 66. We stayed at the Honu Hale 1 home during the month of January. I had done extensive research prior to booking a home, and this home seemed to meet everything on my checklist. However, when we walked in, we were amazed! The pictures simply don’t do it justice and it was far more than even I was expecting. The location could not have been better as you essentially have the best of both worlds-- a short drive either to the city or further up the North Shore to watch the surfers. In addition, the caretaker of the house is a lovely person who goes out of her way to ensure you have everything you need. Everyone in our group completely enjoyed the hot tub, lanai and simply watching the waves roll in as the ocean is your backyard!! This is a house I highly recommend and we will certainly be back in the future!
