About Karen Okupniak
Were Dave and Karen and we'd love to welcome you to our Forever House. Dave grew up in Philly and has been coming to this part of the Jersey Shore all his life. Karen is a transplanted Texan who loves the Shore like a native. Buying this beautiful home was a dream come true for us, and it brings us a lot of joy to share it with people who share our appreciation of its charm.
Karen Okupniak purchased this House in 2008
Why Karen Okupniak chose Village Green
We looked all over before buying this house. We were enamored with the architectural details such as hardwood floors, arched passageways, beautiful woodwork, copper hinges and glass doorknobs. We also appreciated the fact that there are lots of separate areas -- everyone can congregate in the living room, but you can also get away to the front porch, back courtyard or sun porch for private or one-on-one time -- a big plus when traveling with a group.

Gorgeous hardwood floors, lots of light and spacious room to sleep 8!
This is not one of those uber modern homes at the beach but we love the character of this house. Hardwood floors throughout, lots of window and the weather got cooler towards the end of the week so we let the fresh air inside. The side porch is very nice in the morning since no sun hits it but the upstairs bathroom did get hot. My kids enjoyed having televisions in their room and we experienced no wi-fi problems at all. My only complaint was the older range top but the property manager said a new one was downstairs waiting to be installed so we missed out on that. It's one of the few homes we've stayed in where each room is comfortably sized. I also love the older styled doors - it's a solid house.
Regina - Sorry that we weren't able to get the new cooktop installed ahead of your stay but glad that you and your family otherwise enjoyed the house. We hope to welcome you back again soon. - Karen
Love this house!
This is the second time we've stayed here and I would recommend it for people who don't mind a walk to the beach and town and enjoy plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy time with their family.
Clean and very spacious
Before and after booking the owner Karen was great with answering any questions we had for the process and upcoming stay. She was a pleasure to book with. We stayed for a week (July 2018) and did not want to leave. Home was clean and spacious with a lots of character. We all felt very comfortable when we arrived. We brought our bikes down and left them in the back fenced courtyard which was very convenient. Biking to the beach was only about a 5 min ride. Also a easy bike ride to the Washington Street Mall area. We even went to sunset beach and winery on our bikes. Kitchen was nicely updated and well stocked with all the basic items needed. We brought a griddle for the stove for pancakes which was something not supplied in home. There was a BBQ grill but we never used it. The upstairs bathroom was a little strange with the step up to toilet and shower but guess it was a way to add another bathroom to the upstairs space. Beds were comfortable and all rooms were great sizes. The AC units throughout the home kept it cool on the hot days. The Wifi worked great and had no issues getting on it. We really enjoyed our stay at the home and would love to stay again in the future if still available for a rental. We made sure we treated it like our own home and even cleaned it well before leaving. We go to cape may at least 6x a year for short visits so it was lovely to stay the entire week. Hopefully one day we will own a home in Cape May but for now we will rent. Thank you Karen for opening up your home for families like ours to rent.
Thanks so much Mary Lou! We love it when guests enjoy our home as much as we do.
