About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Sleeps 4 (1 queen bed, 1 full bed).

Charming 1950’s, winterized, lakefront summer cottage on Indian Lake. Freshly painted cheery rooms, newly refinished hardwood floors throughout. Picture window offers panoramic view of the Lake and its amazing sunsets. Recently updated with new refrigerator, washer and dryer. Large (new 2012) dock.

The cottage has two bedrooms - one bedroom has sliding doors with small deck facing Lake. The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed and the other, a double bed.

The house has a beautiful deck facing water with plenty of outdoor furniture and a gas grill. There is a beautiful, patio dock (over the water) with built in bench seating. A separate floating deck attached to the dock is great for launching canoe or kayak (or catching fish with a net).

Quiet peaceful location for adults with lots for kids to do too. Property is adjacent to Association maintained private beach and across the street from Association recreational area with open field, basketball court and small playground.

Spend the day at the ocean and return home for a dip in the lake and watch the sunset - perfect combination. Local property owner is happy to offer help selecting restaurants, beaches and activities.

The house is 800 sq. ft. Tenants must abide by the Indian Lake Association rules. Renter parties are not allowed.

Long term rental is available for the entirety of the time Sept-May/June 1st—w/off-season monthly rate.

This was our family summer home for 50+ years. My father built the cottage in 1952. We adore it and hope you will too!

Beautiful views all year long!

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed here for two winters in a row. We absolutely loved our time here and have fond memories. We have two young children, they had a great time playing on the dock, the beach and the little playground across the road. The views are absolutely beautiful at all the times the year, everyday the lake looks different. In the winter we would venture out and do a bit of ice skating, the kids loved it! I've never felt so calm and relaxed. The owners are local and fabulous. They were responsive, dependable and always quickly got back to us whenever we needed anything. This is a wonderful place for a school year rental!!

Perfect family vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

We spent our last two summer family vacations at the cottage which proved to be perfect for us. The dock is perfect for fishing, catching a sunset, and for relaxing while enjoying the wildlife, like passing swans. The neighborhood is quiet and perfect for bike riding or jogging. The park across the street gives the kids a chance to shoot hoops if they don't want to play in the yard. Having access to a canoe and kayaks was a perfect way to enjoy the lake and fishing. The cottage is very close to a beautiful beach....all within a few minutes drive includes markets, shopping, bike path, restaurants, movies, etc. Judy was very accommodating; provided all of the essentials within the cottage as well as many recommendations that were spot on. We've really enjoyed ourselves and felt at ease knowing the owners would be able to help if something were to come up....both vacations were enjoyable and we look forward to going back each year!

Judy made our stay much more than just a "check in- check out" experience....we felt like it was a home away from home...yup, that comfortable! Sure to be a perfect experience for any small family or couple!

A beautiful place in the world

  • 5 of 5

My family vacationed at this sweet historic cottage this summer -- lucky us!!

This is not a typical beach rental. Staying here really feels more like visiting a friend's vacation home. The owners are generous and responsive. They love their little house and everything is 'just so' in the best ways. The property is well maintained, and the furnishings are simple and tasteful. All the necessities were provided including clean new towels and nice bedding.

Some of the highlights include the beautiful new deck -- the photos on this site don't do it justice. Watching the sunset over the lake from the deck is unforgettable. Another highlight is the lake itself. Indian Lake is a very beautiful place, a great lake for swimming and kayaking. It's perfect for my little kids. The beaches and restaurants nearby are great. The generous water sport gear provided by the owners, including the canoe and kayaks and fishing nets really added to our enjoyment.

The experience was a perfect Rhode Island summer vacation.

My Peaceful Summer Respote

  • 5 of 5

I don't know where to start. The cottage is lovely inside. Bright and airy with windows and all four sides. All the modern amenities as listed, including Internet and a variety of water options including a canoe, kayaks, lifejackets..the whole nine yards. A lovely deck with great sunset view....along with a great morning view from the deck off the bedroom.

What really stood out was the care the owners have taken to make sure guests are comfortable. There were many menus and guides to area activities. The kitchen, laundry, and bath area were fully stocked with cleansers, paper goods, condiments, etc. The front entry and back deck were well lit for ease of nightime entry. You just need to bring your personal items, food, coffee, and you're good to go. The owners have handled everything else. AND a beautiful garden in the back, and flowerpots at the entrance reflect the owner's love of nature...not something you always see at these types of places.

And it's perfectly situated for access to the beaches and restaurants...right off Rte 1 although it is so quiet and peaceful, you would never know you were near a highway. I highly recommend this to almost anyone.

Nearest Airport : TF Greene Airport, Warwick, RI at 20 Miles Nearest Barpub : Many at 1 Miles Nearest Ferry : Block Island Ferry at 7 Miles Nearest Golf : Many at 5 Miles Nearest Train : Kingston Station, Kingston, RI at 7 Miles Nearest Motorway : Route 1 at 0.25 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Many at 1 Miles Nearest Ski : Yawgoo Valley at 15 Miles Nearest Beach : Narragansett Beach, Narragansett, RI at 6 Miles Car: necessary

Swim, boat, relax, sit on the deck and dock.

Again, the house is perfectly located to enjoy ocean beaches and shoreline attractions (Newport, Jamestown, Narragansett, Block Island) by day, then return to watch the sunset over the Lake at night. However, staying at the Lake all day is a great option too! Swimming, boating, fishing or just floating around on a raft are all good choices.

The nearest town with all conveniences is Wakefield and it is 5-8 minutes by car. Wakefield has many restaurants, grocery stores and has a wonderful six mile bike path that is considered one of the premiere paths in the Northeast (bikes not provided). Nearby Narragansett is known for its beautiful beaches, rocky shoreline, surfing and ocean side restaurants. There are many seasonal activities nearby in Narragansett, Watch Hill, Wickford, Newport and Jamestown such as outdoor concerts, seafood festivals and art shows. A movie theater is a 5 minutes drive and is a nice option to have for a rainy day. Advice on activities from local resident, owner is available if you like.
