About Judith Warburton
This was our family summer home for 50+ years. My father built the cottage in 1952. We adore it and hope you will too! Please be safe, have fun and treat our cottage kindly.
Judith Warburton purchased this House in 1952
Why Judith Warburton chose South Kingstown
Our property features amazing, ever- changing views of the lake. Sitting on the deck and/or dock is just.... relaxing. You have the benefit of being near all that South Kingstown/Narragansett can retreat from the "summer crowds" whenever you reach your limit!
What makes this House unique
Lakefront near RI beaches. Spend the day at the ocean and come home to enjoy the sunset over the lake. What could be better? Deck, dock, swimming - playground and basketball court short walk across street (not close enough to disturb you at home!). Easy living. Near beaches but, far enough "removed" to escape tourists when you have had enough! :)
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Summer Family Stay
Judith's little cabin on the lake was a perfect spot for our family stay. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed and it was a peaceful retreat and gathering spot. Thanks for helping make our vacation a great family memory!
So glad you enjoyed it! Wish the weather had been better for you. Next time it will be? You guys were awesome. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
Relaxing stay for the 4 of us. We come to Narragansett every year. This is our family's favorite place to stay because we could go to the beach in the morning, and then come back to the house in the afternoon where there was plenty for the kids to do (fish on the lake, swim, paddle board, canoe, and play at nearby playground). The view is beautiful all day long and there is a nice sunset every evening over the lake. The owner takes very good care of the home, and is a pleasure to rent from. Indian lake is a hidden gem of the area, and this home has a prime spot. Will definitely stay here again.
Thank you for the kind words! I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay. That makes me happy. Best wishes to you and your family~
Perfect family vacation spot!
We spent our last two summer family vacations at the cottage which proved to be perfect for us. The dock is perfect for fishing, catching a sunset, and for relaxing while enjoying the wildlife, like passing swans. The neighborhood is quiet and perfect for bike riding or jogging. The park across the street gives the kids a chance to shoot hoops if they don't want to play in the yard. Having access to a canoe and kayaks was a perfect way to enjoy the lake and fishing. The cottage is very close to a beautiful beach....all within a few minutes drive includes markets, shopping, bike path, restaurants, movies, etc. Judy was very accommodating; provided all of the essentials within the cottage as well as many recommendations that were spot on. We've really enjoyed ourselves and felt at ease knowing the owners would be able to help if something were to come up....both vacations were enjoyable and we look forward to going back each year!
Judy made our stay much more than just a "check in- check out" experience....we felt like it was a home away from home...yup, that comfortable! Sure to be a perfect experience for any small family or couple!
Beautiful views all year long!
My family stayed here for two winters in a row. We absolutely loved our time here and have fond memories. We have two young children, they had a great time playing on the dock, the beach and the little playground across the road. The views are absolutely beautiful at all the times the year, everyday the lake looks different. In the winter we would venture out and do a bit of ice skating, the kids loved it! I've never felt so calm and relaxed. The owners are local and fabulous. They were responsive, dependable and always quickly got back to us whenever we needed anything. This is a wonderful place for a school year rental!!
A beautiful place in the world
My family vacationed at this sweet historic cottage this summer -- lucky us!!
This is not a typical beach rental. Staying here really feels more like visiting a friend's vacation home. The owners are generous and responsive. They love their little house and everything is 'just so' in the best ways. The property is well maintained, and the furnishings are simple and tasteful. All the necessities were provided including clean new towels and nice bedding.
Some of the highlights include the beautiful new deck -- the photos on this site don't do it justice. Watching the sunset over the lake from the deck is unforgettable. Another highlight is the lake itself. Indian Lake is a very beautiful place, a great lake for swimming and kayaking. It's perfect for my little kids. The beaches and restaurants nearby are great. The generous water sport gear provided by the owners, including the canoe and kayaks and fishing nets really added to our enjoyment.
The experience was a perfect Rhode Island summer vacation.
My Peaceful Summer Respote
I don't know where to start. The cottage is lovely inside. Bright and airy with windows and all four sides. All the modern amenities as listed, including Internet and a variety of water options including a canoe, kayaks, lifejackets..the whole nine yards. A lovely deck with great sunset view....along with a great morning view from the deck off the bedroom.
What really stood out was the care the owners have taken to make sure guests are comfortable. There were many menus and guides to area activities. The kitchen, laundry, and bath area were fully stocked with cleansers, paper goods, condiments, etc. The front entry and back deck were well lit for ease of nightime entry. You just need to bring your personal items, food, coffee, and you're good to go. The owners have handled everything else. AND a beautiful garden in the back, and flowerpots at the entrance reflect the owner's love of nature...not something you always see at these types of places.
And it's perfectly situated for access to the beaches and restaurants...right off Rte 1 although it is so quiet and peaceful, you would never know you were near a highway. I highly recommend this to almost anyone.
Thank you so much Joyce for the kind review! I am so glad that you appreciated our cottage as it is has been in the family so long and is very special to us. And, we absolutely appreciated meeting you! Best to you always, Judith
Swim, boat, relax, sit on the deck and dock.
Again, the house is perfectly located to enjoy ocean beaches and shoreline attractions (Newport, Jamestown, Narragansett, Block Island) by day, then return to watch the sunset over the Lake at night. However, staying at the Lake all day is a great option too! Swimming, boating, fishing or just floating around on a raft are all good choices.
The nearest town with all conveniences is Wakefield and it is 5-8 minutes by car. Wakefield has many restaurants, grocery stores and has a wonderful six mile bike path that is considered one of the premiere paths in the Northeast (bikes not provided). Nearby Narragansett is known for its beautiful beaches, rocky shoreline, surfing and ocean side restaurants. There are many seasonal activities nearby in Narragansett, Watch Hill, Wickford, Newport and Jamestown such as outdoor concerts, seafood festivals and art shows. A movie theater is a 5 minutes drive and is a nice option to have for a rainy day. Advice on activities from local resident, owner is available if you like.
