Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, 6 Sleeps

Enjoy a quiet, peaceful vacation in a secluded rustic original Lucerne-in-Maine cabin nestled among mature trees on the side of a mountain. Our cabin, built in 1929, has 2 bedrooms, a screened porch, a sun filled dining room, and, a 16x24 ft. deck, all overlooking scenic views of Phillips Lake and the surrounding mountains. You will enjoy the outdoors the entire time you spend at our cabin. We have provided almost all the amentities you will need; including all cooking utensils, linens, outdoor furniture, fire pit, propane or charcoal grill. Or, spend some quiet time in the cabin enjoying a fire in the granite fireplace while watching the 42" tv with directv, dvd player, WIFI, and much more.

When you venture out to explore Maine's beauty; you will be located 10 - 15 miles from Bangor / Brewer, Maine to the north & Ellsworth, Maine to the south; both of these areas have Super Walmarts and any other possible ammenity you may need.

Further to the south (34 miles) is Bar Harbor, Maine; Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park. Or, take a drive down coastal Rt. 1, where you can stop at several roadside flea markets, antique shops, scenic views, and, restaurants along the way.

To the north is Moosehead Lake in Greenville, Maine where you will enjoy more scenic views. Moosehead Lake is 40 miles long where a ride on the 'Katadin' river boat is a wicked way to capture all the views including Mt. Kineo.

A short distance further to the north is Baxter State Park. This area is more than 20 sq. miles of forest to explore with scenic water falls, lakes, wildlife, and the magnificant Mt. Katahdin...the largest mountain in Maine.

I have lived in this area for 18 years, and I have not been able to see everything Maine has to offer.

We have thought of almost everything! All you will need to bring is groceries, your clothes, family, friends, and your toothbrush!

Come join us for an amazing, restful vacation; fulfilled with beautiful, peaceful scenic views of Maine. I believe you will come back again and again.

If there is anything we may have forgotten or something special you would need during your stay, please ask.

Perfect cabin in Maine

  • 5 of 5

I spent two nights here with my father and my two young children. The cabin is very well built and has everything you need from a coffee maker and full kitchen to extra blankets and a roll out third bed. The pictures don't do it justice. It is a really sweet spot. The fireplace is beautiful and works well, but they also supply an electric heater if you prefer. You really cannot beat it for the price and everything provided. My dad could have moved in and lived the rest of his life there he was so happy. This is our go to spot from now on.

Cozy and Quaint

  • 5 of 5

The property was up in the woods and I liked that very much. It has so many quaint decorating touches both inside and out that made it feel like home. It is definitely an older home yet it was clean and cozy inside.

Very nice secluded cabin in the woods, very quite tremendous views !

  • 5 of 5

There was everything you needed and more, about an hour from Bar Harbor. A large deck where we relaxed and grilled. Very handy to Arcadia where there are an abundance of things to do.

We were just looking to relax and enjoy the quiet!

Especially enjoyed the fireplace in the mornings to take the chill off. A great piece of property!

Exceeded expectations

  • 5 of 5

We felt like friends of the family in Jim's getaway cabin, not renters. Charming backwoods decor, thoughtful amenities, written notes from previous guests...all evidence of engagement. Enjoyed easy access to the Schoodic Peninsula, the lesser visited east side of Acadia (not crowded; authentic). Look for The Maine Sculpture Tour, an outdoor exhibit of 34 sculptures hugging the coast and don't miss Schoodic Point, former naval base. Try the pickled wrinkles at the restaurant/bar of the same name in Birch Harbor. Note: the drive around Acadia is one way from Winter Harbor to Birch Harbor.

Locally, from the cabin, follow Sunset Rd to the end, park, and take the right-most trail to Sunset Rock (500 ft??) for an even better view of Phillips Lake. Use the exquisite fireplace!! Thanks, Jim!
