Second year at this location.
Lovely location, beautiful view of lake and sunsets. Wonderful property manager.
Great location for outdoor vacation with young kids
The location was perfect for our four and two year olds. Brian was great, very helpful. The cabin is small like advertised but has plenty of beds and internet is sufficient for multiple devices at once. Overall it was a very relaxing location. Will probably return.
We had a great family vacation here. Water was perfect for small children very shallow neare shoreline. We enjoyed several kickball games on the large lawn. Plenty of extra space to have family and friends over for the day. We did rent the boat and had several days of fun riding on it and swimming in deeper waters off it. The outside shower was helpful to rinse sand off before coming into house. Large refrigerator. Large newer grill. Two of the bedrooms in the front of the house do not have doors and one has an open wall directly into living room. This made it difficult to sleep well in those rooms. Furniture and beds very old worn. One of the front bedrooms did not have air-conditioning. The front screen door was broken. No dishwasher.
Screen Door has been fixed and the couch in the living room is brand new(as of 7/28/19) and is a sleeper sofa. We do not advertise a dishwasher. The bedroom that does not have an air conditioner is off the the main room as stays cool from the unit in the living room. We are replacing some of the mattresses for 2020 but would disagree that they are worn out.
Perfect get-away cottage
The sunsets were amazing, and the location was perfect. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we have had. We also loved having the boat for the week! Thanks for everything!
We had a family group of 8 adults & 2 children, with other family visiting during the week. We had a wonderful week. The breeze off the lake for the first 3 days was fantastic. There is a tire swing that the kids fell in love with. The yard is huge and shaded for the better part of the day and certainly large enough for volleyball or badminton. We did set up the croquet on the lawn and we set up our horseshoes on the beach. On the 4th of July the fireworks around the lake were so cool, almost all the way around. The camp itself is clean & bright & we certainly filled it up. The washer/dryer and the a/c's were a god send at the end of the week. Brian & Meg, it was very nice to meet you, and Jameson (LOL). Thank You so much!!
GREAT LOCATION ON THE LAKE. CLOSE ENOUGH TO RUN TO SYLVAN BEACH OR GRAB MORNING COFFEE, BUT QUIET AND PRIVATE. COTTAGE WAS CLEAN AND WELL STOCKED. THE YARD IS HUGE AND WELL KEPT. BIG PLUS...SOME OF THE BEST FISHING SPOTS ON THE LAKE ARE WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF THE DOCK. LOCATION CANT BE BEAT.
We could not ask for nicer guests! We would highly recommend anyone to host and we hope to host them in the future!
Oneida Lake is considered the 'thumb' of the finger lakes (because of its east to west orientation) and is 7 miles wide by 21 miles long. Great fishing (bass, walleye, pan fish), swimming, Sylvan Beach area (turn of the century amusement park), Turning Stone Casino, 3 Championship Golf Courses, International Boxing Hall of Fame, Revolutionary War sites (Fort Stanwix and the Battle of Oriskany site) and various Erie Canal Museums (Rome and Chittenango). The location of the cottage makes for easy day trips to locations and attractions such as the Thousand Islands, Alexandria
Bay, Boldt Castle and Singer Castle, the Antique Boat Museum in
Clayton, Old Forge, the Adirondack Museum, the Finger Lake wineries
and the various 'wine trails,' Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of
Fame, Sterling Renaissance Fair, Corning Museum of Glass, Oswego's Harbor Fest, Turning Stone Casino, the Madison Bouckville Antique Fest, the Great New York
State Fair, Carousel Mall, the Carrier Dome, as well as visits to, and parents' weekends at, Syracuse University, Utica College, Hamilton College, SUNY Oswego, SUNY Cortland, SUNY ESF, LeMoyne College, Morrisville State College, Onondaga, Community College, SUNY Upstate Medical University, Cazenovia College, Ithaca College, and Cornell University.A great lake to Kayak or boat on. There are many launches within a mile of the house. 10 minutes from Turning Stone Resort and Casino. Sylvan Beach is a 7 miles away and is a turn of the century amusement park right on the Erie Canal and Oneida Lake.
