Beautiful setting!

  • 4 of 5

The house and location are beautiful! Mark was very responsive to any questions I had leading up to our stay and left us a phone number to contact him, but I had no cell reception while there. The only disappointments were not catching any fish (not the owner's fault), wifi, and the dock and kayak. The wifi was quite slow, so don't plan to use your netflix account. The shore end of the dock was submerged most of the week so we couldn't use it without getting our feet wet (and it was a chilly week). The dock was also quite unsteady. The kayak only had one paddle, which had a broken end. I tried messaging him from this site while there, but the page would not load, so had no way of contacting him. That was frustrating. The owners did provide many nice touches such as bug candles, sticks for roasting marshmallows, a plethora of board games, plenty of towels and blankets and even laundry soap. Overall it was a nice relaxing place.

Owner's Response: Hi Katina and Chad, We appreciate the nice comments about the extras that we provide. As for trying to use your netflix account, our internet service cannot handle streaming video games or movies. Direct TV is available with HBO channels and we have a wide variety of DVDs. I'm glad you enjoyed your week here and thank you for staying here.

Nice get away!

  • 4 of 5

Huge home can fit a lot of people. My wife and I took a nice long weekend out just us two and this was a home that we wanted right on the water! Great view beautiful fire place area. They had a few water options (canoe and kayak) but it seemed like they were outside for sometime as they were covered in a few webs and not cleaned out. However the view and the quietness we did not need them. It was great just to relax. Kitchen was a nice size and at night the tv was really nice to wind down to. Great communication with the owner he even left some extra fire wood for us per request. The balcony outside was good might of used just a quick clean but when your in the woods that's just how it goes. Grill was good enough for hot dogs and a burger. Overall we loved our stay it's the ideal getaway and the RR we were looking for.

600 Waterbury Road Redfield, NY

Outstanding! The place was clean and very comfortable. Big screen and hi-def TV was nice as was WIFI (as advertised). Price was VERY reasonable. Mark was always prompt with responses to any notes that I sent to him. If there is any negative, it is the water quality. There is a distinct smell of sulfur in the water supply. The water cooler as well as the several bottles we brought along resolved the problem, but the problem was bothersome. For several adult men going salmon fishing, that's one thing, but I would consider renting the property for my family (including grandchildren) during the summer if it were not for that problem. I don't know if it is "fixable", but it is certainly worth pursuing if possible.

Great summer get away

  • 5 of 5

This home was a perfect spot for late summer getaway. The backyard and lake front was a great way to relax or enjoy yard games with friends. The interior of the house was clean and had everything we needed. Would recommend bring plenty of rafts to enjoy floating on the reservoir.

The perfect secluded family getaway spot!

  • 5 of 5

The property and house were absolutely amazing! It was everything that was advertised and more. The yard was secluded and the reservoir was just gorgeous. The entire family had a blast fishing, kayaking and swimming. The birds were great to watch and we even had the pleasure of observing several bald eagles!

The house it self was well stocked with plenty of kitchen ware and condiments from previous visitors. We actually brought way more than we needed to. The house was very clean and had all of the modern luxuries to keep us occupied when it rained. Plenty of extra bedding for a few surprise visitors. We had a perfect family vacation and will definitely book again next summer.

Everything you need to relax

  • 4 of 5

Whether it is sitting by the fire, fishing in the lake, jumping off the trampoline into the lake, or reading one of the many books available to guests this house has what you need. Location is remote, but there's falls near by to do a hike. We would definitely go back!
