About Kristin Schwab
I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and have resided in Philadelphia since 2003. I am a cooking instructor and community chef. I love nothing more than to host meals and gatherings at our shore home. I hope you will enjoy sharing it with those close to you as well.
Kristin Schwab purchased this House in 1995
Why Kristin Schwab chose Ocean City
Ever since I was a kid, I have enjoyed going down the shore to Ocean City. My parents never owned a house in OCNJ, but my godmother did. When I was younger, we would stay with her for one week each summer. When I became a teenager, my father purchased this house. Ever since, we have shared it with friends and family throughout the year. Sadly, my dad passed away in 2005 and left the house to me. Ever since, I have rented it during the season and shared it with friends and family during the off season. I have rented through Vacation Rentals since 2011. In 2012, the home was hit by Hurricane Sandy. I spent a year and a half elevating and renovating the home. After putting in much TLC and brand new EVERYTHING, I was once again able to rent the home starting in the summer of 2014. I am excited to share our sunny beach-themed home with you. I hope you will enjoy Ocean City as much as I always have.
What makes this House unique
I love our home's natural light and close proximity to sunsets over the bay (see the picture). In the morning, you can read the paper in the sunroom or watch people ride by on their bicycles. Our house is conveniently located far enough away from the boardwalk to be quiet and close enough to be able to enjoy it throughout the day.

Out of Town Travelers
This home definitely had its pluses and minuses. On the plus side it was clean and we really liked the location. 14th street is a great area. The size of the house was decent with four bedrooms and the kitchen was very well stocked with dishes etc. We also loved that it had a washer/dryer. On the minus side the water pressure was pretty bad. It is also a bit unsafe for older people and children. We came with my 72 year old father. The outside stairs are steep and the door opens out to an area as big as the door opening. Getting in and out was precarious. There was also a step once you walk in that we literally tripped on a dozen times and a spiral staircase that our son hit his head on. There were bumpers on two of the steps, but several that were exposed. The two bedrooms with bunk beds had fans that were literally inches above the top bunks. It was not safe for children. Lastly, we flew in and so we didn’t have the ability to bring towels & sheets. Apparently this is an ocean city rental rule. When I asked the owners they said there are tons of concierge in the area, but she didn’t have a recommendation. That would’ve been helpful. All in all we had a nice stay, but for our family & circumstances, it wasn’t great. If you have no young children or older folks this place is awesome.
Wonderful and relaxing
Our family had a great stay at the bungalow. We appreciated the updated feel, the cleanliness of the home and the easy communication with the owner. We plan to rebook.
Would stay here again!!
My family and I had a great time. House is everything you see online. Comfortable and very clean!
Clean spacious vacation home
We throughly enjoyed our stay. The property is “so fresh and so clean , clean.”
Clean Modern Home for Opening Weekend
It was just my mom, myself, and my son in this many bedroom apartment. The place is just a few short blocks from the boardwalk as advertised. We had a great breakfast at OC Surf Cafe on the main downtown inlet road, which itself is less than mile away. Enjoyed walking along the beach at Corson Inlet State Park a short drive down the peninsula. Had fun playing 11 games of skeeball for $1 which is a short walk near the boardwalk. We spent a day in Atlantic City and did a race there - that's about a 25-35 minute drive.
Place itself was modernized (updated kitchen) with lots of beds as advertised, one shower, good internet. My 5 year old son love sleeping in the loft, and climbing the spiral stairs. One downside was having to bring own linens, which was spelled out in the contract, but not mentioned in the listing. That was hard to pack since we flew in. Also, will need to supply own soap/shampoo - FYI. Everything in the house was great. Love the big Jersey map, and cupboard of games and information. Wish the deck was bigger - little tricky to get luggage in, but we managed ok. Parking is on street. Because it was opening weekend, Ocean City was largely quiet, so it was easy for us to find a spot. Not sure how hard that might be on a busy weekend.
Communication was easy, seamless. Just be prepared for a detailed contract and large deposit. But didn't have any problems with communication or checking on.
Thank you for this review. For future guests, a few corrections: we have three off street parking spaces on the east side of the house. For a deposit, we charge the standard $59 non-refundable property damage protection plan fee which covers guests for up to $1500 worth of damages. This guest chose to pay $1500 for a refundable security deposit. We appreciate the feedback about the Ocean City linen policy and have edited our listing accordingly. In addition, all items that are provided are indicated on the amenities tab of the listing. If you have any additional questions about our home, please be in touch.
Cozy and convenient
We spent a pre-wedding, relaxation weekend here with friends and loved it! The house was spotless and had everything we needed to be very comfortable. It is conveniently located a few blocks from the boardwalk and beach so we were able to stroll back and forth as much as we pleased. We loved the tasteful beach motif decor. We hope to stay here again and again!
This property is located in Ocean City, New Jersey. Ocean City is a family oriented resort town located on an island along the Atlantic Ocean about 20 minutes south of the Atlantic City casinos. There is a music pier entertainment venue built out over the ocean for concerts and other events.
