Beautiful cabin by the water!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was even more beautiful than the pictures. We had such a wonderful week. We brought our tandem kayak and were able to drop it in the water right from the beach and kayak all day, catching mackerel. Tony was a wonderful host and we had everything we needed and more. We will definitely return!

The Americana- a cozy, quiet oasis!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay and our friendly hosts Tony and Dottie. This was our second summer coming for the Bay of Fundy marathon. The cabin is cozy and peaceful and the kitchen well supplied for cooking simple meals. Everything is always neat and tidy with fresh sheets and towels. The ocean is just a short stroll from the cabin. The water is cold but the view is breathtaking! Many thanks and see you next year for the Bay of Fundy 2019 Marathon!

Beautiful, relaxing and convenient,

  • 5 of 5

The Americana Log Cabin was ideal for us to enjoy this amazing and beautiful corner of our country. It provided us a central location from which to enjoy the numerous local sights, A comfortable cabin to “chill” and read on the porch, walk along the beach or prepare delicious locally purchased seafood in a very accommodating kitchen. Tony and Dottie are wonderful hosts and take pride in their property and community. Unfortunately, we could stay for only 4 nights and had to leave many sights, hikes, shops and restaurants waiting for our return.

a last minute rental

  • 5 of 5

I messed up with my first rental and was able to stay here. While it was not directly on the bay, it was very private; offered everything we needed to do laundry, cook, and was close to the activities we had planned. So glad we could stay here.

Perfect cabin near the ocean

  • 5 of 5

We had an abosolutely great weekend getaway at the Americana cabin. It's cute and comfortable, offering just about everything you can think of that you might need. We loved the short walk to the beach and enjoyed visiting it daily during our stay- and even enjoyed lobsters on the beach the last night! Beautiful place- lovely area to explore and relax in. Would highly recommend it!

Lubec is home to the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, at the easternmost point of land in the contiguous U.S. The Down East area showcases nature at her finest. Whales, eagles, osprey, moose, and bear inhabit the region. During migration season, whales pass close enough to be seen from shore! Local whale and puffin tours provide the opportunity to observe nature up close and personal. Beach roses, wild iris, and beach peas line the pristine shoreline. The area is host to three state parks, two international parks, a national wildlife refuge, and several nature preserves, all of which offer a variety of well maintained hiking trails. The area is rich in history—the first naval battle of the Revolutionary War was fought in nearby Machiasport. Maine's own "Cannery Row" lined the waterfronts of Lubec and Eastport with sardine canning factories. You'll find it all here—rich history, spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife, and friendly people. You won't find pollution, crowds, or traffic jams.
