a last minute rental

I messed up with my first rental and was able to stay here. While it was not directly on the bay, it was very private; offered everything we needed to do laundry, cook, and was close to the activities we had planned. So glad we could stay here.

Perfect cabin near the ocean

  • 5 of 5

We had an abosolutely great weekend getaway at the Americana cabin. It's cute and comfortable, offering just about everything you can think of that you might need. We loved the short walk to the beach and enjoyed visiting it daily during our stay- and even enjoyed lobsters on the beach the last night! Beautiful place- lovely area to explore and relax in. Would highly recommend it!

We where there for three days in early August. The seals came to visit the beach each morning...they where literally 10-15 yards off the private beach for at least an hour each day. The cabin was fully stocked with amenities and the owners where a joy to deal with. We will be back.

Enjoyed our long weekend. Clean and comfortable cabin surrounded by the beauty of nature. Mr Bartholomew welcomed us to his property and was available but let us enjoy privacy.

Lubec is home to the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, at the easternmost point of land in the contiguous U.S. The Down East area showcases nature at her finest. Whales, eagles, osprey, moose, and bear inhabit the region. During migration season, whales pass close enough to be seen from shore! Local whale and puffin tours provide the opportunity to observe nature up close and personal. Beach roses, wild iris, and beach peas line the pristine shoreline. The area is host to three state parks, two international parks, a national wildlife refuge, and several nature preserves, all of which offer a variety of well maintained hiking trails. The area is rich in history—the first naval battle of the Revolutionary War was fought in nearby Machiasport. Maine's own "Cannery Row" lined the waterfronts of Lubec and Eastport with sardine canning factories. You'll find it all here—rich history, spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife, and friendly people. You won't find pollution, crowds, or traffic jams.
