About Susan Bacastow
Polly is a Regional EHS manager at ADT and Sue is an attorney. Sue is an adjunct professor in the College of Professional Studies at Villanova University in Villanova, PA. Polly teaches at Drexel University where she is pursuing a doctorate in Information Studies. In addition to the Victoria Inn, we own and operate our Wellington Oasis (VRBO Listing #995401), a spectacular home in the heart of Wellington (Palm Beach County, Florida) - the Winter Equestrian Capital of the World. Fortunately, Polly is quite handy and enjoys making improvements to the Inn. Sue is constantly redecorating, so returning guests always find something new! We are both avid antique collectors. Most weekends, time permitting, we are at estate sales, garage sales, or antique stores. It’s one of our favorite ways to spend an afternoon. We’ve had so much fun renovating, furnishing and decorating our house. A recent guest told us she could “feel the love in every room”. If you are looking for a true home away from home, this is your vacation home!

Why Susan Bacastow chose Ocean City
WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! We love the history, architecture and charm of old homes. Our house was built in 1915 and we have spent the last 15 years renovating the Victoria Inn, making it an idyllic vacation retreat. We love old homes and the family-friendly atmosphere of Ocean City - a fun, safe place to vacation. OC has won many awards and was recently named the greatest family vacation resort by Travel magazine. It's comforting to allow the children to explore the town without worrying about bars on every corner as found in many other south jersey beach towns. We are located 1 block to the beach and 2.5 mile boardwalk. Every block of our fabulous beach is guarded, & the 7th Street beach is a guarded beach only for surfing. With so much to do, you can walk anywhere and avoid paying for parking! The boardwalk has 2 great amusement piers, a water park, several mini-golf courses, music pier, arcades, surf shops, a movie theater, dozens of stores, and every kind of 'fun food' imaginable: ice cream, pizza, salt water taffy, caramel corn, water ice, candy, fudge, French fries, seafood, smoothies, cotton candy, and more. We are just a couple of blocks to the 100+ shops and many restaurants on Asbury Avenue, a great shopping venue for a girls' weekend or a break from the hot sun! Less than a block from our home you will find 12 tennis courts, a track, football field, shuffleboard courts, basketball court, & beach volleyball. You can rent bicycles for a morning ride on the boardwalk. Just a few blocks away is the bay where you can rent jet skis, go deep sea fishing, crabbing, enjoy a whale & dolphin watching cruise, go parasailing, or enjoy a delicious meal. If you just want to relax, our wrap-around deck is a terrific spot to savor your morning coffee, read a book, play a game, people watch, or enjoy cocktails. The courtyard is perfect for celebrations with seating for 40!
What makes this Condo unique
The Victoria Inn is a truly unique setting for fantastic summer vacations, intimate weddings, fabulous birthday parties, memorable anniversaries, festive holiday celebrations, & fun-filled family reunions. Polly and I especially enjoy hosting weddings, & will gladly assist you in planning the perfect event! Our lovely, partially enclosed courtyard, reminiscent of a French Cafe, has seating for 40 at gorgeous cast aluminum furniture with many potted, hanging & climbing flowers, & hundreds of fairy lights. The courtyard features stunning pavers and a raised garden, making it a spectacular setting for celebrations! With accommodations for up to 40, the Victoria Inn provides a reasonably priced retreat venue. Meeting space for large groups is available just a few blocks away. We will gladly assist with reservations. From mid-June to the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend, we have weekly rentals only. However, we rent year-round. From September to mid-June, a 2 night minimum stay is required, except for holidays with a 3 night minimum. In addition to celebrations, guests have gathered for Creative Memories Scrap-booking, Mah-Jong weekends, yoga, spiritual, & youth retreats. Ocean City also hosts many special events including the M.S. Bike-a-thon, ALS walk, antique car show, Spring & Fall Block Parties, craft shows, art shows, Easter Egg Hunt with 100,000 eggs, Decorated Hat Parade, Halloween Festivities, Trick-or-Treating, Hayrides on the boardwalk, Music Festivals, Breakfast with Santa & Free Horse & Carriage Rides! Just steps from our house are all of the fabulous First Night (New Year's) Activities with fireworks, rides, musicians, shows & magicians. Conveniently located, 20 minutes to Atlantic City’s casinos & terrific shopping outlets; 30 minutes to historic Cape May with its famous zoo, many antique stores, dozens of shops, Victorian homes & fantastic restaurants, 1 hour to Philadelphia, & 2.5 hours to NY City.

We loved the area and the neighborhood. It was at the beginning of the block to the boardwalk, so a 10 minute walk got you to it. The courtyard looked really nice, but it was a little cool for using it for breakfast. The living quarters (Kitchen/living room) were adequate for less people (Definitely not 9!!, as we had 7, three of which were 5 and under), however, the bedrooms were overcrowded by the beds being oversized. The bedroom with the king size bed had the bed and a dresser, and very little walk space. There was no walking space at the head, foot and right side of the bed. You literally walked into the room alongside the bed and turned around and came back out. Making the bed was done by trying to lie on the bed while tucking in the sheet and the same for undoing it. The bedroom that had the attached bathroom had a bunk bed; double on the bottom, single on the top and a queen sized bed as well. Our grandchildren slept there while we slept in the room with the king bed and cramped quarters. My daughter and her husband slept in a room that had a queen and a dresser, which was also very tight. We shared a bathroom in the hall. The bedroom with the king bed should have been in the room where the queen/bunk bed was (and attached bathroom) and the double bunk in the room where the king bed was. WAY to much sleeping amount for the size of the house. I guess if you are looking for a place with a lot of sleeping area and are going to be out the rest of the time, this is for you. Thankfully we had great weather except for check-in day and only had breakfast in.
Philip, I'm sorry you did not enjoy the condo despite being given a very early check-in time and a very late check-out. We work very hard to make our condos comfortable and affordable, and just had two beautiful new tiled baths installed in June (2019). We did switch the king and queen beds this fall. However, the room with the king bed also has twin/twin bunk so the condo will sleep 8. Most of our guests rent our entire property (VRBO listing 476419) for large family reunions and appreciate the ability to sleep 40 guests in one location. Our courtyard is absolutely stunning - one-of-a kind, with beautiful flowers and high end cast aluminum furniture. A slight chill could easily be remedied with a sweatshirt : ) We are located exactly 1/5 mile to the boardwalk which is no more than a 3 to 5 minute walk for most, making it an ideal location. Please check out our new pictures with the redesigned bedrooms.
Great vacation week.
We had a great week, weather was great, great location. Sue and Polly were very attentive to our needs. Would definitely come back.
Thanks, Catherine. We are very happy you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you again!
Perfect location, with an awesome outdoor space and grill!
We were looking pretty last minute for a place at the shore on Labor Day Weekend and found this unit at the Victoria Inn--it was perfect! It's super close to the beach and boardwalk (including a coffee shop!) and the outdoor area is awesome for bigger groups. We spent most of each night outside grilling, talking, and eating. 5/5!
Thank you, Allesandra. It was great meeting you and your friends! We are so happy you enjoyed our home and our beautiful courtyard and custom grill. We hope to see you again.
Amazing trip to OCNJ!
We loved staying at the Victorian Inn condo. It was exactly as described, with more than enough space for the four of us. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, and you couldn't ask for a better location! A (very) quick walk to the boardwalk, beach, and all the action, but still quiet at night! Loved the gorgeous shared courtyard and grill, and having a washer and dryer on the property was very convenient! Already considering coming back again next summer!
Thank you for the fantastic review, Alexis. It was very nice meeting you and your family. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again next year!
Lovely condo, warm, friendly, helpful landladies
Having rented a number of Vacation Rentals through the HomeAway family of sites, I know whereof I speak...my wife and I could not have been more pleased by our stay in Ocean CIty. Our condo was much more than we'd expected or needed - fully furnished with all the usual furniture, plus amenities, cable, wi-fi, VERY well equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, everything one could want for a calm, quiet, beach vacation. Only blocks from the Boardwalk and beach, the landladies could not have helped us more. Their ever present warmth, friendliness, and willingness to assist were wonderful; their interaction with our many grandchildren (who stayed in the adjacent Main House and Condo A facilities) was priceless. Sweet caring, loving women, they were extremely gracious in facilitating our enjoyment of our stay. Kudos to our new friends. We WILL be back!!
Thank you, George, for the wonderful review. We are glad the condo exceeded your expectations. We enjoyed meeting your beautiful family and look forward to getting to know you a bit more next year. We so enjoy meeting our guests and love when they become friends, as we know you will be for years to come. We look forward to seeing you next year!
P.S., although there is a one way side street about 2/3 of the way down our block, we are technically "beach block" - exactly 1/5 mile to the beach : )
Beautiful Property - Great Location
From the very first interaction with the owners Polly and Susan, we knew this was the place fore us! The location is perfect! A short walk to boardwalk, beach, rides, movies and plenty of places to eat. The property is very well maintained and was perfect for our group (5 adults and 3 kids). There is access to 3 grilles and grilling utensils, shared washer and dryer, two outdoor showers and the most beautiful patio. We ate most of our meals on the patio. It was so relaxing with beautiful flowers, lattice and pleanty of tables and chairs. Susan and Polly were so welcoming and helping is recommending restaurants for the nights we went out to eat and even leant us a couple things we forgot to bring. My nephew, who is 6, says he wishes he could go back in time to the best beach vacation ever! We would definately recommend this property and hope to stay again.
Thank you, Todd & Lisa! We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. Nothing says it better than "best beach vacation ever"! It was great meeting you, and we hope to see you and your family again.
