The house is in a very popular neighborhood, Bahama Village, close to everything; Ft Zachery Taylor Beach and several very trendy restaurants are only several blocks away (Blue Heaven, Firefly, Santiago Bodega, and a crepes and wine bar ..all on Petronia St). Duval is two blocks away. It is all here.
The parking space makes this property very desirable. Parking is tight in much of Old Town and certainly so in Bahama Village. If you are going to have a car, you need a parking space to avoid a lot of frustration. The house itself is very nice. Nicely furnished. Kitchen has a full complement of dishes and cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc. You are all set there. In back there is a covered rear deck for this house and a community pool that is shared by the three properties in the condo group. Small plunge pool typical of Key West and it is a nice touch. Front porch is a good place to sit and people watch. The bed in what I would consider the master bedroom was comfortable. The only drawback is that it is located in the front of the house and can be a occasionally noisy with neighbors talking and passersby, but this is Old Town and you get that anywhere, so it is not really a criticism unique to this property. I only used the one bedroom because I rented the house by myself. It is well priced and a very good value for three bedrooms. It would be a good rental for a family, I think the common space might be a bit tight for six adults. Two couples would be fine.
I would not hesitate to rent this property.
For the fourth year in a row we rented the house on 903 Thomas Street and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is located close enough to walk to all the "sites" but in a quiet residential setting. The house itself is comfortable and includes all the amenities one needs!
903 Thomas is a special spot for my friends and me. We especially enjoy the outdoor area with the canvas top. The pool is good for a dip if it gets hot. This February the water temperature was refreshing, not too hot, not too cold. Other years we would have enjoyed running the heater but were told by a neighbor condo owner that we, as tenants, weren't allowed to heat the pool, even briefly.
The parking spot is a definite plus. The vast majority of parking places on Thomas St. are designated "resident only". Parking is at a premium all over town, so it's very good to have a designated place to park.
There is a great deal of noise in the area periodically, beyond the roosters. This has impacted us on occasion. The complex has a 10 p.m. quiet time which is respected most of the time.
I have returned to the house every February for 5 years, so I am willing to make compromises in order to enjoy the cottage. I have learned over the years that every rental in Key West has some issues. I am always grateful for my time there.
Stayed the whole month of Jan 2015. This home is perfect in everyway. It is a beautiful home - enjoyed the pool and the deck and the front porch. It is a great location - can walk to everything - beaches - marinas - mallory square, grocery store, drug store - everything is within walking distance. It is priced so well - especially compared to other homes. And the management of this property is great - only had one issue with the cable and they responded immediately and resolved it quickly. Can't say enough about this stay - would do it again in a heartbeat.
