Disappointed with the condition of the condo. Have stayed here before many times and had a good stay. Unfortunately it has been 2 years since we have booked this condo. When I called Joanna to see if we could get in there was no problem checking in early which was great. They later called to inform me the back door knob broke which leads to the balcony of the condo. I was told it would be replaced later that day.
The entire stay we had a back door with a hole. My husband had to put tape to keep the mosquitoes from coming in. Needless to say we never got to use the balcony which I love in the morning and at sunset.
The air conditioner was supplemented with a unit with a exhaust hose loosely taped to a hole cut in the window enforced with blue painters tape. Needless to say the outside humid air did come in.
The icing on the cake we were not informed that the bay fishing dock behind the condo was under construction. Meaning there was not a dock to fish on. We were told however we could use the dock two properties over to fish on. Not exactly ideal.
Unfortunately, I find myself having to defend my unit from unwarranted comments from these "guests". Apparently, they had a lapse of memory regarding their most recent visit. I was more than happy to allow them a very early check-in. Following their arrival, I called to tell them about the back door knob issue (prior guest inadvertently broke it) and that our maintenance person was enroute to fix the problem. I was told not to "worry about it" as they had taped the hole and they" DID NOT WANT TO BE BOTHERED". So, I cancelled my scheduled maintenance for the knob (would have been done prior to their arrival), but they wanted to get into the unit shortly after lunch (the new set was installed shortly after their departure and before the next guests arrived). I also told them on the phone that the pavilion was being replaced, AS IS STATED IN THE UNIT'S ON-LINE DESCRIPTION COURTESY OF LAST YEAR'S STORM. But, fishing and crabbing could still easily be accomplished off the complex's bulk head as many guests have and continue to do so. And, should they want to relax on a water pavilion they were welcome to walk approximately 45 seconds to a complex where we own numerous condos, Seascape Villas. This was also met with NO problem from these "guests". Regarding no access to the unit's back balcony which overlooks the water, there was absolutely NO reason they could not have opened the door and enjoyed the view. Lastly, we have started supplementing our westerly facing units with stand alone, very efficient portable AC units. Reason being, guests enjoy the view outside from inside the unit. Only problem with the curtains being open as the sun is setting is the heat from the sun coming through the picture windows. Thus to ensure our guest's comfort, we provide the additional AC to augment the central air system. Should there have been a leak in the exhaust hose leading to the outside, the guests should have called me, as I request of all our guests should they have ANY issues as we have on call maintenance and cleaning people. I RECEIVED NO CALLS from these "guests" during their stay requesting any assistance or complaints. Should any potential guests want to view over 120 online reviews for this unit on Air bnb, please check out A7 Padre Island Waterfront Condo- Pirates Crossing. Our current average score exceeds 4.7 out of 5 as is listed on this site we have advertised over two years. Regarding these guests, I feel sorry for them regarding their untrue statements.
quiet and relaxing
This is a good spot for the price. Parking was good - the pool was never crowded. The complex was nice and quiet. The location is excellent as well - All in all this was a good place to stay. The owners were very nice through email and arrival was easy. We did not need anything, but I felt like we were taken care of if we did. I would add that this is an older condo and has some wear and tear, but for the price this was an excellent bargain and I would stay again.
Very comfortable, clean, conveniently located, older property.
I will use this condo the next time that I am on the Island.
The owner is very involved in making sure that the tenants are settled.
Conveniently close to the beach and shopping in the area.
King sized bed was comfortable.
Thank you Joanna and Dave Morris
Cozy, quaint, clean, and peaceful
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had everything we needed. We enjoyed our evenings and mornings on the back porch. My son caught a catfish our first night. Everything was just wonderful.
It was adequate
The condo was comfortable but old and in need of some updating. The balcony was ok in the morning but too hot in the afternoon. The swimming pool was nice. A/C worked but was loud.
Glad you enjoyed your stay as you related to me a couple times during your visit! Regarding your comments.........We do not consider the condo old as it is less than half your age:). Agree with the west facing balcony being hot in the afternoon due to the sun/Island heat. Whenever possible, Island houses/condos/etc are built facing to the east (for the sunrise) with the back/balcony facing to the west for the sunset. However, any prudent person would not sit on a west facing balcony during the mid afternoon's heat of the day. The conditions and view of the sunset are really nice a hour or so before sunset. This may have been why the one month old central heat and air conditioning system was loud as your were stressing it with the drapes open to the two large picture windows and balcony door open. On a good note, the scheduled replacement of the pavilion and boat slips should be completed by the first part of July. Should be real nice and guest friendly!!
The condo was perfect for our stay. It had everything we needed. Would definitely book here again
