NOTE: This calendar shows availability in any one of my listed condos, so please inquire if you are interested in staying in any of them. My third property listing is on Vacation Rentals property ID 3958764. Please call or text me if you are interested in discussing any of the condos and pricing.

My cozy Salt Lake City condos are my trendy, fun, home-away-from-home. I hope they can be yours too. When I travel, I want all the amenities of home. I’m a suburban girl with urban tastes, so I like to have easy access to the airport, easy access to downtown and a short drive to the best skiing in the world.

Both units are in the same complex, next to each other, conveniently nestled just 8 short minutes from the airport and just 2 miles from all the downtown activities. Traveling with friends? Book the units together and I'll give you a great discount. You can get settled in, right after arriving in town. Additionally, you will have gated parking for your vehicle; one dedicated space per unit. When you enter into the condo, you’ll feel right at home.

Both are the same layout with the same features and amenities, but different decor. One has beautiful granite counters and new kitchen cabinetry, while the other has rich, warm earth tones, new carpet, and lovely mosaic tile in the kitchen. Both are remodeled bathrooms and kitchens with new appliances, comfortable Queen beds in the master, and full size beds in the 2nd bedroom. Linens are included for all the beds and I provide towels for up to 4 people. We're also now baby friendly! with a Pack 'n Play and high chair available to you, should you require them, if traveling with little ones.

Both units have new baseboard heaters and thermostats to ensure your comfort in the winter. I love circulating air, so I had beautiful, quiet ceiling fans installed in the bedrooms and the dining area to keep air flowing nicely throughout the unit, in the winter, summer, spring or fall.

Enjoy having your privacy with all the amenities you need, without the high price of boring, expensive hotels. Definitely better priced than a hotel suite, with far more to offer. I even supply coffee and tea! My dedicated cleaning lady keeps these condos very clean with professional pride. Each unit features two flat panel TV's and DVD players; one in the living room and the other in the master bedroom. DVD’s are also available to watch during your stay. If you have some you’d like to unload, bring them along and add them to the guest library for others to enjoy.

Ahh, comfort. The master bedrooms are furnished with real Queen size beds with a tempurpedic mattress topper. Something my bad back requires no matter which unit I stay in! The second bedrooms are furnished with real Full size beds, also with tempurpedic mattress toppers. The sofabeds pull out into a full size bed (cozy!) and in each unit, a twin foldaway bed is also available in the closet of the 2nd bedroom. In addition, in each unit, the 2nd bedroom is furnished with a small desk to get some work completed, or to set up your laptop when you need to get online; the units are WIFI enabled. Each unit also has a washer and dryer, with complimentary laundry detergent, a fully stocked kitchen featuring new, electric ranges, new dishwashers and new refrigerators! Coffee maker, teapot, toaster, microwave oven and everything you need to cook and serve your delicious meals. Tupperware is also available for your use to pack leftovers in if you are on the run.

Minutes to downtown Salt Lake City, this is an ideal location. Just a short 2 mile drive, you’ll have access to the best dining Salt Lake City offers, great museums, grocery stores and shopping at the Gateway Mall. Oh! and a Trader Joe's just opened a few miles right up the road. YAY!

If you are here for business, you are just 2.33 miles/8 minutes from the Salt Palace Convention Center and have quick access to the I-80, I-215 and I-15 freeways. If you aren't interested in renting a car, no worries. A 10 min taxi from the airport, and you can catch the 516 bus around the corner and it takes you just a block from the Salt Palace or other convenient, downtown locations. Maps of the bus route and local ski areas are available in my directories located in the unit.

Whether it be for a sporting event, business meetings, a conference, LDS activites or Temple, these affordable condos are just a quick 10 minutes from all the downtown activities. For skiers looking to save some money, it’s just a 20 minute drive to the best snow on earth at Snowbird & Alta, Brighton & Solitude. Or for more winter action, just a 30 minute drive to Park City, Deer Valley & the Canyons. Snow Basin and Powder Mountain are just up the I-15 too (see my Ogden rental for these ski areas). Summertime brings great hiking, biking, fishing or day trips to Utah’s world-famous canyons.

Salt Lake Temple: 6-8 minutes

About LISA MACDONALD

I am a California native who visits Salt Lake City quite often. I fell in love with the area and my rentals are my home away from home. I'm thrilled and proud to share it with others who come into town.

LISA MACDONALD purchased this condo in 2007

Why LISA MACDONALD chose Salt Lake City

The location of the units is close to the airport and easy access to the i-80 freeway. It's very quiet; you won't hear any freeway noise. I personally love that literally in 8 minutes (I've timed it) I am from the airport to my condo parking space. I love that I walk in and everything I need is there, right down to the cotton balls. All I need to do is turn on my laptop and I'm ready to get online with WIFI, turn on the TV to watch my favorite shows on HBO or pop in a DVD from my growing library. The only thing I wish I had was my cat ! The condo is so close to great restaurants, the Children's Museum, theaters, the Gateway, City Creek and then, it's just 20 minutes from Snowbird! I love the layout of this unit so... I bought another one! Both are furnished primarily with IKEA. So if you've ever fantasized what it would be like living in an IKEA showroom, you'll love my condos! Very fun.

What makes this condo unique

The best benefit is the location. I have timed the location from rental car to carport, and it is just 8 minutes! Great if you are concerned about taxing to/from the airport or running just a bit late. Also, just 2 miles from all the downtown activities, which I go all the time. I do really enjoy the close access to the freeway to get around quickly. I love my place and get along well with my neighbors. I hope you will too!

Exactly what we expected.

Better than a hotel room. Cute decor. Small for a condo but she points that out multiple times and does a great job with furnishings to make it cozy and not feel small. Close to many things. Not the best or worst neighborhood

Clean, comfortable bed, not a good winter stay

  • 3 of 5

The place was overall ok.

Pros:

Clean

Comfortable beds (memory foam toppers)

Quiet

Lots of movies

Plenty of cooking utensils and supplies

Roku

Cable

Covered parking

Cons:

-Used items left behind. Opened partially used food in the fridge and cabinet was really weird. Also there are open used items in bathroom. I never used them obviously but my mom came and stayed the night and I didn't warn her. She ended up using the used toothpaste. That's just not something you want to reuse after someone else.

-internet is not always reliable. You share between 3 condos so sometimes it's slow or down. As with any internet soemtimes the router needs to be rebooted. But because the 3 condos share, the router is located in the bottom condo. So unless those renters are home at the moment to reset it, you're out of luck.

-my biggest complaint is heating, or lack there of. I didn't realize when I booked the place October-Christmas that there is no heat in the apartment. The only source of heat is plug in oil heaters. I asked the landlord and she said they were absolutely safe. I told her I was worried ahout my dog being home alone and either being cold, or being unsafe with unattended heaters. She said it was absolutely fine. I read up online and also contacted some friends of the family (electrician and heating/ac pros). They told me that the instructions that come with these products say DO NOT LEAVE ON UNATTENDED OR WHILE SLEEPING. They said that these may be ok to leave on, but to check the outlet and the cord to see if it gets hot after having on for awhile because it really depends on the electrical system of the apartment. So I did and things seemed ok. But just because I was taking precautions didn't mean that any of the other tenants were taking precautions. And if they are told they are super safe, then how worried are they? There are no directions left on safe use of the heaters. I knew not to plug them into a surge protector, but does everyone? I came home one day from running a 10 min errand, my dog had knocked a blanket off the bed and it was laying very close to heater. Didn't leave them on again. Also I could only have one on at a time or it would trip the fuse, and you must turn off before using a hair dryer or you will trip the fuse. This was such a pain.

In summary I think this place would be a good place to stay, in the non cold months. Owner was quick to respond.

Owner's Response: It's always disappointing to hear that a guest experience isn't what I strive to provide. I have been renting my condos for years and have never had one issue with my heaters. I live in these condos and use these same oil-filled heaters in my unit every winter, and provide them in all the units I rent. They are indeed very safe and far better than the inefficient and noisy baseboards that often get detached and damaged by guest luggage, and climbing children. They are well-insulated oil-filled heaters; not the old, open-faced electric heaters. And like anything on the market today, of course there will be a CYA disclaimer. I’ve actually removed the note now to not use the blow dryer when operating the heaters as they have proven NOT to blow any fuses when all are in use. This is only a 620 sq foot condo and the heaters used are rated for not only the entire condo, but certainly the individual rooms they are provided in. The only instructions necessary are to simply use common sense as you would in your own household. As far as internet. I pay for Blast, which is the highest speed you can buy through Comcast. Just like your home, routers cycle and there may be an intermittent lag, which is highly rare. This single router is adequate for a large, 3 story home. So certainly, operating 2 TVs in these condos is not a stress. This guest notified me once, and when I checked in with her, the Internet was back on. Re: Food and toiletries. The refrigerators are always cleaned out and sanitized. We may leave some condiments in the refrigerator and many have been grateful not to have to purchase these items. The food that is left in the cabinet would only be unopened, packaged foods left by previous guests for others to enjoy; no open packages are left to eliminate issues with pests. If you don’t want them, ignore them or throw it out; I won’t know either way. Further, the toiletries in the bathroom are also left by guests, and the kotex, toilet paper, wrapped toothbrush and toothpaste is left by me, for those guests who forget to pack them. If you don’t want to use what I provide, then feel free to buy your own and not complain about what is provided for free. Many guests have been grateful for the thoughtfulness, as I am when guests thoughtfully leave usable items behind for others.

Great Experience

  • 5 of 5

Lisa's condo was exactly as advertised. Many little touches that made it nicer than staying in a hotel. Her communication was great, and she kept us up to date on any goings-on in the complex (there happened to be some work being done on the complex's metal fence). The location felt safe and was very convenient to the highways and the city. We would stay there again!

Cozy comfort

Thanks to this cozy condo in a convenient location, we had a wonderful vacation. The condo was clean and well stocked with all the basics we needed. Lisa was very interested that we were comfortable and provided some great suggestions for things to do. I have relatives coming to Salt Lake City and have recommended that they stay at this condo
