Our family moved here after My husband builit our home for us and his parents. They have since then moved on from this world. As we feel homes need to be lived in we want to share our guest house with others.
Linda Bruce purchased this villa in 2000
We brought this property and developed it into what it is today. Our children grew up on the ranch, my husband and I moved to Simi when we were first married.
We have a beautiful setting. Three custom buildings, surrounded by the avocado orchard. There are trails to walk on to see the views of Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, and Simi Valley.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful property. The location was quiet, gorgeous and maintained to perfection. This "hacienda-style guesthouse" was hardly a guesthouse! It was large enough for the 6 of us, furnished for comfort and sophistication. The owner's attention to detail created such a lovely, relaxed place to reconnect and enjoy our family weekend. The pool and hot tub were spectacular and hikes around the avocado trees were truly a lovely experience. Everything exceeded our expectations, thanks to these gracious hosts. Hoping we can revisit...soon!
From the moment we drove up to this enchanting escape we knew we were in for a very special weekend. This was the perfect gathering spot for the pieces of our family who were able to travel to our friend's Moorpark wedding ( from OK, WI and MS!). The home is beautiful, airy and bright with ample privacy and lovely grounds. Our hostess, Linda Bruce, could not have been kinder. She went above and beyond to welcome and pamper us. They warmed the hot tub of the main house, allowed us to grill on their patio, let us back into our guest home after we locked ourselves out quite late one evening and graciously greeted us with a welcome basket choked full of treats. I'm an Aveda fanatic so the well appointed toiletries were a special bonus. Everything was as described except that you have to see this place to see all of its glory. Beautiful! If you are considering this rental, do it! It will set the tone for a terrific experience in sunny so cal! Thanks again, Linda!
Wonderful place to stay near the Ronald Reagan Library in the middle of a 63 acre avocado orchard. Three bedrooms and 2 and a half baths. The only thing we did not like was that there was only one shower, but it was a tremendous shower. The landlord was very gracious and left us to ourselves, but was close by if we needed anything.
We would highly recommend this property in the northern part of Simi Valley.
Staying amidst the avocado farm was just lovely. Myself and a few girlfriends enjoyed the peaceful view and the lovely, comfortable home. Linda even provided us a basket full of snacks, which was so thoughtful! We ate them all up! Would definitely recommend this beautiful home and would stay here again.
We stayed here just last week and had a wonderful time. We were visiting family in Simi Valley and the options for renting a home in Simi were kind of limited. We were nervous that we'd end up settling for something that didn't feel very vacation-like but that wasn't the case at all! The home is lovely--a very Californian feel, spacious, open and airy. My husband and I were traveling with our three young daughters and the bedrooms/layout were perfect. Plenty of room for us to spread out but not so big that I felt nervous having them down the hall. Bedding, towels, etc. were nice and plenty of lovely touches like various Aveda products for our use and a lovely welcome basket with snacks and wine. The owners let us enjoy delicious oranges off of the trees in the yard and they brought us over a large bag of avocados from the surrounding farm! The views are great, very neat to be surrounded by acres of trees and to be up high looking at the surrounding mountains and neighborhood. The landscaping is immaculate. We loved the patio off the back and yard--perfect for the kids to enjoy breakfast outside and running around in our view. We didn't use or see the pool or hot tub (located more on the owners' personal residence backyard) but we felt welcome to use it if we'd wanted. We were glad the pool wasn't immediately in our backyard with the kids running around and while the owners' residence was in view, we felt we had total privacy. No noise and barely saw anyone coming and going. We actually liked knowing they were pretty close by if we had any questions or needed anything (although you can always call, too).
Even though we had family in the area everyone gathered at our house because it was such a pretty spot and perfect for casual entertaining. We also enjoyed doing a few things in LA and getting downtown and to the beach wasn't bad (well, considering it's LA!) We were so pleased with the entire stay and definitely plan on returning to this home. We are pretty picky with hotels and rental vacation homes and this one exceeded our hopes for it.
