This newly remodeled (spring 2011) cabin is loacted in beautiful Tusquittee Valley at the foot of the mountains. It provides all the comforts of home plus the peaceful sound of a rushing, bubbling creek that flows near the master bedroom and large 12x26 screened porch. With privacy and level landscape this cozy 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin includes a large rock fireplace, central heat and AC, fully furnished kitchen, full-size washer and dryer, satellite TV and DVD player. A 12x26 open upper deck is accessed from both upstairs bedrooms and overlooks the wide rushing creek and heavy area of spring flowering rhododendrums. An open fire pit sits on the bank of the creek. Cook-out on the charcoal grille and use the table on the screened porch or the inside table. Kids thoroughly enjoy playing in Compass Creek. Although the cabin is surrounded by heavy foliage, it is also adjacent to a level grassy open area for play. There are occassional sightings of various wildlife including deer and wild turkeys.
Current full-time residents of Tusquittee Valley enjoying full-time life in this wonderful and peaceful part of Clay County. We reside less than a mile from the rental property.
Vicki Beggs purchased this house in 2011
The constant sound of the rushing Compass Creek and sitting on the screen porch just next to the creek and also sitting by a warm fire in the huge rock fireplace during the cooler times of the seasons.
We LOVED the cabin. It was so peaceful. We had everything we needed. It was close to so many things. Sad to leave such a peaceful place but will come again.
We spent our Christmas here and let me say we had a wonderful time!! This little cabin was the perfect spot for us to enjoy our time together! There were 6 of us this trip, and it had everything we needed. Fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, plenty of towels and linens, a cozy fireplace with plenty of wood and lots of peace and quiet! It is very clean and very well maintained! There is a little creek that runs through the property behind the cabin and my boys loved being outside and looking for rocks. We had two special visitors Hank and Memphis, they are the local welcoming committee ( neighbors dogs). They were very friendly and liked to visit in the mornings. The owners Ricky and Vicki are wonderful people! They were great to work with and made sure we were taken care of 100%!! If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay when visiting the mountains this is the place for you!
Perfect spot for our 9th Annual Girl's Weekend. Beautiful screened porch with plenty of seating, overlooking the singing creek. Shady and seemed very private with all the foliage even though there are homes near by. We most enjoyed sitting on the porch or around the fire pit that's down by the creek. We cooked most meals at the cabin and found everything we needed for simple meals. Cabin seemed very clean and not at all cluttered. Wood laminate floors made for easy clean up, and unlike a lot of cabins, there were no bugs or creepy critters anywhere. Plenty of linens for everyone.
A couple things to consider, these did not detract from our visit in any way, just good information. Bring camp chairs for around the fire if you have more than two people. We also used our camp chairs inside since there is only a couch and chair in the living room. There was plenty of space to add enough seating for the 7 of us. There were two dogs that hung out around the cabin. They were beautiful, and well behaved, and when we ordered them home, they did leave, but they did startle us on more than once occasion by coming up to the screen doors when we were sitting nearby. Also, the stair are narrow and steep which again, was not a problem for us at all but worth noting. One other thing to consider is that none of us got cell phone service there. This meant we couldn't pull up google maps when leaving so a paper map or the printed directions (that Vicki provided but I didn't print) would be a must next time. We ate at Rib Country, the ribs were good, but no one thought the pulled pork, brisket, or chicken was very good and it seemed a little overpriced.
We all agreed this was a fantastic property, and a great deal, and I am hoping to be back again!
We had a fantastic weekend here! The cabin is very clean and well kept. The screened porch was perfect for the little ones to play and listen to the creek, when they were not in the creek. Perfect spot! Vicki is very responsive and pleasant.
Thank you and we hope to visit again!
Great little cabin next to creek. We enjoyed the large screened in porch, fire ring by the creek, and star gazing in the open field. We wanted a place to enjoy being with family and away from the fast pass of everyday life. We found Creekside Cabin to be just that. We hope to return.
This is a beautiful home on a wonderful little creek that runs right on the backside of the property. Our boys loved exploring for deep holes and different rocks. My husband and I slept upstairs and left the door to the deck open several nights to hear the creek and enjoy the cool weather. The house was clean and well stocked we cooked dinner several nights for our group of 7. In the evening we enjoyed the screened porch for many games of Uno. Location was also just far enough out to enjoy nature but close enough to town to make a store run. Also close enough to explore N. Georgia and N. Carolina without driving hours on end. Will recommend to our friends and family.
