The Breakers - BEST CM house for big groups - have a DREAM VACA week!
We loved it ! The house was perfect for our blended/extended family group (14 core group for 1 week +6 others coming for various shorter stays) - ages 6mo- 70 yrs old! The zoned AC was wonderful during humid days - even 3rd floor was definitely cool! The meeting areas - 2LR, 2 Kitch + DR were all fabulous, loved the 2 kitchens w/ 2 DW + 2fridges, + all the dishes/glasses/silver - plenty of cookware, great grill. We enjoyed the front porch - plenty of seating - loved being one block fm beach + Washington St Mall + grocery store! We got pizza several times fm around the corner at Blue Moon Pizza (Beach Ave) + coffee/bagels at Avalon (Gurney Ave.) Parking was a little too tight for us as it is advertised for Breakers- we ended up needing to park a couple cars around the corner at the First Presbyterian Church parking lot on Columbia Ave (all day+over night= $10) There was a glitch w/ a toilet flusher knob on the first day & the owner had someone over w/in an hour to fix it - no further problems. The only suggestions I would offer are that the the 3rd floor beds are definitely hard- esp if considering the price range of renting this home - sleep was not comfortable in those top 3 bedrooms., We went to Walmart after 3 nights to get a thick foam topper for our bed since neither of us could sleep (it wasnt just me being a princess). Also - one of the website pics shows seating on a charming front balcony w/ a view of the ocean + Inn of CM - I made that pic my screen saver & looked forward to having wine + coffee on that balcony all year. Unfortunately-probably necessarily, that porch is locked off, not available to guests - perhaps because the railing is too low? Maybe for Insurance...but perhaps that enticing pic w/ a view shouldn't be used for advertising, since it's off limits to guests. Would DEFINITELY recommend this house - it provided a once in a life time dream week for us and our family :-)
Hersheyettes Weekend Get Away
We had a great time. The Breakers is really great and fit our (12 person) needs wonderfully. The fact that everyone could park in your private parking lot made loading and unloading easy. Once we parked our cars on Friday, we never needed them again until we left. Everything we wanted, beach, shopping, restaurants and the Acme, were within one to three blocks. After check-in we went right to the beach (less than a half block away) for afternoon cocktails and upon returning to the house, all 6 couples had plenty of room on the upstairs deck for watching the sun set and the moon come up. Saturday we had some rain, but there was more than enough room for the whole crew to sit on the porch, talk and people watch. The house was very clean and very well appointed, and our group thought that it came with more utensils, glass and cooking ware, amenities, etc., than any other rental properties we have encountered. We enjoyed having all those bathrooms and we loved the two kitchens as one became the bar and one the cooking kitchen. Thank you again.

The Breakers is a beautiful home that is well kept and managed. It is a perfect blend of an authentic historical experience and modern convenience. We were very pleased with everything it had to offer.
We stayed at The Breakers for a weekend ladies retreat for our church and we loved the charm and comfort of the home. It was a wonderful place to stay and everyone enjoyed their time their! We didn't want to leave!
Pictures do not do this house justice. It has everything one would want in a rental. To have two kitchens and multiple full size baths really made this house work for us. It is furnished like no other rental I know. We rented for a long weekend for our parent's 80th B-Day. 7 married couples - 23 of us total from age 5 to 80, and there was plenty of room. The location couldn't be better. In the heart of everything Cape May. I highly recommend this house. Very nice owner too. Great location. Great house. Great memories!
We rented this house for Labor Day weekend for a college reunion event. Overall I'm very satisfied with it.
The location is great. It's almost by the sea and we could just walk back & forth from the beach bare feet.
The room is well maintained and it's very spacious, great if your group size is around 20 people. We ended up having 19 adults staying in the house and that easily fit into the many bedrooms and couches (convertible to beds).
The amenities are also good. There are two kitchens, full set of plates/silverware, easily accomodates cooking for 20 people. There are two very new TV sets; wireless network works well which turned out useful for us because we brought some video games.
Overall I'm very satisfied with this rental. It's ideal if you have a group size around 20 and looking for a quality weekend by the ocean.
