Lakefront Paradise in the Finger Lakes with CENTRAL AIR

Property Details

Updated: Aug 9, 2016
House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, 8 Sleeps

This private and peaceful home, built in 2004, has 1700 sq. ft. It has the split floor plan with the master suite on one end of the house and the other 2 bedrooms and a bathroom at the other end. The large master suite has a king size bed, walk through closet, huge master bath with an oversized walk-in shower and a closeted washer and dryer. The master has French doors that open onto the large deck over looking the lake. Bedroom 2 is large and has a double bed, and 2 singles. The third bedroom has a queen bed. All bedrooms have a dresser and a closet. Most important, they have quality mattresses. This home comfortably sleeps 8 people without using any sofa beds, cots, or rollaway beds.

The living area seats 8 very comfortably. There are 2 large couches, a recliner and a cushy chair and ottoman.

The dining table seats 8 people.

The spacious kitchen has a large refrigerator with many cabinets and abundant counter top space. It is equipped with all the utensils and appliances that you could possibly need along with a dishwasher, of course.

The master, living and dining areas and kitchen all have beautiful views of the lake through all the large windows (which are cleaned every Friday).. The elderly guests really appreciate that everything is on one level, even stepping onto the large deck.

Most of our guests' favorite place to hang is on the huge deck. There is a hot tub, a new large table with 6 new chairs and 2 tall slingback chairs that allow guests to marvel at the full views of the lake. There is 85 feet of your own private lakefront to enjoy. This area of the lake is very clean, making swimming and water sports a pleasure. Fishing is excellent right off the dock. The water starts out shallow and gradually gets deeper with no drop-offs. Perfect for the family.

There is an attached garage for your car or for your fishing gear, rafts, bikes, coolers, etc

In the back of the house is your gas grill for family BBQs.

So sorry, absolutely NO SMOKING and NO PETS on this rental property

Georgeous, relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5

This home is exactly as pictured. Clean, bright and beautiful. We enjoyed plenty of family time on the lake swimming, canoeing, tubing and fishing. We hiked at nearby Fillmore Glen State park and took a trip into Auburn to visit the Bass Pro Shop, which was a big hit with the guys in the family. There is a marina close by that provided boat/canoe rentals and excellent customer service. The area is quiet, rural and full of friendly people. This is probably not the place to go for night life, but an amazing spot for a real get away and family time. We would definitely recommend this rental property to others who wanted to relax, enjoy breathtaking scenery and have a lot of outdoor fun.

Owner's Response: We, the owners, take pride in the cleanliness of our home. Not only is the home sparkling, but there are plenty of linens, towels, blankets and pillows for everyone. There is so much to see and do in the Finger Lakes Region, as well as enjoy all the outdoor activities right here. To top it all off, this is the perfect place to relax and absorb the peace and quiet.

Quiet, relaxing vacation

  • 5 of 5

As many reviewers before me have mentioned, the property is absolutely spotless. The owners are very nice, genuine people who truly care for the property. A recent reviewer noted that the owners are a short distance away and they felt like they were being watched. I will say that there was full disclosure that the owners stay next door (so that was no surprise), and we never once felt watched. In fact, we only saw the owners a couple of times when they were sitting at their picnic bench or feeding the ducks.

The view is amazing, especially from the deck! And the lake is so quiet, sometimes you feel as if you have it all to yourself. This was the perfect vacation for three younger couples, each with a young baby. The marina is super close and renting a boat for the day was the best decision we made. The hot tub (which is emptied and cleaned weekly) was also a great perk.

Finally, and I can't stress this enough, we appreciated the short, gently sloped walk down to the dock/lake. It wasn't until we toured the lake by boat that I saw all of the houses that were 3..4..5..6..7 steep stories of rickety steps from the lake (and a few with lift-type contraptions I would never trust)! Many of the houses are pretty much on a cliff and that may not be adequately disclosed in other listings, so be careful!

Overall I recommend this property if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation and are looking to get away from it all!

Owner's Response: So glad that this vacation was perfect for all of you. That's a good point about many lake homes having many, many steps to the lake. Renter beware. I had to chuckle when you mentioned the guest who felt like she was under surveillance. Oftentimes, it is the people who are doing something wrong or against the rules when they feel they are being watched. We are here to help make your vacation the best it can be, not to watch the guests. Location of the lake house is very important. This home is quite a distance from West Lake Rd., and as a result, the guests cannot hear traffic, only the occasional boat going by. It's peaceful, private and quiet. What more could you ask for? Absolutely beautiful lake house!

  • 5 of 5

I would say this was our best rental ever! This lake house is more beautiful than the photos on the website. It is extremely clean, immaculately maintained, very comfortably furnished and well equipped with everything you would need for vacation. Our time spent on the deck watching the sun rise was so relaxing. The view of the lake from every window in the house is spectacular. Also, the central air was a real plus, as the temperature reached 90 degrees on most days. The homeowners are so gracious. They answered all of our questions, providing us with information about area activities, restaurants and shopping. We would most definitely recommend this home to friends and family. We hope to have an opportunity to rent this home again!

Owner's Response: Spectacular views of the lake, clean and comfortable with all of the amenities. This home does not have old 'camp' furniture. It has been furnished with new and comfortable furniture. I'm glad we were available when needed. That A/C definitely was needed this summer. Inviting all future guests to make their 2016 reservations soon. Pat

Our family of 6 adults enjoyed reading on the deck and floating on the clear lake. The owners take great pride in their home and it shows. They consider you guests not just renters. They take time as you arrive to go over procedures to ensure their home is well cared for (septic system, etc.) We had some minor issues and they came right over to fix. Our only suggestion is that Wifi be available. There is access to a desktop but some of us needed to do some work on laptops. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this clean home with awesome lake views!

Owner's Response: We ensure that our guests have the best vacation possible. Vacation time is to explore new 'worlds' as well as to relax in a peaceful, private lake setting. We are not absentee landlords. We live 2 lots away if you need us. Because our lake home is rural, broadband internet has not yet made it to us. We purchase a WiFi license from a neighborhood co-op, and provide a desktop computer in our home which has the account. Next season we hope to acquire additional WiFi licenses for our guests.

The picture looks beautiful, however what it doesn't say is that while you are staying in the house they rope off half of the beach front to stay in an RV. They are also at the house EVERY day, water plants in the garage, it was like staying with strangers. They sat in the front of the camper to watch the house the entire time, NO PRIVACY! They also invited family to stay in a camper at the end of the driveway. When we arrived she needed to read us a list of house rules and complain about past guests. They placed a tire rim in the corner of the property for a fire pit that two people could sit around, there were 8 of us. Very disappointing, I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless you like to be under surveillance while on vacation.

Owner's Response: We enjoy our own privacy and the guests enjoy theirs. We welcome all returning and new guests to come and enjoy the relaxation and privacy this property offers. We are fortunate to own 3 lots on the lake. We rent one lot with the lake house, and provide 85 feet of private frontage to our guests. There is a small plastic chain to mark the beginning of the middle lot, which is grass and flowers. We stay at the end of the 3rd lot, in our motor home, at the water’s edge. The front of our motor home faces the lake, and as all lakefront owners, we enjoy sitting up front watching the wildlife and lake activity. When you have 8 guests staying, it is necessary to make routine refuse pick ups. Our son’s camper is over 105 ft. away from the garage/house on the end of the 3rd lot. I would be surprised if someone would even notice an overnight visit. I used to water the hanging plant up on the guests’ deck once a week, but have since removed the plant from the guests’ property. On arrival we provide a walk-through of the home so that guests are familiar with its amenities.

Absolutely beautiful spot!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week and we didn't want to leave! Bill and Pat were easy to deal with and so helpful with knowledge of the area. The pictures do not do the place justice. The house is beautiful and the deck is the perfect place to relax, eat, have coffee in the morning - you name it. The house was clean and well-equipped. Thanks to Bill and Pat for sharing this little piece of paradise with us! I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to rest, relax and unwind! We have rented many places in the Finger Lakes and I would rate this among the best.

Owner's Response: As the owner of the home on the lake, it is gives me a feeling of pride knowing that guests who have rented many places in the Finger Lakes feel that this home is among the best. This season we have purchased a brand new couch, a new rocker recliner and a 46 in HD flat screen TV. This home truly has everything you could want in your vacation home. We are now accepting 2014 bookings, and will be renting from Friday to Friday. So many guests would like to be here on a weekend. So we'll see how this change in 'turn over day' goes.

Activity and Interests

While you are staying in the Finger Lakes Region, it is hard to pass up the famous winery tours. Shoppers would enjoy visiting Auburn's new Bass Pro Shop and the nearby Prime Outlets. There are live theater productions at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, and first run movies at two large movie complexes and a drive-in. Hikers would enjoy nearby Fillmore Glen State Park or Buttermilk Falls. We have our own hiking trails and beautiful cascades to enjoy on our own property. History buffs could visit the Harriet Tubman Home, the Seward House and the Women's Rights Museum. The nearby quaint town, Skaneateles, offers fine dining, unique shops and relaxing boat tours . An hour away is the Finger Lakes Race Track and its exciting gambling facility. Niagara Falls is only 2 1/2 hours away. One mile from home is a marina and a restaurant - both accessible by boat or car. Sports fans have the nearby Nascar tracks, minor league baseball and car shows. In August, the NY JETS training camp is in Cortland only 23 miles away. The Buffalo BILLS are training in Pittsford only 71 miles away. This is a great opportunity to get autographs from the players, and it's all free of charge. Of course you can always just relax at your lakefront paradise and watch the boats, the wild life and the waves lap the shore. Enjoy.
