Just what we needed
This little home is perfect for a couple or a family of 3 looking for a quiet getaway on one of the best lakes in Traverse City. The location is great! It's only 15 min to town and situated at the end of a neighborhood street, tucked away in the woods with a private pier and everything you need. We loved the paddleboard and proximity to the small island in the lake that has a big sandbar. The views from the home are beautiful too. The home itself is cozy and stocked with essentials. The bed was comfortable and the recliners were great after a long day on the lake. The only downside for us was that the trees shaded the pier and water for most of the day, so the only way to be in the sun is by going out in the water about 15-20 feet from the pier. But we were happy to see they had an anchor and a rope in that area so we could tie our rafts to it, keeping us from drifting away. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would go back again.
We are so glad that you had a great time staying with us as we enjoyed having you! Please come and visit us again soon Kim.
Small but great view
It didn't have A/C and only had one full bed and another room had a twin mattress that came out from under another twin mattress. Practically on the floor. The rental agency that runs this is out of Traverse City and it threw me. So it really sleeps 3 comfortably and then from there its bringing blow up mattress to fit 6. Besides that it is on a awesome view of the lake and you can walk right down to the water on your private walk. So all in all. I would definitely stay there again! While there is no beach the water is shallow enough to stand and it not hit your knees and its very sandy. The agency offered to even have rentals brought out to the property if we wanted a boat or jet ski and propane for the grill if it ran out. I would definitely go back!
The cabin was great! Awesome view from the deck! There is not much of a beach area, however if you go out to the island, there is plenty of sand for the kids to play around in. I brought a family of 4 (2 adults 2 kids). This cabin is perfect for this size family. The description makes it appear there is more sleeping arrangements then there actually is. I had my in-laws up for a few days and the sleeping was a little cramped. First of all, the second bedroom does not have two full beds. One of them was a cot on a fold up metal frame that collapsed all the time (I took the mattress off the frame and placed it on the floor which my daughter was fine with). Second of all, I do not believe the sofa is a pull out. It is a wood frame sofa that barely could fit me stretched out (I'm only 5'6). Overall, the cabin was great! Very clean and centrally located! We went to downtown TC with ease as well as many other attractions, including Sleeping Bear Dunes and famous Moomer's Ice Cream (only 3 miles away). Also, I only saw one paddle board. There were a couple other flotation devices that I would definitely not describe as paddle boards, however the one paddle board was very nice! The weekend I was there, it was very private. Neighbors on one side only on weekends and I did not see the other neighbors at all. Overall, very satisfied. I would like to return next year.
