Great place to stay in Sun City, AZ

  • 5 of 5

This is a very comfortable, well-kept up property. I felt at home. I would highly recommend staying here. Although I did not get to see a coyote, I did enjoy the grapefruit from the tree in the backyard.

Owner's Response: We need to go out and talk with those coyotes. However, they are as independent as our grown children and decide on their own whom they will favor. Grapefruit are much more dependable. Thank you for your kind words.

Second Time a Charm

  • 5 of 5

Mary's House has everything one could wish for while away from home - 2 BRs, 3rd BR has computer/printer, 2 full baths, well-furnished kitchen, living area with large screen TV and cable, covered car space and delightful patio with fruit trees and hopping rabbits. The location is excellent, less than 5 minutes off the NW corner of the 101 Loop. Except during rush hour, the PHX airport is an easy 20 minute ride with Tucson an 90 minutes south and Sedona the same to the north. If you are a baseball fan, the spring training homes of the Dodgers, Brewers, Indians, Reds, Royals, Padres, Mariners, and Rangers are close by. If you're a shopper, there's everything you need on W. Bell Rd. or in Surprise - 10 minutes from lovely Mary's House. Topping it off, Paul and Mary are wonderful owners, who maintain their property wonderfully and expect their renters to do the same! Enjoy!

Owner's Response: Such kind words. Thank you. Many of our guests return year after year. Our guests have come because they need a place to stay while caring for a loved one who lives near by, because they play in a Senior baseball league, because they are looking for a base to travel to such places as Sedona and the Grand Canyon, because they want to have a good place to stay while they go hunting for their own home in Sun City, because they wanted to golf and hike, etc. We have had guests from Canada, Japan, Tennessee, British Columbia, Washington State, Iowa, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and other far-away places. Bring us your reason for coming and we will give you honest guidance whether you stay at Mary's house or somewhere else.

Owner's Response: We have been blessed to have wonderful Guests such as Stanley H. and his wife. We are blessed to have a wonderful caretaker. Everyone working together makes for very pleasant stays. We appreciate the care and respect that Stanley and the others have provided for Mary's Home because it allows those who follow to have an equally positive experience. What Stanley says about shopping is true. We might add that if you are willing to travel an additional 15 minutes either West or East you will find huge, traditional malls, big box stores, movie theaters, etc. But if you are looking for natural Arizona experiences we are the ideal jumping off place..

3 R's: RELAXING! REFRESHING! RENEWING!

3 R's : ~ RELAXING ~ REFRESHING ~ RENEWING ~

Mary's House is so perfectly pointed with a cool, comfortable, private, fruit-filled ( grapefruit & tangelo tree) backyard & patio a must for breakfast eating, bird watching, visiting & reading.

Then you enter the house that says: "You're home!"

All the amenities one needs, or has forgotten in packing for this trip, are available. Every corner of Mary's House & the lively Kokopelli characters say: "RELAX! Be REFRESHED! You'll be RENEWED by the time you leave."

Owner's Response: WOW! How Kind. We thank Marlys for doing her share to keep Mary's House in such wonderful condition so that others--and finally we ourselves--are sure to find a comfortable home away from home. Oh. You didn't mention my backyard favorite--the two large saguaros.

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

“We have always stayed at a hotel when we visited Phoenix annually for a baseball tournament. This year we decided to try a rental home in Sun City. What a joy it was to have an entire house rather than a single room in a hotel. This home was immaculate and had everything needed and much more for a two-week stay - complete kitchen with all the appliances, large stacked washer and dryer, 3 BRs, 2 full baths with great showers, internet connection with printer and fax, large flat screen TV, morning paper in the driveway, delightful patio, picturesque cacti in the backyard, close to highways, very near to stores, malls, and restaurants, and the price was right! What more could you want!”

Location

From the Owner

All that is attractive about Arizona. Inexpensive to live here. Very active environment. Desert landscape so that there is low maintenance. Pick your own grapefruit for breakfast that you eat on the patio. Many of our guests stay as they take advantage of the offerings of Arizona, visit friends, take care of family members who are infirm, or search for their own home to buy.
