About Giselle Solis
We are a family of 5 , we currently live in Merida, this is our summer home. We love to stay here, any time of the year. Carlos and I have three daugthers , an Architect, an Odontologist and a Lawyer.
Why Giselle Solis chose Telchac Puerto
This is a lovely house built in a 3 acres coconut plantation, this is a property that is 2 Km. from the center of Telchac, from 1 Km. you can find groceries stores and restaurants, so, is not in the middle of the croud and close enough to buy whatever you need. Let me tell you, that September ,October and June are beautiful almost as July and August, that are the most expensive in the year.
What makes this House unique
In this unique property you can watch the sea from every and each room of the house, so when you wake up in the morning you just open your eyes to a magnificent view of coconut trees and the sea, also it has a big terrace where to hang your hammocks, to be closer with nature. Big front cristal windows and doors ( beach side ) allows you to enjoy the view from each room of he house. Curved windows and doors are made from wood and gives the place a charming style.

We had to cancel our trip doe to the virus, but apparently VRBO didn't get the memo and demanded a review. Here you go.
COVID-19 forced a reschedule-TBD
I am rescheduling my stay for later in the year.
Giselle has been very gracious on the phone and
has reassured me that I can reschedule without any
I am very happy about that and can't wait to finalize the reschedule.
Ideal place to get away from everything
We stayed from 21/12 until 30/12. Weather wise it was perfect, first half of stay was quite windy so perfect for myself, warm but not too hot. Second half was a lot warmer, 32 degrees, which brought with it humidity, but still comfortable. The town has quite a few restaurants of which we only visited 2 (not because we did not like them but our son is allergic to seafood, so didn't want to tempt fate) but both were simple fresh dishes, enjoyed by all. Progresso and Merida were both nice distractions in their own ways, and certainly worth a drive if you need a break. I cannot convey how nice the Yucatan people are, always smiling and pleasant. Back to the villa, whatever it may lack in mod cons for some people it more than made up for in its location, especially when you are swaying in a hammock listening to the waves, who cares. It is in the best position on the coast line as far as I'm concerned, whichever way you choose to walk - it only takes 35 minutes to walk to the pier and centre of town. Last but not least we were greeted upon arrival by Giselle and her husband who were just lovely and welcoming. I would have loved to meet them upon departure to thank them and give them a great big hug, for letting us have the opportunity to be able to stay for 9 nights in their paradise:)
Ps Look up when moon rise is, it truly is magical, especially with a Dos Equis in hand ;)
great property in a lovely location
Property has all the amenities described and very comfortable. the master bedroom has a great view of the ocean. White cotton linens were great.
Pool nice and clean
weather was not good- lots of over cast skies, high wind and grey skies. when there was sun it was difficult to find it in the spacious gardens because of the number of coconut trees. Some judicious felling would be a great help especially in the months when the weather is so variable
Thank you David, Merry Christmas, yes the weather was no good , not always is like that.
I'm glad you had a relax time and the house is what you expected.
My best wishes for 2019 and hope to be your host again.
Giselle and Carlos have a beautiful beach home. Everything about my stay was great. If you’re here in Telchac to relax this is the place.
Telchac is located 45 minutes from de capital city of Yucatan wich
is Merida, the white city.
We have the mayan ruins of Xcambo 10 minutes from the house where if
your lucky you will be able to see thousands of green singing
Uxmal and Chichen Itza are located at 2 hours from the house.
Dzibichaltun ruins are 40 minutes away from Telchac.
Right behind the house you can take a wonderful tour where you can
see four cenotes and a lot of wild bird species (flamingoes,
canadian ducks, camachos etc.) it's a tour you wont forget.
You shouldn't miss it, it's beautiful.
In the village you can rent some boats to take you fishing at
Also in the village you can find churches, bakeries, several
restaurants (wich serve tipical and seafood), shops, convenience stores
where you can get every thing you need.
Market place where you can get: meat, fruits, vegetables.
On Sundays you can enjoy the best cochinita pibil in all Yucatan,
you wont forget.
As you can see there are lots of things to do, and we can suggest a
lot more of other options.
There is also internet service as well as a small hospital. The house
is 20 miles from Progreso, which is the most important port in
Yucatan. Here you can find supermarkets, a bigger hospital, and a
small shopping center with 4 movie theaters and many handcraft
stores. Bigger restaurants and night clubs are found at
the malecon(The front beach main street of the port). Cruise
Liners stop at this port . Two hundred meters away from the house
buses come back and forth from Telchac to Progreso.
