About robert brooks
My father built this home when I was young. I totally renovated it in 2012 and made it mostly rustic but kept some of the original characteristics. The main floor ceilings were plastered when the house was built by a one man expert that can't be found today. My wife and I flag stoned the patio and created a very relaxing firepit area which we love to enjoy when it is not being rented. We love to hike through the woods adjacent to the house about 1/2 mile to the beautiful hand made waterfall. Sitting on the patio you can see the beautiful mountains and the neighbors farm with cows.

Family friend get-together
This was a good spot for old friends to get together with our kids for white water rafting. The firepit made for good marshmallow toasting. The kitchen was up to all our meals. The bathrooms are newly remodeled and quite nice. The gas grill functioned very well, and there are grilling utensils in the kitchen, so you don't need to take any. The location was about 10 minutes from downtown Ohiopyle. It's a lovely drive. We had to call Robert a couple of times with questions and he answered immediately and pleasantly. We tried walking to the waterfall but weren't wearing the right shoes for when it turned into a very narrow wooded trail.
We were disappointed that the jukebox was out of order. There's no dishwasher, and whoever used the place before us hadn't washed their dishes very thoroughly, which is why I took off a star for cleanliness. Otherwise the house was very clean. The wifi connection was strong but my phone had a hard time getting a signal. Others with different carriers had a signal, though. I'd stay here again, it's a good place.
The house was everything that it said it would be. Very close to ohiopyle state park. Robert was very fast in responding to any questions. Definitely recommend it and would stay again.
There were 6 people in our party and we had a lovely weekend stay. The house was very clean, well stocked and exactly as described. Plenty of linens and towels are provided. The kitchen and eating space is a little on the small side, but there is lots of space to spread out in the house and the finished basement is a great place to hang out. The house is nicely updated and the showers were A+. We tried to find the hike to the waterfall, but the path was overgrown and we could not find the dirt road or orange markings. Nonetheless, the area is beautiful and we enjoyed sitting outside watching the cows and turkeys, and looking at the beautiful landscape. I would recommend taking some camp chairs if you want to enjoy the outdoor space.

Great place would stay again
Fresh and clean. Quiet, peaceful, pleasant stay.
There's a difference between "clean" and "fresh and clean" and this place was fresh and clean. The appliances were modern. The kitchen was well stocked. Our trip was for unplugging so I can't comment on the Wifi speed (although I know it was working as was the cable TV). We were really looking forward to the walking path to the waterfall, but that didn't work out for us. It got hard to follow and perhaps, being skittish city folk, we bailed too soon. Overall experience was excellent.
Beautiful Place to Stay
My friends and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. The property is nice, the basement game room is awesome, and many amenities are easy to find. The proximity to Ohiopyle was a nice plus — we only had to drive 12 minutes to go whitewater rafting!
