Organic, fresh and quiet.

  • 5 of 5

The Snuggle Inn is a Charming cottage located in the center of Peaks Island. The fresh colors and natural, organic touches made the cottage a lovely place to rest and enjoy the island. We felt rejuvenated and comforted by the well-appointed cottage, and the quick access to both sandy and stony beach access. The bikes that live on the porch of the cottage were a very enjoyable part of our stay. Biking around the island was a blast! There was a Whole Foods in Portland just before the ferry, and we took the time to stock up there. There is a market on the island, and it had surprisingly good prices. We picked up a few odds and ends there. Because we were there the first week of June, we found that some of the islands attractions were not yet open. It did not diminish our enjoyment of the places we did find, and we would definitely go to the island again. The owners are very good at communication, and have done an excellent job of making your stay as comfortable as possible. The linens were smooth and comfortable, and the towels were fluffy, and the kitchen was supplied with everything you needed to prepare meals. We even found eggs and lovely Irish butter in the fridge, which the owners told us we were free to use. Overall it was a lovely experience, and we are returning home refreshed from our visit to the Snuggle Inn.

Perfect for a couples getaway and a convenient Maine island experience.

Nicely appointed older cottage set in the woods. We rented bikes and got good exercise cruising around the beautiful rocky seashore.

Snuggle Inn happily!

  • 5 of 5

Wow - not only is the cottage adorable and sparkling clean, it has everything you could want and then some. You're in the woods with the sound of birds to wake you. Have your coffee on the patio or the porch...or the balcony...or in the screen house. Or walk a few minutes down the road and have your coffee by the ocean. You have quiet but can easily get to anything on the island. The Snuggle Inn is small yet roomy. Friends joined me for a few days and said the fold out sofa is wonderful. Kate was great! One day in and I knew I'll be back!!

This little cottage is just perfect. The place was spotless. Everything seemed new, couches, bedding, towels. Owner was very receptive and easy to deal with. I would go back there again and would recommend it to anyone who would like a cozy get-away!

It was magical!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time at the Snuggle Inn. My family of four (two adults and two kids under six) snuggled right in for a wonderful week in the woods. The rocky beach a short walk from the cabin was perfect for the kids in the mornings as they hunted crabs and treasures.

Kate was a fantastic host and we can't wait to come back for our next vacation!

A cozy house that makes you feel like family

  • 5 of 5

My daughter was married on Peaks Island, and we needed to find a place to stay. A great many family members, from both sides, traveled to Peaks for the wedding, most finding places near the pier (ferry). How lucky we were to find this property.

The moment we opened the door, we felt like someone special had handed us a key to their private, cozy house in the woods. Surrounded by trees, with its wonderful old wooden porch, this house was inviting. The living room boasted a couch (pull-out), a wall television (only a few stations; more than enough for us), bookcase filled with books, chairs, coffee table with magazines, board games, puzzles, metal detectors, I could go on.....There is a cozy fireplace, easy to light, and provides more than enough heat if needed. The dining room included a table w/chairs, a chest of drawers (with kitchen towels and other items you might need) and the stairs going up to the loft. The colors were bright, the wood floor polished, and the lighting fixtures reminding you, this is on an island. The kitchen, fully furnished (no microwave, but who needs it) with a gas stove, had everything we needed. There is a small bathroom, complete with shower off the kitchen. Upstairs, again, that warm feeling and wonderfully decorated was the queen bed, large chest of drawers, another pullout couch, and chair. We slept soundly and comfortably. We didn't use the outside area, (bikes included), as we were busy with the wedding, but we felt like home returning to our little house in the woods.

I want to make mention of the Internet. We stayed at a hotel in Portland prior to coming across to the island, and it was awful; kicking us off randomly. The Internet at this property, The Snuggle Inn, was stellar!

I would not hesitate to refer others to stay here. In fact, many family members came out to see where we were staying and were pleasantly surprised. This property is exactly how it is described. The owner anticipates your needs, and provides you with sheets and towels, as well as other items. You are minutes away from the ocean, minutes away from the town center, and hours away from noise and distractions! We loved it. It's name, "Snuggle Inn" is appropriate. The owner was quick to respond from the moment we contacted her to rent this property. The little vase of wild flowers was a warm welcome. Thank You!!!!
