Charmed and Relaxed

  • 5 of 5

I and three friends just returned from our wonderful fall get-away at the charming Alpine Mountain Lodge. The location was perfect, as we were minutes from the little village in Julian, yet our surroundings, made it seem as if we were miles from the maddening crowd. We all agreed this was the most relaxed we had been in a long while. The rocking chair on the deck, was a fabulous place to read and take in the view or sit and listen to woodpeckers and other birds. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare full meals, which we took advantage of, especially for breakfasts. The downstairs bedroom had a huge, comfortable bed, as did the loft at the top of the spiral steps. And although the loft has a separate sleeping area with a couch/bed, two of our party opted for the downstairs sofas in front of the wood burning stove. The steamer trunk upstairs held more than enough extra sheets, blankets, pillows, comforters, etc. to keep everyone happy and comfortable on chilly fall nights. Everyone agreed that this was a place we definitely want to visit again.

Cozy mountain house

  • 4 of 5

We spent a family weekend in this mountain house (with 2 young boys), and we enjoyed it very much. The boys loved the spiral staircase and loft, not to mention all the fun decorations! The bathroom is a bit tight, but nothing to get too hung up on. The kitchen could have used a bit more baking dishes, which made meal preparation a challenge. Otherwise lovely place!

Owner's Response: Dear Paige Stout Thankyou for the kind review and we are so glad you and your boys enjoyed your stay here. As it happens the bathroom extension is our next to do project and we plan on building it in the quiet off season in January.it will double the size. Baking dishes are now on my K-Mart shopping list! We hope to see you again in Julian. Regards Marty Emery ( owner)

Everything we'd hoped for

  • 5 of 5

Obviously, Julian is just a beautiful city. This cabin however is just far enough removed from main street so that you feel like you're on a secluded moutainside. But Julian is the point, right? So, thankfully you are no more than 7 to 10 minutes from Main st., able to enjoy all the quaint facets of Julian. As for the Cabin itself, the Loft bedroom was amazing, as you wake up to the sunrise every morning in the large bay window. The wood stove was beautiful, allowing my family to really feel like we were in the woods enjoying a cool autumn evening. The kitchen and living room are perfect for our little family of 3. Our dog loved the yard. He was able to explore and comfortably run to and from the porch. Speaking of the porch, it was a fan favorite for the whole family as we ate breakfast and supper out there. This cabin fulfilled our every wish for a little autumn getaway.

Winter or summer, a great venue!

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed here 4 times, it's my favorite place to stay when I'm in Julian. Aside from the obviously incredible views from the glass covered A-frame, it's truly nestled in nature, with all that entails. The interior is rustic, clean and quaint, with a roomy loft and all the amenities you'd need to be comfortable. It has wifi and cable, but I just listened to music and the wind. Beautiful location, would totally recommend.

Magical Christmas Getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

Our decision to have a special little holiday getaway included staying at this charming little cabin outside Julian and we couldn't have been more thrilled! Rustic and comfortable, it is now our favorite vacation rental and we will come again. There was even a little snow on the ground! We were able to enjoy a quiet mountain getaway with Julian apple pie in the refrigerator waiting for us, thanks to delivery by management. Booking was easy, we were able to speak to the property manager on the phone before we booked and she was happy to answer all our questions and make sure we were choosing the perfect place for us, she even made some restaurant recommendations that were top notch! We loved Jeremy's on the Hill for dinner the day we checked in and then had crepes the next morning at The Candied Apple, both places were delicious! She also recommended wine from Orphila, we got a bottle and it was the perfect thing for a romantic evening in front of a cozy little wood burning stove. We would most certainly recommend this cabin to our friends and family, we would recommend booking through Julian Vacation Rentals in general because we were treated so well and had the best time. Julian is a lovely place to visit and this experience makes it even more so. We can't wait to come again!
