About Jihan and Luke Anderson Deryckx
We are a young family who love to split our time between Seattle and Coeur d'Alene. He grew up in Western Washington and She grew up just across the street here in Coeur d'Alene. We're thrilled to be able to share our family's connection to this wonderful neighborhood and community with you.
Jihan and Luke Anderson Deryckx purchased this House in 2003
Why Jihan and Luke Anderson Deryckx chose Coeur d'Alene
The location! Just a short walk to all our favorite things in Coeur d’Alene: downtown, boat docks, beaches, Tubbs Hill, and many great bike paths. Not to mention the great view of the lake and mountains, with the peacefulness of the park leading to Tubbs Hill on one side of the property, it is just a great place to live and vacation.
What makes this House unique
Sandwiched between Tubbs Hill and Sander’s Beach on the quiet side of downtown, it is a little oasis in the middle of everything. With a bubbling Jacuzzi overlooking Tubbs Hill park and a view of the water, you’ll find yourself quickly warmed and relaxed after a day full of activities.

Family Weekend Getaway
Cozy, clean cottage with beautiful lake view and comfortable accommodations. Hiked Tubbs trail each morning located behind cottage. Beautiful views. Close to shopping and dining. Spent one day skiing and snow shoeing at Schweitzer ski resort. Wonderful weekend, hope to come back!
Good place to stay
Not as handicap accessible as I would have liked. Hard to discern on website.
Great location, responsive owners!
We had a little snafu on check in but the owners responded quickly, as they did for all things. Besides that, the property is just as wonderful as it looks from the photos. If you're looking for a place where you can park the car, leave it and walk to everything you need, this is the place. There are hiking trails, parks, stores and restaurants all within easy walking distance, as well as the lake of course.
Wonderful location. We walked everywhere. Shopping, coffee, and eating establishments all close by! Morning and all day lakeviews were beautiful. We also walked the Tubbs Hill trail daily.
Best location and sweet property.
This property and location could not have been better. Clean house and comfortable beds. Plenty of towels and kitchen utensils. Very nice and accommodating owners to work with.
We loved hiking Tubbs Hill and were far enough from Spokane not to feel the crowds, but to be close enough for shopping.
Thank you for the great stay!
Lovely neighborhood, beautifully kept house!
For hiking, biking and swimming, you can't beat the location! Quiet, shady streets, though the private marina across the street attracts some traffic. The house was cooled well downstairs, though upstairs was problematic until we were told to close the registers downstairs to force the air upstairs. The wall AC units weren't totally reliable as backup cooling, and the window in the master bedroom and one upstairs room were missing screens, so cooling with night air wasn't an option when the wall units fritzed. We stayed six nights, but the hot tub wasn't cleaned and heated until our third night, which was disappointing. Wasps kept getting inside the closed downstairs windows, which was unnerving as my DIL is highly allergic. The owner was great, immediately coming over to knock down the nests as soon as we realized the wasps weren't just a fluke. We loved how clean the house was, and how responsive the owners were. There were some minor issues with supplies: there were two skinny paper towel rolls provided, which wasn't enough, we did two loads of laundry and the laundry soap ran out. There is plenty of dinnerware but, strangely, only two dish towels and no dish cloths. The single 10" frying pan provided was inadequate for seven adults and a child, and we couldn't find any extra bath linens or a sheet set for the futon. There were 4 or 5 beach towels available, a blender, a popcorn popper, and lots of dinnerware. Bring your own ziplocks and Tupperware, though. The dock nearby is private, so boat rental has to take place at the public 3rd Street Dock, about 7 minutes away by car. There is the small public Sanders Beach just a two minute walk from the house, which is nice!
