House, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, 10 Sleeps
Cead Mile Failte, "a hundred thousand welcomes" awaits you at Fairway Lodge. Located within the gated Mill Creek Country Club, this elegantly furnished, open-floor plan Scottish Lodge is decorated in the traditional style of Scotland, where the world-wide, challenging game of golf was born.
Fairway Lodge is a tribute and in remembance of the Scottish immigrants who settled Macon County and North Carolina and to Dr. D Gordan Teall, the Baron of Huntley. Dr. Teall brought the Scottish Tartans Museum to Franklin and many of the museum displays were donated by Dr. Teall. He was a true Scottish gentleman who is remembered fondly in Franklin for always "wearing the kilt" and his dedication to the Scottish Tartans Museum.
The ancestry of our family in American began when David Wemyss left his home in the Wemyss Castle in Scotland for a new life in America. He brought with him, a new bride, and the Scottish traditions that still exist in Macon County and in our family. My grandmother, Kate Agnes Wemyss, shared many of these traditions and old ways of Scotland with her six sons. William Wemyss was her oldest son and my father. Come and share the beauty of the North Carolina mountains and it's Scottish Heritage with us.
Nestled in the majestic Smoky Mountains and overlooking the fairways and greens of Mill Creek's 18 hole championship course, this fully equipped, air conditioned, centrally heated and air conditioned 3 bedroom, 3 bath lodge has accommodations for 8 to 10 guests.

About the Owner
(1 traveler reviews)
My family had a gathering in Franklin and several of us stayed at the Fairway Scottish Lodge. Other families in our group stayed at the villas which were just down the road. The Scottish Lodge was large enough for all of us to meet at the end of the day for dinner in a lovely dining area inside and out. We had others coming in from the surrounding area for a picnic on Saturday and had a wonderful visit on the patio which had plenty of comfortable seating. My husband and I were coming in from California and the owner was very helpful in providing information about the area. The views are amazing. I enjoyed getting up early with my coffee, sitting in a rocking chair on one of the decks and taking in the beautiful mountains of NC. We could not have asked for anything more comfortable and for the number of people we had in our party, there was plenty of room. Many thanks to the owner who provided a charming place for us to meet. I was born in Franklin, but it had been quite a while since I had been there. This was a memorable homecoming.
