About the Owner

Both Whitney and I were raised locally and have lived on the property for over 20 years renting originally from the family who's ancestors built the house in the 1800's. We fell in love with the property and when the opportunity to purchase the house was offered to us we knew this house was meant to be our home. We are a family of four raising our two daughters, ages 11 and 14, on the ocean in a small town. Whitney owns and operates a gallery in town and I act as caretaker of the property and work in town as well. We met some wonderful people and made some lasting friendships over the years. Many of our guests return every year. We appreciate everyone who stays with us as it is they who make our life here possible.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We loved the location of this house! The neighborhood was quiet and our kids loved the big backyard that was great to run around in when we weren't at the beach. It is right next to Perkins Cove which we really enjoyed. The kids loved to fish off the docks in the cove in the early morning and every evening after dinner we would walk to the cove to get an ice cream and make a stop at the candy shop for penny candy - making memories. The owners Brian and Whitney were so kind . They are super kid friendly and have all sorts of equipment and gear like strollers, highchairs and beach toys, fishing poles, etc... that was available for us to use .It was great because we didn't have to bring all that stuff with us!! They even provided babysitting services so that my husband and I could have a night out on our own - a real treat!! The loft had everything we needed. It was bright and cheery with lots of colorful artwork . Whitney owns a shop in Ogunquit called Art and Soul Gallery were I bought a piece by a local artist just like one that was in the loft . It was a great souvenir and reminder of our wonderful summer vacation in Maine and our stay in the loft. We are going to make this a yearly tradition for our family!

As owners of a rental property we realize that we are in the service industry and accordingly work to make our customers happy and comfortable. Their are many choices for rentals in Ogunquit and we appreciate everyone who chooses us for their vacation. We provide a clean and comfortable apartment as well as address any of our tenants' issues that may arise. We are responsive and responsible. During the summer we live one mile from the property and visit it on a daily basis, as well as, clean the apartments ourselves on Saturdays. Issues do arise when you have weekly tenant change overs with 5 hours to clean in between. We work hard to prevent them from negatively impacting our patrons week.

To date, the carpeting has been replaced in both bedrooms, the internet has been updated to cable rather than DSL now using a dual band wireless n-router with the extender having also been updated giving complete coverage on the property. The picture of the bridge is indeed from the property (I took it myself), used to show proximity to the cove and in fact I can reach the cove from my yard with my lob wedge (60 yds max). As many people know life can make being responsive to others difficult at times. We work as hard as we can to make our patrons comfortable and happy during their stay. We appreciate your staying with us and would love to have the opportunity to share our home with you.

From the Owner

The farm is a unique property in Ogunquit maintaining its charm and originality. It is set on 3/4 of an acre with a barn and cottages. It has been an Inn or B & B for generations and we have a direct link to its past. We are not a development that sought to place as many dwellings in an area as possible. We are a property that has developed over 150 years and continues to maintain that tie to the past.

Activity and Interests

Located on the southern coast of Maine, the small town of Ogunquit (which means beautiful place by the sea) is a picture perfect coastal village with much to offer. This unique property is just a stones throw from picturesque Perkins Cove where you'll find many quaint shops, great restaurants, art galleries and a harbor full of boats that offer deep sea fishing, scenic cruises and sailing. Perkins Cove is the beginning of the famous Marginal Way(one of Ogunquit's most precious jewels) a one mile walk that follows the rocky coastline to the center of Ogunquit village. If you don't want to walk you can catch one of many trolleys that run continuously servicing all of Ogunquit. Ogunquit is touted as a wonderful 'strolling town' by Down East Magazine and like Perkin's Cove has many charming shops, cafes, restaurants, ice cream shops, art galleries and lovely flowered walkways. In town there is also a historic summer movie theater that plays first run movies and matinees on rainy days. Also close by are public tennis courts and playgrounds. And let’s not forget Ogunquit's beautiful three mile white sand beach for sunning and surfing. Ogunquit is also known for its arts and has a wonderful art museum as well as the nationally acclaimed Ogunquit Playhouse that offers popular shows starring well known personalities. From Ogunquit one can quickly access miles of sandy beaches, estuaries and rocky coastline - go a few miles inland and you'll discoverMt.Agamenticuswhere you can take in breathtaking views of theAtlantic Oceanas well as the White Mountains of New Hampshire. There are numerous hiking and biking trails to enjoy and picnic areas.

You'll find everything you want and more is within striking distance from this secluded yet convenient unique location.

Activities: swimming, surfing, kayaking, tennis, golf, biking ( rentals available in town for bikes and scooters), hiking, sailing, deep sea fishing, lobstering tours, mini golf, playgrounds, antiquing, dinning, outlet shopping in nearby Kittery, Maine, and much more...

Attractions: Ogunquit beach, Perkins Cove, Yorks Wild Kingdom ( with animals and amusements),summer theater at the Ogunquit Playhouse, the Ogunquit Art Museum and Barn Gallery, movie theater, Mount Agamenticus, Racheal Carson Nature preserve,Winn Farm and Laudholm Farm that both have ongoing programs for both kids and adults, The Old york Historical Society, Portland, Maine is only 35 minutes to the north and has a wonder childrens museum as well as great shopping and dinning in The Old Port. Portsmouth, New Hampshire is only twenty minutes to the south and offers music, theater, dinning, sidewalk cafes, shopping ,museums like Old Straberry Bank, and Prescott Park for strolling and picnicing. Fort Foster and Fort McClarey are also close by in Kittery Point, Maine for beaches and exploring. There is so much to do that you will never be bored!

From the Owner

We offer many of the large items a family requires but are hard to pack such as strollers, pack and plays, booster seats, beach toys and chairs, and coolers as well as a large secluded backyard to explore and relax in. We enjoy the cool evening breeze of the ocean and are situated within earshot of a working harbor where people lobster, tuna fish, offer scenic tours and day sail.Perkins Cove is right out our backyard and within minutes you can find shops ,restaurant and art galleries but best of all in the evening after dinner you can get an ice cream at Billy's and fill a bag with penny candy at the cove candy shop! While this property is removed from the hustle and bustle everything you could want and more is right at your fingertips.
