This was a good place for a nice quiet getaway.
I chose this place because it was right on the water and thought we would be able to fish right from our deck. This was a surprise for my fiance's birthday. He loves to fish. Unfortunately we were not able to because the water was too low. We had to find other places. It was very disappointing when we found this out.
But overall we had a great time.
Pups first road trip
Overall, a positive experience but I wouldn’t visit again
Pros: location was fantastic, being able to fish right behind the camper was a great feature, the deck was very nice and we enjoyed grilling out, campground had nice amenities and was family friendly, check in and check out were very easy, Debbie was friendly and helpful.
Cons: 1) furniture was absolutely filthy. It was obvious the couch and chair hadn’t been shampooed in years, if ever. As soon as we walked in, my son’s allergies went crazy, which was a clear indication that the furniture was dirty and contained who knows how much dog hair (and I say that understanding that pets are allowed. We have a dog and my son is fine at home because we keep up with the hair). I never once sat on the furniture and discouraged my children from doing so as well. Not feeling comfortable to sit on the furniture made it quite difficult to relax. 2) the WiFi was not reliable and for the last 2 days of the trip was not functioning at all.
I have spoken to my cleaners regarding the dog hair issue. They assure me it will not be a problem in the future.
A super fun and cool little find!
My boyfriend and I (along with our dog Bandit) came here for a weekend get-away. We had such a great time! First of all, the RV is great! It’s extremely clean and it has everything you need! (Minus sheets.) It is on a canal that sits off the bay. On the side of the unit, it has a porch covered by an awning and on the back part of the deck there is a picnic table and grill. In the mornings, we would sit out back enjoying our breakfast and coffee we got next door from the Baja Restaurant. During the day my boyfriend relaxed under the awning while I fished my butt off in the canal until it got dark. We also viewed the sunrises and did some dolphin watching in the morning with the dog at the beach, which was only about an 8 minute walk away. During our stay we went swimming at the beach and after that we took a dip in the pool. Both were super nice! Everything that you want to do is in close proximity. The Baja Restaurant is right next door to the park. They offer coffee and breakfast options in the morning from 6AM to 1130AM and in the evenings they have a fantastic bar and grill. The owners are super cool and very friendly and will talk your ear off! Next to that there is a small bait and tackle/gift shop and on the other side of that there is a small rental place. There you can rent kayaks, paddle boards, as well as bikes.
As for check-in, there is a lady by the name of Debbie who makes access into the park and checking into the unit a breeze. At the start of our trip she even stopped by (with her dog Scarlett) to welcome us and inform us of all the things to do in and around the park! The park is extremely dog friendly (our dog loved it there, especially sunbathing on the deck, lol), super clean, and well maintained! Sandbridge is a beautiful little beach town with beautiful beach houses with comical names.
And lastly, about the owner, Mary. She is a nice woman and easy to deal with. She’s good with answering texts and emails and her and her husband take a lot of pride in their property. We hope to go back next year, but hopefully our stay is much longer next time! Thank you Mary for offering such a great rental for our weekend get-away!!!!!!!!
Perfect area & nice little home
*Disclaimer: I would have given five stars but there were just a few small issues that I wanted to address.
My mom and I stayed here for two nights. The unit is very clean, and situated right on a canal so you have a wonderful breeze all the time. Very small issues: I recommend a small fan, since the air duct in the bedroom is small and it takes longer for the air to reach back there. I also am not RV savvy and had to figure out how to turn on lights, etc, and I think people like me would really like issues like this spelled out for us "dummies". The other issue was if you are staying more than a few nights, there is no cabinet drawer space available in the bedroom(they were locked) but the closet is completely open, so if you want to hang all your clothing, that is fine. My mom slept very comfortable on the queen sized bed and I slept good on the pull-out sleeper in the living room. Over all, we love this place!
Thank you so much for taking the time to send me such good, constructive comments. I will definitely include them in next year's "Unit Information".
The drawers are actually not locked, but again because it is an RV, you need to lift up on them to open. I will also include that in the "Unit Information".
Relaxing short get-away!
We only had a short trip of two nights, but this is just what we needed. A short walk to the beach, which we nearly had to ourselves in the early morning. A restaurant next door for evening dinner and morning coffee. Friendly neighbors who visited when we sat out on the deck. The RV was well equipped for our short stay. We hope to be back!
