Great Escapists

  • 5 of 5

Completely remodaled and is a gem. We especially enjoyed the view of the lake from the generous living room window.

Immaculate, well-provided and beautifully finished. You need bring nothing more than clothes, toiletries and good books, as we did. We wanted a quiet get away from our hectic days and got it. March is off season so can't speak for night life but enough "life" in town to satisfy us.

We tend to be home cooks and have enjoyed the "challenges" of cooking in quite a few cottage kitchens often to comic effect. None here --the kitchen, and in fact, all the cottage utilities were well supplied. Our only laugh here was to have not taken a better kitchen inventory before our initial trip to Wegmans as we bought some basics which were already in the kitchen larder.

Our cottage hosts, Kari and Hans, were especially welcoming. They were a wealth of local information and made us feel quite special guests. All resulting in a very relaxing, comfortable stay.

Second stay in the past two years! Love it!

  • 5 of 5

Once again, Hans & Kari took care of everything for us and were so hospitable!

We stayed over Labor Day weekend for four nights and enjoyed every minute! The house was impeccably clean when we arrived and had everything we needed, right down to the little extras! We love staying in this house because it's the perfect size for one family, or two small families; it's close to the lake; and you can walk right up the street and go to all the shops/cafe/restaurants/etc. We were able to use our boat and have easy access to everything we needed. There is a playground just a short walk away that our son LOVED!

This family is beyond kind and we are so happy we were able to stay again. We will definitely be back!!!!!

The Best of Everything

  • 5 of 5

My husband grew up in Bemus Point and we visit every summer. This was our first stay at the Auer cottage and we couldn't be more pleased. Kari and Hans are wonderful hosts. We are so thankful for how easy they made it for us to stay at their cottage. The location is perfect with a beautiful view of the lake and easy access to restaurants and other activities. The cottage itself is comfortable and has everything you need for your stay. We thank Hans and Kari and hope to stay with them again when we visit the area.

Amazing location!

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I stayed here for two nights for a girls weekend. The location is great and you can walk to any of the restaurants in Bemus Point. We did the wine trail thing, which made coming back to this relaxing house that much better after a long day! The house is updated and immaculately clean. Also, Hans and Kari are great with offering suggestions and overall easy to book with.

A Bit of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

If you want to find a bit of paradise away from home, look no further than the Happy Auer Cottage. This recently remodeled cottage offers all the comforts you need. Its rooms are spacious and comfortable with beautiful furnishings. Tucked away in the large bathroom are the washer and dryer. No need to spoil your return trip home by having to do laundry, when you can keep up with while at the cottage. The fully furnished kitchen has everything you need from the full size refrigerator and stove, microwave and dishwasher to coffee pot, toaster, and Crockpot. A huge supply of towels for bathroom and kitchen is included as well as handsoap and dish soap. Toilet paper and paper towels were provided too. The porch out front was a favorite spot to sit. We spent each evening at the umbrella table relaxing and enjoying the view. If you need a slip down at the dock for a boat, that can be arranged. The Happy Auer cottage is in such a fabulous location. It is close (within walking distance) to several Bemus Point restaurants, church, post office, stores, and the floating stage at the lake. Now the best part......this wonderful cottage is owned by the nicest couple, Hans and Kari Auer. They will be sure that everything you need during your stay is taken care of. The parents of Hans live next door so they are available as well should some need arise. Not only were we sad to leave the cottage when our week was up, but also to leave these delightful people. We look forward not only to returning to the cottage but to our new friends, the Auers and their family. We highly recommend this vacation spot.
