Great place to stay for Pergatory activities

  • 4 of 5

Pros: Location rocks for Pergatory, loved the loft, very clean, pullout couch was great for kid, lots of storage space, great tub, great decor

Cons: Low water pressure if multiple faucets are running (this may be common in a mountain condo environment)

Overall, we would stay there again for Pergatory.

The condo itself was great! Fully furnished with a larger than expected king sized bed.

  • 4 of 5

We were very pleased with our stay at cascade village in unit #358. The condo was fully equipped and had everything we needed for our stay - towels, wifi, cooking ware, etc. The bed in the upstairs loft was also much larger than expected, which was a plus. The pullout couch was also great and was much more comfortable than a typical pullout couch. The unit was ready for us in clean condition and welcoming when we arrived. Hot tubs were great after skiing, and the complex itself was only 2 miles from the mountain.

Unfortunately, while we were there the whole complex was having trouble with their water pressure, so one of the nights we weren't able to shower as the water was just dripping from the shower head. Other than that our stay was great and we would definitely book it again!

Owner's Response: Hi Kyle, Thank you so much for your wonderful review of unit #358. I'm so pleased you all enjoyed your stay. The living room furniture is brand new and I agree with you the sleeper sofa is way more comfortable than most. Thank you for being such good sports during the water line break a few weeks ago. We really appreciated everyone's patience with the water provider in getting things back on line. Thanks again for your business. We hope to have you as guests again in the future. Mostly pleasant stay but a little misled...

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I came up from Albuquerque for a relaxing getaway from our little one. The condo was exactly as described and from the pictures, EXCEPT: there are no "incredible views of Engineer Mountain" as stated in the amenities section of the listing. The views are on the other side of this row of condos. We were quite disappointed. The balcony looks out onto dumpsters, tennis courts, another row of condos, and an aspen and pine covered hill. You get a small obstructed view of Grayrock Peak if you sit on the left side of the balcony. Other than that we had some inconveniences that were due to the complex: outdoor hot tubs were broken, water pressure in condo is terrible so there was no way to fill up the big soaking tub and have it hot, the tv signal on some channels was pretty bad. But we made the best of it: we went to the Trimble Hot springs and soaked and got massages one day, we didn't really want to watch tv anyway (the Internet was good enough to handle watching an episode of something on Netflix on one of our devices and that's all the tv we watched), and we took the hike up the path from the condos to the water tanks and got our incredible views of Engineer Mountain, Potato Hill, and sweeping landscape. We highly recommend that hike: apart from the initial ascent, it's pretty easy and just winds along the creek through the aspen forest. Very pleasant and with stunning views through the bare aspens. There might be fewer views with aspen foliage, but it would still be pretty and pleasant.

Overall, it was a nice stay and we would recommend it to people looking for an affordable getaway, but I do recommend making sure the listing states what you actually get, including a picture. None of the pictures offered are of the actual view from the balcony. They are views from around the complex. If the owner isn't going to replace the mattress or at least put a topper on it, I think the listing should say: "bed mattress is very firm", so that people with trouble in that area know to avoid this condo or bring along something for themselves to make it more comfortable. Quality sleep is important, especially on a "relaxing getaway."

Owner's Response: Hi Valerie, I feel terrible that the unit did not meet your expectations. I so wish you would have called me when you arrived. We have multiple condos at Cascade Village and could have moved you to another unit. We pride ourselves on being very transparent with all the pros and cons of all of our units by providing maps of locations of each condo, interior photos of the exact condo, and pictures of the view off each balcony. We always advise guests to contact us immediately if anything is in disarray or not working- including property amenities so we may notify the Homeowner's Association. The mattress has been replaced with a new memory foam mattress (May 2017). Thanks again for your business- much appreciated. Rhonda
