Live like a New Yorker

  • 4 of 5

We, three friends stayed for a week in this lovely decorated appartment in a great neigborhood and felt rigth at home. As stated it's on the 5th floor, but it's actually 4 flights of stairs as the Americans start counting at first floor where we would say 0. Appartment was clean on arrival, except from being a bit dusty. I would advise to throw out the used bathroom items and leftovers in the cupboards and fridge for next guests. We were very happy with having each our own bedroom. Beds are really good. Bathroom is small and the bathtub is rusty and stained so doesn't look so good. Waterpressure is ok, but temperature difficult to adjust. Start with only cold water and add just a little bit of hot and it's ok. The hot pipes are really hot! So the owner should put some insulation material around it I guess. Neigborhood is very nice and near to two subways on 86th street; 2 av and Lexington av. Enough shops and restaurants, C-Town Supermarket on 1 st av/89th and Starbucks right outside the appartment. Fiona is friendly and responds quickly. We had a great time, thx and till next time maybe!

Bell'appartamento in ottima posizione vicino alla metro e ai servizi essenziali.

  • 4 of 5

Comunque tutto molto pulito e organizzato.

Great rental for us

  • 5 of 5

Perfect rental for us. As others have said keep in mind 2 things. First, you have to WALK up 5 floors every time you access the rental. Second, the bathroom is really tight quarters and could be updated a bit. For my family these things weren't really a problem. The location and amount of beds in this unit are excellent. The new Q subway line makes this place even more convenient.

Apt was cute in a very old building, good upper east side location. Just bad experience with owner

  • 3 of 5

Remember this is a 5 story walk up,( no elevator),so if you have problem knees or heavy bags, forget it! We entered the apt and it was cute. The pictures are like the apt except a few things...the bathroom is not really shown adequately on the site. It is tiny! The toilet is squeezed between tub and wall and there is a pipe next to toilet that gets extremely hot,(also another hot pipe in the living room next to bed that makes room warm),so be careful not to touch. I am 5' 6" and 125 pounds and fit ok so, if your are a lot bigger than I , be aware its a tight fit. The rooms are nicely decorated but not a lot of closet space. The kitchen is ok but being an owner of a very well rated rental property myself, I would have definitely made sure there would be nothing in the fridge. Jars and containers of almost empty food were left behind from a previous guest. As well as in the upper cupboards. Open bags of chips and things. The bathroom also needs to be emptied of used soap bars, used razors etc..left on window sill in shower. Felt like no one cleaned that up. Bathrooms should not have remnants of previous guests. Its not very hygienic. The tub in the shower needs to be repaired or replaced because the rust stains look awful.Other wise all else was ok.

The only thing I HIGHLY ADVISE to future guests is you print out not only your agreement with Fiona but write down ALL info from PDF she sends, as well. I didn't print it out and couldn't find it on my phone so I sent her a text message and also emailed her asking for the name of network, password and telling her TV did't change channels. She called me very annoyed. Instead of just giving me the password & network, ( which we thought was on box located next to TV- where it should be from now on so this does not happen to anyone else), she scolded me for not having it , threatened to come to city and thought we should leave her apt, insulted me with terribly offensive words I dare NOT repeat on this site & told me that obviously I did not do a good job with my own rental business. It was literally, craziness. She later called again and resent the email,(again not just giving me the info verbally), I got it on my phone.I figured TV was just dead batteries.Something that should be checked regularly. She asked me to go out and buy some & reimburse me. She did apologize for her outrage, and was concerned we might destroy her apt? I am 56, daughter 26. Left a book behind and she did mail back & said sorry again

The experience was awesome. Fiona communicates in a timely manner. She was helpful. Zero problems. At first I worried about no elevator but WOW what an authentic experience and coming home I miss all the flights of stairs and the walking you get in New York!

There was plenty of room in the apartment. It was perfect. I hope to return and soon

Great area. Cute apartment!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, 2 daughters and I stayed at Fiona's over Easter weekend. We loved the area! The apartment was nice and perfect for us. The bathroom is very tiny and the water temperature is crazy, but it's livable. The walk up to the apartment is a hike, but we liked the workout!
