We loved our stay in this quaint little cabin retreat. All of the basic amenities are provided, even paper towels and hand soap. The little yard in back was perfect for our small dogs. We would recommend staying here to anyone looking for a nice get away in the pines.

Simple but clean and quiet

  • 4 of 5

All was as explained by owner. This quiet little home on the hillside above Pine gave us access to all activities while providing a quiet place to rest at the end of the day.

Great location and property

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time we have been at Don's property in Pine and wont be the last. its comfortable , close to amenities and private. We will definitely be back. The surrounding patio makes a welcome addition plus we can let the dogs out as the yard area is fully enclosed.

Homey cabin in the woods

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our weekend in the cabin. The deck is a very nice place to eat or relax, and we appreciated having a fenced yard for our dog. The couch is spacious and comfortable, and we liked having a full kitchen to prepare our own breakfasts and lunches. The only drawback for us was that, despite paying an $80 cleaning fee, we were required to strip the beds ourselves and pack our garbage into our car and take it with us. According to the instructions, there isn't trash pickup at the cabin, but couldn't the cleaning people take it away?

Great location to breathe in that refreshing pine air!

  • 4 of 5

We did a road trip from Ohio with our dog for a 3 week stay in July at the cabin. The setting was perfect among the pines in an area which was a convenient walk to town or a moderate walk into the Tonto National Forest. We never failed to see elk or mule deer strolling about the area during early morning or early evening walks. The cabin was perfect for the two of us and our dog, who enjoyed watching squirrels from the nice wrap around deck or fenced in yard. The newly installed air conditioning was an added bonus we definitely enjoyed as temperatures rose to the 90's on some days. We were in the area mainly for hiking and the cabin is a great "base camp" for activities in the Pine/Strawberry/Payson area. Pine is a great little town, and I wouldn't miss trying out That Brewery or The Old County Inn, the local Farmer's Market or the Fossil Creek Creamery -- a few of our favorites. I give a 4-star rating simply because our stay at the cabin was for 3 weeks and there were a few things during those weeks that we could see may need updated, especially for a long-term stay, an updated shower/bath and full size shower curtain liner with permanent rod (not tension), updated towels and bed linens. Should our travels bring us to this area in the future, I would certainly consider staying again at this cabin. Like I said before, it's in a great location and makes a perfect little place to get away.
