About the Owner

My husband Gil and I started building this cabin a year before he retired from the City of Phoenix. It is our labor of love, blood, sweat, and tears. Although I am still working full time in Phoenix, we head up to the cabin as often as time allows. When you visit, you will see get a peek at some of us; our photos line the downstairs hallway.

My hobby is stained glass; Gil's is Disc Golf. So a typical weekend for us is me ensconced in my stained glass studio behind the house and Gil meeting up with friends to play a round (or 3!) of Disc Golf. In the evenings we throw something on the grill, play a round of horseshoes while our dinner cooks, and eat under the stars (you can actually SEE the Milky Way!) The nights are so refreshingly cool, and if you're lucky, a wonderful thunderstorm will roll in from the mountains in the afternoons. We sincerely hope you love your experience here as much as we do.

Charming family retreat!

  • 5 of 5

The place is well decorated and roomy enough for immediate family plus friends! It is located on a quiet street with friendly neighbors. The place is fully stocked with any thing you may need (or have forgotten to pack). We had a great time exploring the surrounding areas. Our family of five plans on going back every year!

Great and relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5

I highly recommend booking Robin's Nest. My husband and I, and two other couples rented the cabin for a weekend getaway. Not only was it comfortable but had everything we needed. Very cozy and in excellent shape. The beds were extremely comfortable and the couple who took the Saloon bedroom upstairs said the sofa sleeper was comfortable as well. I would definitely reserve this cabin again for a nice quick cool getaway.

Amazing!!! Beautiful Cabin and surrounding areas!

  • 5 of 5

This was my first time renting a cabin for my getaway, it was the best experience I could have had. Robin, the owner, was amazing!!! She made sure that we were well taken care of. The cabin was beautiful, it felt like we were at home. Anything and everything you could need was provided for you. I would highly recommend Robin's Nest to anyone looking to rent a cabin. The decorations throughout Robin's Nest reminded me of my childhood, and the relaxed feeling that the cabin brought to me such a warm feeling. I can't wait until I can rent Robin's Nest again , this time staying for a longer period of time. Thank you Robin for having such a wonderful place to go to with my family.

charming and wonderful

  • 5 of 5

What a great get away and wonderful cabin. Pictures do not do this cabin justice, a must see to believe. The entire family (4 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs) had an excellent experience at Robin's Nest over the holiday weekend. The Saloon area was perfect for the kids! The cabin was clean and well stocked. The fenced in yard made it easier for our four-legged family members to enjoy the trip. The cabin is located near several hiking and walking trails for those who enjoy nature. Robin is so friendly and wonderful to work with, we will definitely be renting from her again. Even the neighbors were friendly. I would recommend this property for anyone looking a relaxing to get away with the family.

What a great find!

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have been happier with Robin's Nest cabin! The location, size, cleanliness, amenities, and accommodating Robin all made for a perfect stay. The decor of bygone eras was quite the pleasant surprise! The pictures do not do the cabin (or Robin's attention to detail for that matter), justice. From the paper products, to the nice grill with propane to spare, all that we could need was there. Great location, fantastic cabin, couldn't have left happier. Thanks for the great stay.

From the Owner

I grew up on a farm in the Midwest, and Gil is an L.A. city boy- talk about opposites attracting! I wanted someplace nearby to escape the Phoenix heat, but a different topography than where I grew up. Gil and I visited some friends in Munds Park and fell in love with the beautiful pines and aspens. We found a lot and had our cabin shell built in 2007 (I think), and spent the next couple of years finishing the inside.
