Why Nancy Paul chose Dewittville
We love the large yard and gardens with porch, patio and arbor swing to enjoy it. We are walking distance to Point Chautauqua swimming, boating, tennis court, softball diamond, basketball hoops and the 9-hole public golf course at the entrance.
What makes this House unique
We love the historic nature of Point Chautauqua's Olmsted layout and its proximity to the cultural activities of nearby Chautauqua Institution in addition to the recreational opportunities of Chautauqua Lake.

Wonderful house, beautiful neighborhood
The house was well equipped, beautiful, and in a quiet neighborhood. Neighbors were extremely friendly. I’m looking forward to booking again. The homeowner was quick to respond to questions. We loved this vacation!
Lake House Oasis
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home near Dewittville, NY.
Fantastic place to stay!
This is a beautifully decorated, very welcoming and comfortable home. There is a large living area, open and light with plenty of seating. The bedrooms are very nice and very comfortable. The house stayed at a very comfortable temperature even in July.
The kitchen is stocked with most anything you need from dishes to pans and spices.
There is a large front porch that is very pretty and has comfortable seating. There is a back patio where we ate dinner (family of 6 seated comfortably) a number of nights. The garden and backyard is beautiful.
It is a very quiet, friendly neighborhood.
The lake is clean and there is a floating dock for kids who can swim. The beach is not sandy. It is small rocks, but they are very smooth and rounded so don't really hurt your feet.
There is a tennis court a block away that also has a pickleball net and racquets.
There are lots of great restaurants fairly close. Between the lake and other outdoor activities fairly nearby, we had plenty of fun things to do for a week. I wish we had longer than a week.
Charming beautiful house
This house was so nicely decorated; clean; spacious; and the garden is incredible; very beautiful! Supplies were plentiful and the owners did a great job communicating and providing a wonderful place for our family reunion members to stay.
Drawbacks were some of the mattresses were uncomfortable; was unusually hot and there was no air conditioning, and there were tons of bugs at the back door. But some of that cannot be helped and the charm of the house would bring us back again; we recommend!
Thank you for your review. There is AC on the first floor but only ceiling and window fans upstairs. I will inquire as to which mattresses specifically are uncomfortable so they can be replaced before the next rental season. Sorry you had the unfortunate timing to encounter lake flies.
Charming vacation home
We had a wonderful time with our extended family! The landscaping and amenities were wonderful. Friendly and helpful owners, too. I recommend it.
Well-equipped, lovely gardens and setting, peaceful and pleasant spot. Delightful!
Our week at this property was a wonderful experience. Although not on the waterfront, it did not matter one bit - we saw a lot of the lake while there. The gardens are beautifully maintained, and my sister who visited and is an avid gardener, spent a lot of time surveying the many flowers. The house is nicely decorated and well-maintained, the kitchen well-equipped. Thanks for the opportunity.
Chautauqua Lake is a beautiful 20 mile long lake. Great for boating, fishing, and swimming. Rental boats and kayaks are available on the lake. The 9-hole Chautauqua Point Golf Course is located at the entrance to Point Chautauqua with many other 18-hole courses around the lake. Bemus Point is fun for its unique shops, restaurants and outdoor concerts. The historic Chautauqua Institution is an 8-mile, 15 minute drive across the lake. Take advantage of the cultural opportunities and classes that are available. Midway Amusement Park in nearby Maple Springs is a historic and charming 'trolley park' with a vintage carousel.
