4 Bedrooms, 3 Bath Townhome wedged between the ocean & the sound. Wake up & have your coffee while rocking in your chair & overlooking Wrightsville Beach's peaceful waters. This beach home is convinently located one block from the ocean offering great decks on every level. Enclosed outside shower area & parking for 3 to 4 cars. The master is the largest room with a King bed, a futon that make out into a bed. Two of the other rooms have a Queen size bed & the 4th room has bunk beds with a extra trundle bed.
I am a North Carolina native that has always been drawn to the coast. I love to surf & now I enjoy taking my children out to ride some waves in the ocean. I own a local floor covering business & a bath & shower renovation company. I am blessed with a wonderful wife (northern girl) & we have adopted 3 amazing children. Twin girls from Guatemala & a little boy from China. I am truly blessed.

The beach house is a very special place. Many memories have been made in this beach house. People always seem to be able to relax in this home & they always seem to have great times.
Lots of outside sitting areas. (4 decks, courtyard, hot tub area) The house sets just outside all the action. Far enough away yet close enough that you can walk to many restaurants, ice cream shops, pubs, grocery store, etc. There are some views of both the ocean & the sound. The living areas are open and great for family & friends to be together.
We stayed Thursday - Sunday with 8 adults.
Each bedroom was well lit, had ample storage for hanging clothes or to put in drawers. Each bedroom is on the 2nd floor and had great access to the kitchen, living room area with another bedroom right off the kitchen and bath so it would be ideal for someone who needed to float to and from the kitchen at night or in our case, is an early riser and didn't want to wake others. Great access to the washer/dryer on the 2nd floor that worked well. Since our trip was a long weekend we decided to bring our own sheets/blankets/pillows/linens. It was not a big deal at all and in fact was cool each night with the ceiling fans on. Updated master with large closet, oversized bathroom and shower.
The kitchen was well stocked - the coffee maker is a 6-8cup standard pot, we didn't know if we should bring Keurig pods or filters and luckily there were tons of filters already at the house. Peak-a-boo sound views from the kitchen and 3rd floor bedroom balcony. The kitchen has an oversized stainless steel fridge that held food/beverages/snacks for 8 adults very easily. Tons of counter space so there was not an issue with making meals. (One night we made fish tacos with fresh Mahi caught that morning at the fish market by the marina. (Motts Channel Seafood) The fishermen were incredibly sweet. They also had fresh veggies and fruits.) The kitchen also had a large pantry with plenty of shelf space for dry goods.
Parking is truly 3-4 cars. We were able to fit a minivan, 1 midsize SUV, and 2 small sedans. But it was tight. Carpool if you have larger vehicles.
Harris Teeter less than 2 miles from the house and the house is located very easily off the main road and traffic circle, but traffic was minimal and the street was safe enough to walk early in the morning or late at night. We walked to the beach bars Friday night and walked back. You can not find a house (unless it is ocean front) that has such an easy access to the beach.The beach path is literally out the door and across the main road.We walked back & forth for restrooms, lunch breaks, and carried all of our gear without a single huff/puff/or whine!
Overall we had a fantastic time. My only prior concern with a duplex is hearing noise from the other side of the wall, this wis a solid house.Didn't hear a word. Quiet, met our needs, the owner was immediate in communication throughout the process, highly recommend this rental and look forward to returning in the future
So overall, I would recommend the property, with a few caveats...
The air conditioning was out and the owner had put in portable units, which worked for all but one bedroom. There were mysterious plumbing issues: drains working slowly, a strong sewer smell from the laundry room/2nd floor that refused to go away, and the second floor bathroom had a constantly running toilet, and a partially clogged shower head that wouldn't shut all of the way off when using the tub. Also, the dryer was broken, and there were several small repair/maintenance items that needed attention, such as broken drawer handles, sand in the hot tub, and pool table very unlevel. (very minor things overall) However, the overall impression was that the house needed maintenance and some upkeep, which, I will admit, is probably due to our renting it towards the end of the season.
On the upside, the owner was very friendly and helpful, and responded immediately to any problems we had, as best they could. The house is a block from the beach. (We didn't go to the intercoastal side at all, but we could see it from the 3rd floor.) The major appliances and fixtures were nice in the kitchen and living room, and the master bedroom was very nice.
To summarize, I think that this place would be a five star rental with some maintenance/upkeep and updating done. We enjoyed our stay on the whole!
The property was fantastic and exactly what we were looking for. It not only accommodating all of our guests, but it had plenty of space to relax and enjoy the beach environment. The best part about this property is the location. All you need to do to get to the beach is walk across the street or take a right out of the door and you are block away from the pier. Only issue was some confusion with parking as there are multiple units in the property on both side A and B so traveling with a lot of cars can be an issue. But, that was just a minor concern.
Overall it was ok. Clean. No linens, towels, pillows, blankets or paper products provided. Size of rental was sufficient for our group: 3 couples, two teenage boys and an infant (no crib available). Beds were comfortable. Grill did not heat up ... may have simply been low on propane; we didn't investigate and didn't call the owner. Good floor plan for the size of the rental. Large dining table, family room area and large master bedroom with large private bathroom were pluses. Hot tub and pool table were enjoyed. No real views of the ocean or inter coastal ... three decks, but only have peak-a-boo views. Decks do not have solid roofs so can't use them in the rain, which is a shame. Inter coastal view above kitchen sink. Ample off-street parking. Owner was responsive. Kitchen had most everything we needed. Convenient location. Walking distance to restaurants/bars; around the corner from Johnny Mercer's Pier and about a mile to the Oceanic.
My family and I are used to staying in vacation rentals, but we have never had an experience quite like staying here. The pictures in the advertisement show rooms that have comforters, sheets and pillows. This rental does not have any of those items! When you are from out of state, this is a huge disadvantage. We had to go to Walmart and purchase sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, paper towels, dish cloths, laundry detergent, hand soap, regular soap and even toilet paper. It was a complete waste of money because we could not pack the items to bring them back home. I have never even heard of a rental not having toilet paper! The other frustrating thing was the lack of late check out. We had to be out of the house at 11 AM. This made it so that we could not stay on the beach another day. That being said, it is a large home with a lot of beds and has a nice location, a few blocks away from the beach.
Very convenient and accessible location from the beach and town. The floor levels worked out great for adults and kids. Backyard grill is great as well. Owner is very attentive to your needs/questions.
