About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, 6 Sleeps

On the west side of Cayuga Lake, this cottage is nestled in the heart of wine country. Our 40+ mile long lake has great fishing and boating as well as many other opportunities to enjoy this beautiful area of the Finger lakes. Ceramic tiled floors downstairs and carpeting upstairs provide comfort. This cottage is only 6 years old and has 98 feet of lakefront, shallow beachfront and ample parking for day guests on the private parking area adjacent to the property. A gradual stone path leads from the road to the house with only a few stairs down to the deck and provide ease of access to the water. This unique setting provides panoramic views of historic Sheldrake and Wyers Point with no neighbors to the south and a cliffside view, thus the name 'Cliffside at Wyers Point.

About Marjorie DeSantis

Living for many years on Otisco Lake we fell in love with the area. When this property became available we couldn't resist. We have had wonderful times and great rental guests and have enjoyed sharing our home with others.

Marjorie DeSantis purchased this house in 2007

Why Marjorie DeSantis chose Ovid

We loved the balcony off the master bedroom and we love watching the fish in the water from up above. The sun rises and star gazing are incredible.

What makes this house unique

On the water with no steep staircases to get down to the water. A gradual footpath leads you to the front door with just a few steps down to the front porch. The south side is without neighbors and is very private. Close to wineries and restaurants, a public boat launch and coffee shop (The Busy Bee) where you can rent kayaks and have gourmet coffee/lattes.

A Hidden Gem

  • 5 of 5

The house was very clean and the owners very responsive to any questions. Having a fire pit was an added bonus. The rental comes with two kayaks. Although, be careful, as the wind can change the water in a moment's notice. You can fish off the two docks. When the water is calm, you can see to the bottom. The beds are firm and the WIFI worked well. There are several parking spots in front of the house and across the street. There is a gravel pathway leading down to steps to the house. It will take you approximately 25-30 minutes to get to Ithaca as the house is 18 miles away. Many wineries are nearby.

Absolutely Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is completely as described. The location was perfect for us. Totally enjoyed our stay and plan on going back again. Foggy mornings at the end of the dock were so peaceful and calm. Breakfast on the upper deck was our go to. Also can't go wrong floating in the water in front of the place. Everything we needed was there. The owners have a lovely cottage and make sure it is in tip top shape.

Graduation Weekend Stay

  • 5 of 5

Cliffside was a welcome retreat from Ithaca traffic and the hustle bustle of Graduation Weekend. We enjoyed our stay! We hosted a BBQ for family and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, even a gas grill outside. You can't get any closer to the water! Even though we had rain most everyday, we still were able to sit inside the house and feel like we were out on the water. The games and wifi made our stay more enjoyable. I would stay here again!

Excellent vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

This house was great. Right on the water with two docks. very spacious living room/dining areas with great views, especially out on the deck patio. Only two bedrooms, but fit two couples just fine. We'd love to go back when it's warmer to do some fishing, swimming, and to use the kayak
