House, 2 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, 6 Sleeps

On the west side of Cayuga Lake, this cottage is nestled in the heart of wine country. Our 40+ mile long lake has great fishing and boating as well as many other opportunities to enjoy this beautiful area of the Finger lakes. Ceramic tiled floors downstairs and carpeting upstairs provide comfort. This cottage is only 6 years old and has 98 feet of lakefront, shallow beachfront and ample parking for day guests on the private parking area adjacent to the property. A gradual stone path leads from the road to the house with only a few stairs down to the deck and provide ease of access to the water. This unique setting provides panoramic views of historic Sheldrake and Wyers Point with no neighbors to the south and a cliffside view, thus the name 'Cliffside at Wyers Point.

Living for many years on Otisco Lake we fell in love with the area. When this property became available we couldn't resist. We have had wonderful times and great rental guests and have enjoyed sharing our home with others.

A relaxing week on the lake

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a week at Cliffside and I had trouble sleeping without the sound of the water, lol. The house is a treat to stay at from the private location (neighbors on one side but the deck and beach are on the private side), to the gas grill, to the paddle boat and kayak, to the fully stocked kitchen and comfy beds. The area is surrounded by wineries and state parks with incredible gorges and waterfalls. The lake temperature is a little chilly for those adults who are 'faint of heart' but it doesn't slow down the kids! You won't regret a moment of your stay at Cliffside. Margie does an excellent job of communicating and even left us a gift bag. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again the next time we're in the area.

Wonderful place for a summer getaway

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is not only well-equipped and clean, but it is in a perfect location for privacy and lake activities. We had a wonderful time with the paddle boat and fishing docks. Just sitting on the deck with coffee to watch the sun come up made it all worthwhile. We highly recommend this place.

Beautiful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the cottage. The weather was wonderful even thought it was middle of October, we went for long walks and enjoyed fall colours immensly.

The cottage has everything you might need, we were able to cook our own meals and felt like home. It's very beautiful and peaceful place. Communication with Marjorie was smooth, everything was taken care of before our arrival. We brought wiht us guests from Europe and they are alredy planning another visit!

Great Place For Families

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time staying at this lovely cottage. The owner was super friendly and did her best to make us at home. The pictures on this website do not do the cottage justice. On the night of our arrival, we sat on the balcony outside the master bedroom listening to the lapping waves of the lake and observing occasional fireworks. Each night, the waves lulled us to sleep. The cottage has an open, homey feel but is also clean and elegant. During the days, my children enjoyed playing in the lake and using the paddle boat, which the owners thoughtfully provided. And it was OK to let the kids make noise! There are breath taking waterfalls all over the area, and just down the road is the award-winning Lucas Winery. In short, there is something here for everyone in the family.

In the heart of wine country, wine tasting is great and all wineries have wonderful gift shops, some with bistros for lunch.Recently a wine tour by boat has begun from Sheldrake Point ( 1mile) with lunch, sunset cruises or just wine tastings at various wineries available. There are several restaurants on the water, accessible by land or boat, including Busy Bee Market, , Kidder's Landing, The Boat House in Ithaca, Wolffey's, The Aurora Inn and Fargo's to name a few. Mackenzie Childs is a pottery and china company which has beautiful pieces and is the pride of Aurora, NY. Check them out on the web. There are many small towns and villages to explore including Ithaca, Watkins Glen (part of the NASCAR circuit), historic Seneca Falls/Waterloo, Geneva, Skaneateles (Mirbeau Spa) and Auburn NY, all within 30 minutes. Larger cities such as Rochester (waterpark Seabreeze) and Syracuse (Great New York State Fair) are approximately 1 hour away. Buffalo (amusement park Six Flags over Darien Lake) and Niagara Falls if you have never seen the Falls. (Bring your passport to get on the Canadian side as well). There are several smaller but very impressive waterfalls nearby in many of our State parks. Amish markets provide great giftshops and fresh produce/baked goods including Sauders Market in Seneca Falls/Waterloo. Historic Eric Canal and Seneca Falls area, all with small villages to explore. Prime Outlets in Waterloo is about 30 minutes away for the shoppers in your group. Berry picking is ongoing as many different types are picked throughout the summer and then there is apple and pumpkin season in the Fall as well as the wine harvest festivals. Many festivals and county fairs continue throughout the summer. You can find more information at: www.fingerlakeswinecountry.com
