About Marjorie DeSantis
Living for many years on Otisco Lake we fell in love with the area. When this property became available we couldn't resist. We have had wonderful times and great rental guests and have enjoyed sharing our home with others.
Marjorie DeSantis purchased this House in 2007
Why Marjorie DeSantis chose Ovid
We loved the balcony off the master bedroom and we love watching the fish in the water from up above. The sun rises and star gazing are incredible.
What makes this House unique
On the water with no steep staircases to get down to the water. A gradual footpath leads you to the front door with just a few steps down to the front porch. The south side is without neighbors and is very private. Close to wineries, micro breweries, distilleries and restaurants, a public boat launch and waterfalls.

We love the cliffside house and always enjoy our stay more and more each time we visit. The location is perfect and water views are amazing. Margie is an excellent host and a pleasure to communicate with. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home!!
Amazing house !!!! Amazing location !
I highly recommend on this house, we had everything we needed, the location, the beach, the view, the house is fabulous.
We had perfect vacation and if we will have the chance we will come back .
Marjorie is great, very responsive and provides all the needed information.
The perfect place for a family with kids!
We enjoyed the cottage and especially the water toys including the row boat, paddle boat and kayaks. The small beach area was great for our kids (12, 9 and 7). We also enjoyed hiking in the nearby state parks.
We had a lovely stay at cliffside at Wyers Point. The house is situated so that it’s easy to load and unload the car without all the steps that so many Lakeside houses have. The views from the house were fantastic, from every room. Its situated with an open floor plan downstairs that feels like you are sitting right on the lake! This came in handy for our time there that included cooler temps than we expected for week after Labor Day. We had a full day of chilly rain but still enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Warmer days were spent on the top deck or swing which was great. Our only suggestion is new pillows on the king size bed (which was very comfy.)
It was in the 60s/70s while we were there and a few nights were a little warm, not sure how we would do in the heat of summer without AC upstairs. I’m sure there’s a way to adjust the many fans available for cool breezes to come through. Would love to come back in warmer weather to take advantage of swimming in the lake on the beautiful private beach. Thank you Marjorie!
It was a fanastic family experience.
We enjoyed everything in this rental e.g. beautiful view, private beach, boats, etc. Definitely recommend it!
So glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to have you back again in the future.
Spectacular spot on a great lake
This property was perfect for us, the generous included access to a row boat, 2 kayaks, and a paddle boat was really amazing. Our kids spent 4-6 hours just hanging out in the water each day. Great access to restaurants, waterfall walks, and plenty of relaxing all around. A/C upstairs would be nice, but we can’t complain at this great property and kind hosts. Many thanks!
In the heart of wine country, wine tasting is great and all wineries have wonderful gift shops, some with bistros for lunch.Recently a wine tour by boat has begun from Sheldrake Point ( 1mile) with lunch, sunset cruises or just wine tastings at various wineries available. There are several restaurants on the water, accessible by land or boat, including Busy Bee Market, , Kidder's Landing, The Boat House in Ithaca, Wolffey's, The Aurora Inn and Fargo's to name a few. Mackenzie Childs is a pottery and china company which has beautiful pieces and is the pride of Aurora, NY. Check them out on the web. There are many small towns and villages to explore including Ithaca, Watkins Glen (part of the NASCAR circuit), historic Seneca Falls/Waterloo, Geneva, Skaneateles (Mirbeau Spa) and Auburn NY, all within 30 minutes. Larger cities such as Rochester (waterpark Seabreeze) and Syracuse (Great New York State Fair) are approximately 1 hour away. Buffalo (amusement park Six Flags over Darien Lake) and Niagara Falls if you have never seen the Falls. (Bring your passport to get on the Canadian side as well). There are several smaller but very impressive waterfalls nearby in many of our State parks. Amish markets provide great giftshops and fresh produce/baked goods including Sauders Market in Seneca Falls/Waterloo. Historic Eric Canal and Seneca Falls area, all with small villages to explore. Prime Outlets in Waterloo is about 30 minutes away for the shoppers in your group. Berry picking is ongoing as many different types are picked throughout the summer and then there is apple and pumpkin season in the Fall as well as the wine harvest festivals. Many festivals and county fairs continue throughout the summer.
